Aloin is not on the outside of the leaf, but just inside the outer skin . . . with most if not all of it near the bottom of the leaf, near the plant's center. Aloe vera's aloin is bright yellow, and easy to see where it is sandwiched thinly between the clear gel and the outer skin. . . . The reason it got such a toxic reputation is because doctors had the aloin removed from Aloe vera leaves, & condensed or dried . . . & used it that way as a medicine for serious constipation . . . and it was SO VERY EFFECTIVE, unrealistically condensed like that, that patients found it VERY PAINFUL for as long as it kept having its horribly irritating effects! . . . However . . . if it had been eaten along with the rest of the Aloe that it was grown in diluting it, I strongly doubt that it would have been anywhere near as awful, & yet still have been effective!

    6:41. Juicing aloe with lemon.
    8:00. Cosmetics.
-Aloe is best when used within a week from picking and stored in fridge for 10 days.
-The yellow slime is a "latex" or an *(aloin compound) and is toxic* this why you should discard at least 1 inch from the base.
-*Removal of aloin compounds:* Soak aloe 15 min, change water soak another 15 min.
-After cutting off peel soak gel in water again then lay flat in plastic bag and freeze up to eight months.
-For cosmetics: Make sure you remove all oils from face and lightly exfoliate. Steam is recommended before aloe gel application.
-Suran wrap live edges if plan on storing is the refrigerator.
-Warning: Peppermint oil left on skin is a skin irritant.

Hi if you're making the gel I read in the comments that boiling it will reduce the effect because of the heat so better to boil separately then leaving to cool down before adding the the aloe vera and mixing them together! Eg. Boil the agar powder separately, cool to lukewarm, add into aloe vera and mix then put in the fridge :-)

    • @romilsgarden6234

The healing properties are primarily due to giberallic acid if i can remember correctly which is not original to aloe vera but its most common and easily available that's why its popular. Giberallic acid remains even after boiling. Other compounds are not in enough quantity to do anything that supplements what you eat. Good diet is the best prevention.

First of all, the aloe vera that appears in this video is young, it is not ripe for consumption, the leaves with white spots, are plants less than two years old, never consume. Second issue, aloe vera is not collected by cutting the leaf as seen in the video. Third issue, you must eliminate aloin before consumption. Fourth issue, NEVER heat the aloe vera because it loses its properties. Fifth issue, apply lemon and sugar as a preservative and pH stabilizer or it will become dark.

@Truth Only That happens for two reasons, first because the aloe needs to balance the PH, for this it adds lemon to the aloe, but part of the color is due to the aloin that is between the skin and the pulp of the aloe, it is yellow and smells strong, it is toxic and laxative so you must remove it before eating it. To remove it, put water in a bucket and cut the two ends, leave the wide part of the leaf submerged for three days, change the water every day. After removing the pulp, rinse it to rinse the aloin. You should also keep aloe in the fridge.

    •  4 года назад +4

@Truth Only Keep in mind that the plant should not be consumed if it is less than two years old and has not taken its first flower, it is when it matures.
