Yes, those are earring backs for non-pierced ears. The little screw tightens the earring to the earlobe. I used to use them. But they made my earlobes pretty sore most of the time! Beautiful wall lights!! I just love how you design these things! ❤

@@tinykeyholeminisa good use for these! It’s hard to find the ones with the prongs anymore but if you are looking to replace your stash later they are called “screw-back” earring findings. I haven’t seen them in base metals (which the ones you have look to be) but have seen them in surgical steel, gold-filled and sterling. Yeah, I know, a little spendy. Fire Mountain Gems in OR sells them in large quantities and that makes them a whole lot more affordable.
(I have a concern about the hot glue guns and I hope you are in a well ventilated space… heating up plastics (that aren’t meant for food) can release phthalates which are carcinogenic. I’m living with someone who’s undergoing chemo so please take this seriously. It’s awful.)

Hi Miss Tinykeyholeminis, I love these gas lamps, they're gorgeous 😍 For the glass tubing you can also use plastic pipettes from art shops. You can buy a big bag of them for about $2, and they last forever because they're long tubes and you only need a small piece for each lamp. I like how you use jewellery findings, like bead caps and tiny screws, to add realistic detail. Thank you for a great video tutorial. Love from Amanda Jones in Melbourne, Australia ❤❤❤

Nope, there is no need for either on the smaller ones, and you can easily file the opening back to shape after cutting. ❤️🥰

I start with a base of black acrylic or chalk paint. Chalk paint works better on metals. And I use a variety of brands and colors. Mostly folkart Metallic paints. Antique gold, antique copper, silver, even rose gold. Or I will use chrome paint. I used antique copper for these, then I finished off with a little of antique gold rub and buff. That comes in all the colors if you can find it. I only have antique gold. Hope this helps.🥰❤️

@aneia6353 sorry for the typos. It's metallic paints by folkart
Usually I will show what paints I'm using. I like folkart when it comes to metallic colors, but any acrylic works, some brands are thinner than others and need to be applied with more than one coat.
