@@roberttaylor6030 I suppose if you’re clumsy, and you’re always running your leg into something then yeah you’re gonna bend the clip. 😂 I’ve never had any issues with wire clips personally. I get they are everyone’s favorite style.
Grabbed the blue with satin blade when they dropped on the 14th. Gotta have my blue 💙. Its on the way already from Amazon.😊 Thanks beez for the video 😊
Yes pretty much an Acorn with a top liner lock. My favorite pocket caring Vosteed is the Raccoon. The two are pretty much in the same class, I will go with the Raccoon.
Looks like this is basically an Acorn with a top liner lock. Clearly there are other minor differences, but it does have all the same good features. This lock is a great option to have. I am a wire clip fan. I don't mind the look, and it is better in the pocketing and hot spot categories. I like this new model and the price range.
I've seen a couple of other reviews today on this one, and everyone has said it has jimping but not aggressive enough. I still like the look of this one. It is very similar to the Miguron Moyarl in blade shape and thumb hole. Good review, Beez. Thanks
I don’t care if it’s a $40 or $400 knife. I want a wire pocket clip. A fancy wacky pocket clip is useless to me. I know that isn’t a popular opinion. But it’s mine.
I'm going to guess they called it the Porcupine because of all that minor jimping, or "spines", along the back. They're likely just mostly aesthetic to justify the name. Regardless, it looks like a winner overall.
It’s not a top liner lock. It’s a compression lock developed by Spyderco and now out of patent. Seeing Spyderco invented the lock it seems only fair the name they gave it should be used…My 2 cents.
Kevin smock made the lock. And i disagree personally. Everyone can have their own name to make things different. Can say the same thing about “axis” locks. I say spread the love more compression locks the better
@ Smock added the button. Spyderco developed the Compression lock. Spyderco put a lot of time and $ into developing the lock. The honorable thing to do would be to use the name they gave it. It’s like giving the Mona Lisa a different name. Pay homage to those who brought the creation to life.
While patents don't last that long, trademarks do. This is the reason other makers don't call locks Axis, Smock, or Compression locks. Everyone who's been around a while in the knife enthusiast community knows that crossbar lock means axis lock, and top liner lock means Smock lock. I really can't wait for the patents for super and shark locks to expire - I really think everyone going wild making their versions of those locks will be amazing.
The only back flipper on a knife that looks okay to me is the one on the Hedgehog (there may be one or two others like it, too) - short little flipper that's almost completely out of the way. All the rest of the flippers that stick way out the back and front of the knife look terrible to me.

Pretty Nice & Thanks Bez for another awesome review .Love the Top Liner locks & hope to see MORE !
I love wire clips !!! They don't show as much on the outside of your pockets that are smooth in and out of the pocket!
True, but they also bend easy.

@@seth_goodwin Had to get the insult in.

My thoughts exactly.
Cool knife. I like the one you have. Unfortunately, Amazon doesn't have that version. Thanks for showing. 🌜👈
I really like the profile of the Porcupine and it sounds like a good size
I got the same version. There will be a drop on the vosteed next month for anybody that missed out on the first one

cool knife. Thanks Beeez
I'm lookin'! I'm lookin'!
Got the same version yesterday. Love it!
Thanks for your continued great content!
Yep they're going to sell out quick
It looks a lot like my Miguron Moyarl. Just a little fancier and not a crossbar lock. Even the same blade material. But Moyarl was $20 cheaper.
That looks like one of those rosecrafts knives yeah Roosevelt Rosie or whatever it's called
ordered mine last night

I do like the compression lock and the slicer blade. Not sure how it’s a porcupine…
Beez, you're going to run out of jimping sound effects on this knife here!

I hate clips 😊
Knives with no back flipper are trash. Back flipper or bust.
That's your opinion, I don't really care for them that much.
Actually knife with a back flipper are trash. Ugly and no style. If I want a switch I would flip my lights on-off-on-off
