I will say though, when it comes to John-Paul and Nancy, I never saw them as "best friends". They were just the only two left out of a high school friendship group. I mean Sarah died, Hannah moved away and Craig has been in and out of John Paul's life so much that he may as well have been a case of seasonal flu. After what happened with Finn, they had a bond. However, I don't think they've ever really been close enough to be considered anything more than simply "old friends".
