This season he's been stopped before grands 3 different times. He's still the best, but it's kind of exciting to think that maybe this is glimmers of a new era, and to see who takes the mantle.
@Joshua Suh I think it's both. Leo being stubborn and choosing characters that don't represent his full potential, and also many other players getting MUCH better and closing the gap between him and them.
Once again, Aegis being the crack in Leo's armour. His commitment for the character is admirable but the frequency of Aegis players has given everyone the matchup knowledge. Had he gone Byleth from the get go, he would have most likely taken the set by game 4.
I don’t know why you just assume he would’ve won if he picked Byleth from the beginning. Tweek beat him 3-1 last time he went all Byleth at Collison, and that’s when he was only playing Byleth. Tweek also probably should’ve won this set 3-0 if he didn’t get DLC’d at the end of game 3. That KO combo started at 44%…lmao
I feel like I was watching goku vs vegeta, Naruto vs Sasuke, scorpion vs sub zero, Ryu vs Ken, the rock vs stone cold Steve Austin, this set was fucking legendary.
Tweek won fair and square and his gameplay was insanely good as far as I can tell, but DAMN how can Leo stay so composed under such circumstances, the man is one of a kind. He was so close to turning a seemingly unwinnable match around. I feel like almost nobody else would even have a shot in that same scenario, and not just in Smash, in any competitive sport/game/discipline.
What a classic. Tweek had him but chocked a little. Leo immediately took over and it went to the bitter end. Wow. Happy for tweek he won because his last close loss almost led to a meltdown judging by his swearing. Post interview was also a classic confirming they are legends
I don’t always watch the interview at the end, but guys, watch it. Tweek says the coolest stuff about Leo. Points out that Leo has literally said “I win so much I get bored.” Super cool, and explains the Aegis.
Thank you so much Tweek for destroying Leo in those first 2 games. You awakened Leo to make him realize Aegis is not for him. Now Leo said on Twitter he will drop that character. I hope we never see him pick up that character again.
Bro what was this GAME. Holy shit. Tweek playing out of his god damn mind. Leo almost doing the reverse sweep. And that Game 5 was straight up nuts. Dear lord.
What. A. Set. The best tweek mkleo iteration we’ve seen imo. The Aegis getting trashed by twitter clip combos, The resurge of byleth, tweek holding on to give leo his worst result in 2+ years. 22:42 is the peak of the set
I wanted this to be the grand finals 😭 The start of Ultimate was always Tweek and Leo, so I hope whenever the end of the game comes up, it’ll end with these two.
I think they should release another video when the commentators' voices are muted at the end of the set, because there is an interesting conversation between Leo and Tweek. I catch Tweek said that he thought he would be reversed 3-0, and Leo replied he should use Byleth from the earlier set, but I can't catch other lines between them.
I'd agree if Leo had played Byleth the whole time with the same result of the match, but him getting clapped with Aegis is kinda lame to watch, still a debatable top 10. I think the acola Anathema one was pretty good too, if not better.
EVO Grand Finals 2019 Riptide Winners Finals 2021 and now, Smash Summit Ultimate 5 Losers quarters (wtf this was for 9th??!) Some of the best sets in ultimate came from these two. Even if Tweek is struggling with his character crisis, even if Leo somehow bulldozes his way to 1st place, no matter whenever these two meet, you'll always be guaranteed a legendary and exciting match.
Geezus Tweek with the diddy loops and it's literally only one banana, I cannot even think how much more ridiculous some of those loops could be if Tweek had diddy with a second one

they really do bring out the best in each other. tweek basically said, "stop playing around" and leo had to bring out the byleth
Arguably the best set in Smash Ultimate history...
Man that last thing tweek said was heartwarming. The respect
Honestly greatest ultimate set of all time as of now
Crazy that at 20:35 Leo was pixels off from landing that down smash that would have likely won him that set, what an insane set man
Tweek won fair and square and his gameplay was insanely good as far as I can tell, but DAMN how can Leo stay so composed under such circumstances, the man is one of a kind. He was so close to turning a seemingly unwinnable match around. I feel like almost nobody else would even have a shot in that same scenario, and not just in Smash, in any competitive sport/game/discipline.
The most insane set ive ever seen this one is going down in the books
What a classic. Tweek had him but chocked a little. Leo immediately took over and it went to the bitter end. Wow. Happy for tweek he won because his last close loss almost led to a meltdown judging by his swearing. Post interview was also a classic confirming they are legends
if this wasn’t in the loser bracket for top 8 this would be the greatest set in ult history
That set was so fucking sick. Almost offset by how calmly the two players said good shit to each other when the set closed
I don’t always watch the interview at the end, but guys, watch it. Tweek says the coolest stuff about Leo. Points out that Leo has literally said “I win so much I get bored.” Super cool, and explains the Aegis.
Leo hasn't said that. That's what Tweek feels. He's talked about it before on Tweek Talks.
Thank you so much Tweek for destroying Leo in those first 2 games. You awakened Leo to make him realize Aegis is not for him. Now Leo said on Twitter he will drop that character. I hope we never see him pick up that character again.
Agreed 👍
I hope I never see that Aegis again. The moment he picked her up I knew it was bad news
I wanted this to be the grand finals 😭
The start of Ultimate was always Tweek and Leo, so I hope whenever the end of the game comes up, it’ll end with these two.
We got a glimpse of that peak Tweek once more.
This was some Goku vs Vegeta type shit. Difference is that Vegeta finally won. However still acknowledged Goku is stronger. What a set
Tweek believers are eating so good man, I was tearing up at the end ngl
Best ultimate set of smash history. I think this one surpases evo 2019. These 2 always deliver ❤
I'd agree if Leo had played Byleth the whole time with the same result of the match, but him getting clapped with Aegis is kinda lame to watch, still a debatable top 10. I think the acola Anathema one was pretty good too, if not better.
@@fandan710 agreed, can’t stand leo aegis
EVO Grand Finals 2019
Riptide Winners Finals 2021
and now,
Smash Summit Ultimate 5 Losers quarters (wtf this was for 9th??!)
Some of the best sets in ultimate came from these two. Even if Tweek is struggling with his character crisis, even if Leo somehow bulldozes his way to 1st place, no matter whenever these two meet, you'll always be guaranteed a legendary and exciting match.
Look no further. This is the best Smash Ultimate set you'll ever see.
最後の刹那の見切りを制したことに感動しました。
Geezus Tweek with the diddy loops and it's literally only one banana, I cannot even think how much more ridiculous some of those loops could be if Tweek had diddy with a second one
All of tweeks sets this tourney felt like grands, man played out of his MIND!
So far ;)
all the build up in past tourneys culminating in this set. this matchup is peak man
Tweeks words about carrying the torch for Leo made me cry during the stream 😭
i think the best part of this was Tweeks speech at the end
I would put this set above EVO 2019 in terms of entertainment
