When I fish nightcrawlers (which is usually in a creek), I thread them on the hook and up the line a bit rather than hook them through the side multiple times. It looks more natural and produces more fish. Also use a slightly smaller hook
lol when your intro music started I thought "man y'all got some weird birds there in Florida!" Great video! You have quickly become my absolute favorite fishing youtuber out there :)
come saltwater fish with me bud. we use live bait and thatd be your new live bait video! plus salt would be a cool change for your channel. look at my last few using live mullet for striper.
A little tip to you and your viewers. I mostly fish for rainbow trout, and I primarily use worms. The best way to get bit on a worm is to scent them up, with some crawfish scent!! I use Yum craw scent and it absolutely kills!!!!! So don’t count the worms out! ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
@@lojofishing 👊👊👊👊 back at ya homie. If you ever in sw florida like naples or sanibel captiva hit me up. Ill show you my inshore spot where i caught my pb snook 41.5in
They are two of my go tos for live bait i always have live minnows in my baitbox. Do really well with minnows and nightcrawlers I feel like i get better surprise catches with minnows big catfish seem to like the bass minnows. Either works but i prefer minnows here lately ive been using some crickets as well and they have caught me alot of panfish!
I have always used worms and never used minnows. Here on Pelican Lake fishing is quite scarce and so far worms or artificial lures have got nothing, not even a bite. This Friday I am going to try using minnows on this lake.
Been watching your videos the past few weeks and thought I was subscribed, wasn’t and now I am. Keep up the great work and if you’re ever in southern Ky you need to hit up some striper fishing at Lake Cumberland!
Looks like you just came from Wally World, with those tie-wraps holding the reels on and the butt stickers still on the handles! (I kid people all the time about that!) Haha! I was wondering at first with that "Hook/Minnow Combination"! (A size 6 minnow on a 6-0 Hook looked funny!) Haha!
LOL ur 100% wrong buddy.... bullheads has more whiskers then flatheads or channel cats first of all... secondly look at the rounded tail...... and yellow cats is another name for a yellow bullhead hope this clears up everything for everyone ^^
His main problem is how he's using the worms. By wrapping the worm several times on the hook, he's leaving very little tail to wiggle in the water. Clearly the minnow, hooked solely in the mouth, moves around more. Hooked properly, the liveliness of the worm then plays a role. His worms were quite lethargic.
People who comment "First"..... What does that accomplish? Anything other than making yourself to look like a fool? Just wondering.....ya know, for a friend....
More livelier worms/nightcrawlers for sure would have made a difference. Also a slip sinker rig may also have made a world of difference. A lot of my "live" bait offerings use this simple set up and actually nightcrawlers work best for this method. A mixed bag of species can be on the agenda....though the downside with this method is possible hangups.
I need to get some minnows. I bought a pair of those KVD multi tool too. QC kind of iffy on them. Mine don't even open and the joint had some rust. I saw Mustad on the box and got excited. 😒
You should have kept the crappie and done a catch and cook. They are really good if you soak in Frank's red hot sauce, then dredge in flower. I would like to see you try catching freshwater fish on traditional saltwater bait, like squid
Thanks man for the tip cause I was always using worms cause my dad said that the smell on a worm will attract fish and this morning I used minnows and had a bass on my line but my line broke
with the worm threader you can use a whole worm. once you learn how to use them efficiently they work. I can put a worm on quicker then a lot of people can do it by hand. give it a try. I'll let you decided.i like them. good video.👍
I like fishing with worms when I am with the kids or young casters who are happy to catch anything. However worms are tough skinned and once a fish starts pulling it apart they can get dragged off the hook. Just a pellet sized bit of swimmers ear plug wax or similar punched just above the hook barn below the worm helps keep it on longer.
I find that with worms you can change position by 6-12 inches and that can be the difference between bites or nothing at all. As long you can cast to pretty much the same spot when you find them worms will get steady action.
bullhead catfish normally catch them on worms in ponds and when im fishing for them if they swallow it i cut it off re string and when cleaning the fish i try to get the hook back and have actually found other hooks in their stomachs that were almost completely rusted apart so as long as you dont rip the stomach apart it is safe for the fish to cut the line an let it go.
Awsome video bro. Yea let's see more of these kind of videos. An how about maybe some urban creek, spillways or roadside fishing videos? Never know what you will catch.
We always fish with worms and minnows and I have found that worms out perform minnows here in Alabama overall, but the fish tend to hit the worms within 30 seconds or less or casting so they have they reaction factor So with minnows I will leave on the lead for a while but if I know there are bass bedded down or a school of crappie shading, i will cast the worm over and over
The Lew's Xfinity is the best for the price point. Good job yes just cut a hook off the line don't pull the line out of the fishes throut just leave it. The only right thing to do for the fish. Or just keep it and eat it... Ethical fishing 🎣 only 👊🏼👊🏼👊🏼
Around KY we call them mud cats but I think the real name is a black bullhead I may be wrong because they are a yellow bullhead cat also..great video brother minners we're killing it!
@9:40 that hook wont rust out in that fishes lifetime. BUT most fish will be able to get stuck hooks out on their own within a day or three so dont worry
I always thread the hook through the worm and leave a little hanging. I usually get 3 to 4 bluegill with one worm. The fresher the better. I think the smell of the worms is more important than the action.
lol Lojo, you remind me of my friend. He never cuts the zip ties or plastic off his combos. Those worms looked like they seen better days. I think they were dead.
See lojo this is why I like your channel you actually like doing what you do and not using RUclips for money all the people that actually like doing their “job” doesn’t get popular but the people using RUclips for money are the biggest ones I hate RUclipsEDIT: and you actually like your viewers and reply to them I like that
I'm pretty sure its okay to pull their guts out I feel like I saw a video of Catfish and Carp doing it and they just retract their stomach back in as long as you dont smell anything foul after you pull the hookout
I don’t understand. I want to use worms and bobbers but people tell me that I shouldn’t use a bobber because I need the worm to be sitting near the bottom where the fish are. Is that true?
No. Bobbers have been around a long time, with numerous fish caught. If fish will go to the surface for frogs, bugs, crankbaits, and similar, they'll certainly go near the surface for your bait. The ideal is getting that bait close to where the fish are - logs, overhanging trees, weeds, man-made objects, and so on. In general, avoid empty open water. By the way, look into slip bobbers.

That was a bullhead. Probably a yellow or brown bullhead. Nice size one at that. Lojo's channels phrase should be, "Oh no! He got off!" Haha

Do a catch and cook video with the crappie🤷♂️
Interesting
“A worm eating alligator, very rare” 😂😂😭
You should use crickets and craw dads
sounds fun
I want you to use a live frog as bait 👍🏻
Ive never used frog does it work
Yes sir. I’ve caught a lite of bass and crappie on a live from. You just hook them through the lips 👍🏻
Wow i am used to just eating them but i will use them as bait next time thank you
I have used small frogs for bait. I want to use a big frog for bait.!
Caden D me too lol

Nice bullhead cat. Man I get most of my bites when I’m looking at my phone or just walking around haha. great video once again boss 👊🏻
My volume was all the way up in my headphones i almost had a heart attack hearing YAAAAAH as soon as the video started. 😂😂

I think the worm had the advantage because the sunfish will be all over it.
He isn't touching the rod with the worms why
And blue gill
Yes in India we too mostly use works and the work well...
LOL from india

I'm pretty sure that catfish was a Brown Bullhead (a nice sized one). It looked to have a round tail. Nice change of pace video.
you should do saltwater version like live shrimp vs mudminnows
Sounds fun
And mullet
Loved this challenge. On another note....ur looking healthier man. May God continue watching over u and ur family and keep catching fish 🎣
Thanks so much
Next time try fishing the worm on the bottom. Set it up like a small Carolina rig. That’s my favorite way to catch bluegills!
Never fished w/ Live Minnows myself, but I am going to have to give it a try!
do a catch and cook crappie video
Nothing like fishing with live bait!! Enjoyed
Do hand line bass fishing challenge
I kinda did today lolol
Do with no reel
In India we do prefer handline..but we don't have bass😌,but still there are awesome species we hook by hand line...
LoL from india

my step father says its a bullhead or yellow cat
bigrob I also was think it was a bullhead.
That was a smalll baby flathead cat. I catch yellow bullheads often and im 100 percent positive that thats something else lol
makes sense
LOL ur 100% wrong buddy.... bullheads has more whiskers then flatheads or channel cats first of all... secondly look at the rounded tail......

hope this clears up everything for everyone ^^
+TheSilverstonedwolf it's a yellowbelly you imbeci.
Great video lojo crickets and shiners would be pretty cool see you in our next adventure
Cool idea
The worms are half dead. You need some fresh worms.
Big worms on pickerel rig are so good
Yes I thought same way
I figured the minnows would kick ass and take names LOL

I don't know why but I always do better with a work and I never get any luck with minnows.
hmm
Fun video dude! I always catch more fish on worms when I chum the water really good with them first. Keep them coming man, I'm addicted to your style.
Good info
my opinion worms are better haha
they normally work lol
@@lojofishing yeah normally haha
Minnows usually catch bigger fish but not necessarily more
Yeees me too prefer worms as it can hook small mouth fish too, have hooked really nice size fresh water eels with worms...

I love using red wiggler worms. They're more lively than night crawlers
Its a yellow bullhead, they are pretty tough fish. I like minnow in the winter for crappie, and worms are great anytime

In Arkansas we call it a mudcat or a bullhead nice catch taste good if it’s the right size
I think a video of making your own reel/rod out of random objects and then catching fish would be awesome
sounds fun

What about using crawdads.
I have to go with minnows if given the choice...Both perform great though. Seems the worm has a bit of advantage because of size and smaller fish.

Coming soon
It usually helps if you cover the tip of the hook with the worm either way they are both great baits
good to know
Thanks first catfish was a yellow bullhead it makes awesome live flathead catfish bait
cool
That kind of catfish was a bullhead catfish. Do a catch clean and cook video with crappie.
You should’ve used that little bullhead catfish as bait for a big flathead or channel catfish at night time
