Yes, breathing techniques do activate the parasympathetic nervous system and it does calm you down. However, you are also sending a message to the brain that you didn’t like the way you were feeling and the brain can begin to be more hyper vigilant in noticing and reacting to anxiety sensations. I do recommend practicing breathing techniques as a scheduled stress relieving exercise like one might meditate or practice yoga, just not during an anxiety episode. The main thing to remember here is that one wants to always have a welcoming attitude towards anxiety and not an attitude of “I have to get rid of anxiety”.
@@jessicanilsson5941 , our brains are complex and there is so much that we do not know. Trauma triggers can certainly induce panic and healing may be more complex as well.

If You got unprocessed feelings is a part to recover or is it all about fight flight? I have abodontmant trauma/and Brianfog
