- Was 2023 a low buy year for me in comparison to other luxury You Tubers? Join me in reflecting on my luxury shopping over the last few years and how I want to go forward in 2024. Am I embarking on a low buy year this year? Or is it just that I want my shopping to be very intentional? Does that take the fun out of luxury shopping or is it just being responsible with my hard earned money? Let me know what you think in the comments below!

I like the idea of intentional purchasing rather than limiting purchasing or stopping all together. Restriction never worked for me either. When I tell myself I can have whatever I want, I don’t want it that much anymore lol funny how it works sometimes

I think your approach to this year is spot on for you. I think for me the idea of “intentional” purchases is what I am striving for in the end. But at the moment, I think having some sort of limit was needed. I guess I sort of look at it as stepping stones to my ultimate goal of buying only what I absolutely love and really think will have a place in my collection. Here’s to the journey!

Great reflection Claire. It’s hard to say no when pieces you’ve wanted for a long time come up. Those seasonal pieces you just can’t wait on.
Yep I definitely found that one hard to say no to! But I think i did the right thing - now hopefully when the right colour WOC comes up I can snap it up!! 🤣
I love this! I am on my low buy year as well. I thought I was already last year until I realized how much I still bought. It is the constant going back and forth because I just love so many things.
That’s the trouble isn’t it! We say buy what you love but what happens if you love everything!! 🤣
I watch your channel because I find you relatable already in the way you shop for luxury. I watch many of the others because I find their bag style relatable but not their shopping habits. I purposefully keep my bag budget low to allow for one expensive bag or a couple of lesser priced ones per year and in all honestly, I like the more reasonably priced ones more because I’m not as worried to use them. Totally related to your Chanel mini reissue story as similar has happened to me but with the LV On My Side bag. Every autumn I say I’ll buy it but never do and I think it harks back to me wanting it whilst I went to the office. Now I WFH and have a very casual lifestyle. I’ve looked so often at many seasonal bags I missed buying that I think I’m actually over them too. Intentional shopping is refreshing to see in luxury - it keeps it luxury.
Good point! Thank you for your kind words - I do try to be relatable and realistic! I have been fortunate the last couple of years and bought more than I usually would. But now is time to take stock and make the right decision over items! 💕

Where you are at now is where I’m hoping to be next year. For me, the low buy year was necessary to change my shopping habits. My hope is after this year I’ll be able to be more intentional and selective moving forward.

Hi Claire. I’m new here. I’m doing low buy year this year. I saw the Lisa’s video and left a comment about my situation 😅. I think if I saw certain items the one I want from the pre-loved market gets me a lot last year because they are not available in the store now. I am quit good with the items are available now in the store or their website. I think you are much better than me to control your temptation especially about the handbags.😊
There’s always temptation! But there’s also always other factors at play that mean I can’t have everything I love! So just trying to ensure that I pick the right pieces that will fit with me! ☺️

It makes no sense to have so many bags but I was always collecting something from my early age, so it makes sense to me. It is individual I suppose.
It called an addiction.
I have always collected certain things as well! But I’ve never seen my bags as a ‘collection’ just things I love using! ☺️ And it definitely is individual! Enjoy your bags 💕
Sorry I don’t agree that if you collect something you are addicted! Collecting can be a fun hobby and if it happens to be bags you collect then nothing wrong with that as long as you can afford it! I don’t view my bags as a collection though 🤔

@@idaranwa4370 No apology needed! It’s an interesting topic to debate. And shopping can definitely become an addiction if not managed properly, and if approached without a sense of moderation.
You've got to jump on those seasonal bags when you get the chance, and we don't really know what's on the horizon (apart from NYC!) so yeah, I'm with you on your intentional luxury approach for 2024! 💞
Funds, space and many other reasons dictate it! I am following Dayle’s logic of not buying something if it has the potential to replace something I already love - it has to fill a gap! We can encourage each other! 💕
