We older ladies are tired. Tired of cleaning tired of overhead tired of stuff tired of putting everyone before ourselves.! We're ready to live a simple life, low overhead, low cleaning, cheaper taxes. More money in our pocket books to do adventures make memories . Freedom from stress! Tiny gives us that option to live! Plus it's considered personal property if on a rented lot, so when we leave this planet no probate needed to transfer to our heirs.

Can you explain the why of the delay moving a tiny on to Buffalo Creek. People said the mountain has been 5 years and still not done. That’s scary having no place to go?
It's been 4 years, not 5, and the reasons for the delays are many. Lots of the people going to the Mountain are already living in their home on a temp lot in Tiny Town. Others have chosen to wait to move when it's finished, which will be happening soon.

My SIL pays $500 month in a rural area of SW Indiana
Wow! I live next door in Massachusetts and my rent in my mobile home park is $933 a month! Does your friend live in an over 55 park...mine is an all ages park with zero amenities? Even so, $200 is nothing to pay for lot rent!
Some of us run on 110 amps some of us run on 220amps

Should plant a bunch of fruit trees to feed everyone
We are already doing a fruit tree area. Grapes, blackberries, and blueberries too. Apple, cherry, pear trees in a few years now.
@@mertlemon1155 - That's wonderful! I have dwarf Asian Pear trees. So delicious. They are 20 years old and only about 16 feet tall, about 10 feet across. The fruit is crisp & round like an apple but taste like a pear. Juicy & sweet. Mine are blooming now.

Just FYI: You're right about how crazy prices are everywhere. I live on the Atlantic coast and found only TWO properties that allow for campers/tiny houses. They are literally the same size as your incredibox lots. They sell for $90 each. The owner says he'll rent one for $1,000 a month + utilities. So being able to OWN a home on a rented lot for $500 is a deal and $200 is a steal.
@@traceytheisen8067 Bottom line ITH is a business and to stay in business you need to recover some of your costs. Our homes are great prices our rents are a steal yet people still resent the company trying to make enough profit to keep our employees working and continue to maintain the communities. There are communities 45 min away that charge $90,000 for the rights to rent. It is not for everyone but we are filled with people who are loving it and that includes me.

I really hope you can continue to keep the lot rents reasonable. You are giving people the chance to live comfortably, which gives them security. Especially for someone on a limited income - that means so much. God is surely smiling on you two!
The LouAnne is a so much better design a 20 or 24ft is perfect, the stairs in back to the bedroom loft, then the bathroom, with the toilet under the stairs give you so much room, gives you, 7ft. Under the stairs and 5ft in the reg. Bathroom, not cramped! With 10 to 14ft. Livingroom space!!! Alot of wide open space, 2ft.for the kitchen, maybe 3ft. Maybe even a L shaped one!! You could put a Murphy bed in the Livingroom with bookcases on either side!! I bet you would sell more, makes more sense!!😊😊😊
That home is a great design but if you shrunk it you would have to eliminate quite a bit. Stairs have to be a certain size to be legal. In order to design the Luann it needed to be much larger

Sounds like you're eventually planning to raise the rents. Doesn't the middle part of TN get bad tornadoes?
We do not ever have plans to raise rents. Our rents vary from 200-300 depending on the amount of work the area takes to develop and maintain.
I'm from southwest FL (Hurricanes) and also wonder about tornados in middle TN verses East, TN ???

I don’t understand why someone would have to pay 30,000 and still pay rent of 200 a month. Just what is the 30,000 for? That should be the price and it’s yours. Outrageous. You started out being helpful to poor people but now your prices have skyrocketed and I can’t afford a home at all
Every developer gets their development costs back. Most do it by charging more than $500, $800, or $1,000/month lot rent. Maybe try to find a community that rents at the low end, close to $500/month. There are a couple near Newport, TN. Good luck! I know they fill up fast.

Reality Check! We purchase a MOBILE HOME. We can Put it anywhere we like. If you are like us, you will want a road to reach it, and power, and water and a sewage/ceptic system. Even on free land those are very expensive necessities that often take months to be installed - with government approval. Here those things are already up and operating. $200 - $300 a month is an incredible value for all of that. Good luck!

Amanda, me and my neighbor across the street used to make our houses in her back yard. They had many pine trees and therefore lots of pine needles (straw). We'd rake them into mounds which made our walls to all the different rooms.😂😂😂

@@annjames1837 yes I do blame them…unfortunately they are increasing the cost of land taxes and some of our counties are poorer counties. People that have lived here all their lives have a hard time paying their taxes now.

I've wanted a tiny house from ITH since watching your videos in 2019-2020 covid shutdown.. no matter how good the deal, my money's tied up in a home I couldn't sell. As soon as I could sell the interest on loans spiked .. and though I probably could have sold a bit cheaper .. the DOT decided to take some land, then tear up the countryside building a highway. What new owner wants to go thru 2 years of apocalyptic destruction? I keep holding my breath..
Our home sale is pending, too. But it's just a temporary delay. Praying often that we can get everything ready to sell within the next 12 months, get a fair price, 😢and move to Tennessee soon after. I'll add you to my prayers.

We used rocks and cones and wood to do the same thing in under the grand ground sweeping boughs of a Douglas Fir. I can feel the cool and sweet air still. Just rearranged current front room for summertime. It’s fun to rediscover and repurpose treasures that may have been sitting idle.
In this layout i love the swing door, but i would have moved it so the washer dryer was in the kitchen space and the door swung into the bedroom

They definitely took a hit but they are struggling to survive. They are being treated with fertilizer and tender loving care and hopefully it will help.

we do not track other communities besides ours but for us we only have Newport which is sold out and we have partnerships in Huntsville, AL, and an off grid community in NC and another in progress in NC

It depends on how much the development costs are. Since it's on pasture land, it won't take as long and shouldn't cost any more than Buffalo Creek.

If you go to the ITH website, there is a form you can fill out that goes to their email... and they will email you back.
The trees are planted WAY too close together. They need enough space to grow and spread out. The trees around the pond are going to drop leaves into the pond and they are so crowded. I love ITH, but hated to see how all those trees had been planted.
Everyone has their own ideas and this was Randy's. If you look around in forests, the trunks are around 5-6' apart but the canopies all crowded together and touching and that is the look he is going for. This is Randy's property so the final call is always up to him

Randy originally started in Sevierville is a huge community called Brother's Cove but he lost it in the market crash in '08 because of crooked banks. This is why he operates now without loans or liens of any kind. We do not have anything now in Sevierville and although we are only 40 min away we have nothing available here either.

There are many hurdles to get over when land is developed and more so when it involves Tiny Homes, Mobile an RV Parks. There is also competitors like the very powerful Real Estate Board of Realtors in each state and their local developers. Then add that the Federal Reserve just announced they will not be lowering interest rates this year which will further slow current "BIG HOME" sales and the pressure by competitors in the housing market to block tiny home developments becomes a real major problem not only in Tennessee but, everywhere. . It could be 2-3 years before there are more lots for these tiny homes in community settings. The only other option is to find towns and cities that will allow tiny homes in their communities but, it will be 3 to 4 times as expensive. In places like Florida the cost of land and permits, septic tank, utility connections could be up to $100K.

Unfortunately, the cost of land, dictates what the direction of housing will trend.
An acre or empty field will determine how many homes can be provided. You can create more housing by stacking units on top of each other. That means that the investors will also dictate how to provide potential housing units for individuals and families.
Will renting, leasing, or purchasing those apartments and condos create more raw profit for housing units? This is where integrity, compassion, profit, and heart condition of the visionaries begin to conflict.
Excited about the DC trip. I work right beside the Washington Monument at the DOC!
That trip is not definite yet. There is still a chance we will not attend
