I'm doing props for a play at my local community theatre, and need to make a prop cake. This is the most helpful tutorial I’ve found. Thank you so much!
Do you put anything heavy in the bottom of the cup so not to tip , I use bolts , and I glue it to the heavy items to put at the bottom and add a lot of beautiful toppings . I like everything about you vibe oh and when I glue them into cup they don’t jiggle and bounce up and down
And here I been telling people about this method for dummie cakes thinking I was the original one to come up with this method then I see this post from 2014! I am happy to see the cupcake creation also...these things are so expensive to buy but they make great props for photos....thanks again
Great tutorial! Thank you SO much for sharing how to make these darling cupcakes! I have been eyeing several cupcakes and cakes on Etsy and Oh My, are they expensive! I just knew I could probably make them! You made it look so easy!
love this tutorial, found it by accident. I have been wanting to do some faux cupcakes but didn't know how to, you make it seem so easy and fun. I will be having ago tomorrow when I've got supply's, Thank you so much for sharing, yours look so nice. Cannot wait to see if my children and grandchildren think they can eat them, :)
Love it! Im turning my house into a giant gingerbread house for Christmas and this will help make my faux candies look like they're stuck on with icing!
Love it! Beautiful! Thank you so much for sharing this awesome tutorial, you make it look so fun and so easy. I can't wait to make some cupcakes. I know my mom will absolutely love these.
Hi, I am new to your videos. I use Fabri Tac for everything also. I just started doing fake stuff,it is so fun. I am really messy also, I get more on my fingers then the product.
You did a great job Norma I think you said.I like your style as you just have fun and enjoy.I get nervous wanting it perfect after messing with a plastic knife and it will start to get a little set up I resort to the finger.I am going to just go with what you did and and just use my finger. Maybe I will have better luck.Thank you for sharing.
I love your cupcake and how you made it. I also love your FUN personality! Question: did you water down the joint compound at all? I was told to use lightweight spackle and it’s much thicker. I couldn’t even get it through the decorating squeeze bag and tip.
The cupcake looks great and very pretty. Do they ever get top-heavy because nothings in the cup to help hold it down? I really like how you made them and save a lot of money.
Hi, no they are really light. I still have the one i made 6 years ago. It’s foam, although I’m sure if you add layers of the joint compound it might get heavy but with one layer your fine
lol. I love the way you think Norma!! ......."plus I can use this around the house" that really does look like buttercream frosting. Very cleaver to use the Sheetrock mud with a little paint. I think once you try using the decorator tips you are going to go to town with that Sheetrock mud!! I'm by no means a pro at cake decorating but with a few youtube videos you will be amazed at how really easy it is. I'm new to your channel and look forward to seeing more of your videos. Thanks.

Southern Angel Btq. Tammy Dameron hi they are from wild orchid crafts (WOC) uk company however you can also buy similar flowers from ebay under mulberry roses =) Thank you for your comment!
OMG!!!! I wish I found your video first!!!! lmao I have wasted sooooo much plaster trying to work fast before it hardened and it woldnt stick to the hat box and and and lol..... joint compound,,,im getting some.... how long to dry?
+Debbie Como Hi Debbie! =) let me see.. if I remember correctly I believe it took one night... since I normally craft at night. so I would say 24 hours but you'll notice it once it dries though.. however you want to stick in all your embellishments on it and let it dry so they harden in place. =) Thanks for your comment!~

applying a wet paper towel on top then smoothing it will make it smoother or wax paper and a roller.

Hello, can you use tile adhesive?
Honestly don't know. I would experiment to see what you get. Try it with a dollar tree foam..:)
