I have been able to diagnose my own faults on my Samsung Y buffer boards. Saved me a lot of money being able to just order the parts than to buy a brand new one. A big thumbs up pal
Hi, thanks for your very practical and explanatory video. I have a quick question, maybe you could help me. I have a 50'' Samsung plasma that is not working. The screen is black. When i opened it i saw (and smell) how couple of the IC where burning, and they have a small hole now. I'm pretty sure that they are not working, without even making your test.. My question is.. is it possible to me to solve the problem just replacing the Y buffer boards by new ones, or they could get burned again because the main issue comes from the other supplier board? Thanks so much.
hi I have hitachi plasma tv model no. is 42PD300TA Problem with my TV when i switch it on it gives proper display of picture imdtly after 4-5 second screen completely blurred with black spots and again it comes back and goes off after each 10 second and after some time it goes blurred only i called a technician he told we have to change Y Z board on panels so can u pls help me to give some idea to repair economically
What is simptoms when is short on y buffer?on my plazma when y buffer is connected then Va qnd Vs voltage going down to 0, but tv not getting in loop, if y buffer disconnected from y main, then voltages remining as should be
The point is confirming the board is bad, so you don't waste time and money buying the wrong part. I wouldn't suggest amateurs try component level repairs on Y buffer boards. They are a real pain, even with the right equipment. You can usually find good used ones on eBay for less than the cost of repairing one.

i have a vizio jv50P hdtv10A and the y buffer has heat sinks on it so im kinda lost on where the ground is on this one ?

What's the point other than confirming the board is bad? Do you actually suggest amateurs (like me) get down into component level swaps?

if it's a tv sometimes it wont display a picture or the image will be fuzzy
