      Axess2084 I love that so much of their comedy had brotherly jabs like that. I was watching Room Service today, and when they finally get the food in the room, Chico dunks some sort of pastry in Groucho’s coffee and bites it like “what’re you gonna do about it?” Their group chemistry is so much of what makes them funny.

    • @halwasserman7905
      @halwasserman7905 3 года назад +1

      I hold out hope one day someone will tell me to beat it before they get arrested, so I can answer with Chico's line. It's such a great line I would kill for the opportunity to use it myself. Not very likely to happen, but God knows I am listening and ready to say it if I get the chance.

      @@halwasserman7905 And that's what makes the Marx Bros so great, is that you could bust out one of their best lines today and the wit wouldn't have dulled a bit despite it being most of a century since then. There's TV shows from the 70s, 80s, even 90s where the jokes already feel stilted and stale and yet the Marx Bros were out there killing it pre-WW2.

    I love the Marx Brothers. My all-time favourite comedy team and this must rate as my favourite scene by them. The whole of the scene is sheer comic genius. Recently I have been reminded of the part where Groucho replies to Henderson's remark "I notice the table's set for four" with "That's nothing: my alarm clock is set for eight!" That line has been revolving around in my head. It always cracks me up. There has never been a comedy team like the Marx Brothers and never will be. Luckily I have almost all of their movies on dvd. It's great to know any time I want to be entertained I can put on one of their films and know I an going to be in heaps of laughter throughout.
