Can you make a video for applying for this program when facing eviction , of course your housing management has to accept vouchers , but what’s the process like?
This for the information. My question is if the tenant did not recertified in a timely manner how long would it take for them to get back their voucher?
You're welcome. As the landlord, you would receive the final termination notice if the tenant's subsidy is in jeopardy, so you can follow up with them if need be. If they submit late, it can take a few months for a renewal. Tenants are notified 5 months in advance of the lease end date to submit their renewal documents, so hopefully that issue is avoided entirely. If you need assistance with a specific issue re: a renewal, please feel free to call me at 917-254-2103.

So it hurts more to move and so I want to know if CityFHEPS will pay my rent or at least help me pay this rent and sadly my mom in another state will help me pay the rent and bills.

Hi, CityFHEPS provides the landlord with a security voucher (in place of a security deposit), a 1-month unit hold bonus, the 1st full months rent in its entirety, and then the next 3 months of rent paid by the program upfront. Landlords can receive up to 5 months rent at once depending on the circumstances. It also pays the broker's fee, so neither the landlord nor tenant need to worry about that.
@breyaTruella No, not after the housing packet is submitted. That is usually a few weeks. The entire process from beginning to end (i.e., showing the unit, selecting a tenant, inspection, completing and submitting the packet, getting approval, and getting checks) can be 2 months.

What happens when the 5 years are up and they have already extended your voucher for a year ? Do they give a section 8 voucher or move you into a nycha building?
You can go back to them to see if the same extenuating circumstances still apply to see if your CityFHEPS voucher can be extended again. They do it on a case-by-case basis.
