It made them look like big armored roaches, still cute tho
I love how baby tortoises can just accept you as the big friendly giant that feeds and cares for them.

I love it when they stand on each other, genuinely the cutest thing about them. What a life, to be one of those tortoises. No predators, just a friendly giant that brings them food and all the time in the world to enjoy themselves.

I adopted mine at that size and now he is 70 pounds and lives freely in my backyard with a big soaking bowl, gets daily hose baths, has unlimited hay, a dog house, and loves attention and being with my dogs. I recommend getting a tortoise as long as you are prepared to properly take care of them for the rest of your life if they survive their average lifespan.
That is what I always say. I have my baby turtle and he is slowly getting use to me. He will come out now and eat as long as I'm five feet away or further xD

Its kinda cool seeing these little dudes just congregate together at the end of the day. I always took tortoises to be the stand alone kind of animal but maybe it's just their age.
No, the thing is, 90+% of the baby tortoises die before reaching adulthood in the wild.

Soooo little. Hard to believe how large they become. When I was 6, I was allowed to sit on a Gallapagos tortoise as he wandered around. An experience that I will always remember.

Apart from the wild, these are the luckiest tortoises in the whole world! You look after them so well 💕
I'd argue they have it better than the wild. No predators, no one to hurt them, no worry of not having food or water or having to find a borrow. They have a cozy life.
@@trishakauffman4621 -- that's like saying a human would be happier in prison! Wild animals would give up all free food/shelter etc. to give it a chance to be free! Why wouldn't they? Even after decades/generations of being caged.. zoo, circus, caged bears, tigers, apes etc. can be rehabilitated into the wild, where they belong.. human beings, after 30, 40 years behind bars.. can occasionally find it beneficial to re-group back into a human society too... the difference being, most wild animals didn't commit a crime, to find themselves behind bars to begin with 🤔
@@NannupTiger if they don't know any different they can't want something they never had. And there was a very large space for them to run around in. It's not like being locked in a cage.

I know nothing about tortoises but I love how spacious their living environment are. Instead of those small, cramped glass case I usually saw people putting them in, this is so much more humane and better.
They taste divine. Turtle soup with watercress and sliced aloe. It heals the 3rd and 4th chakra points. Soothes the outer spirit. Protection agsinst job loss and insecurities about job positions. It has a healing factor it 5 points which is very high.

I learned Arizona is the only state in the US that can support desert tortoises outdoors without any extra heating, UV etc.

Yep they are a native species. They also don't need to drink hardly any water. They get enough from their diet cuz it's mostly stuff like cactus fruit.

I have one of these cuties! I got her when I was 15 (I'm 31 now) and she is HUGE! She comes out daily right now to bulk up for winter. They are such social creatures; I love my big girl 💜😍

@@yourcrush4889 If you have the means to take care of them, I'd say get one! I made the sad mistake of getting one when I was 11 without knowing proper care; that baby sadly died. So, just make sure you are well educated! :) I wish you all the luck if you do get one of these amazing creatures!!!

Yea this was one is pretty great, but i think my #1 is of a baby monkey and a kitten and the momma cat, the monkey is trying to tell the mom the kitten is out of their little bed n when the mom just lays there he tries to pick the kitten up. It looks like he's really worried about the kittens lol, then they both go cuddle up with momma cat. It was freaking cute.

I fell in love with turtles/tortoise and reptiles after I briefly stayed with some friends that had a luxury setup for their turtles and frogs in their house (they got better food than the humans from Whole Foods) and I would help care for them. Seeing your posts reminds how cool they are and will one day get some little ones of my own.
I’ve had my Russian tort for 16 years now and they are amazing pets. So adorable and don’t smell lol.
I’ve had a pet Leopard Tortoise for 10 years now. I got him as a tiny (1 1/2”) 2-week old hatchling and he’s about 12” now. Baby turtles/tortoises are cute and very amusing.
