    Just thought I would mention a little tip. Everyone has been asking about the straw getting clogged after use. When I'm done I just take the straw off the can, then I take a long pipe cleaner Big bag of them at Walmart for cheap), and put in the straw, twisting as I push it through. The straw is clean as a whistle when done. Make sure to do this while the foam is still wet. Hope this helps.😉

      My question is how do you keep the foam from rushing out after you use on each cupcake?
      It keeps spewing out and I have to put a latex glove over it and wrap it but it's kind of difficult

    You are absolutely awesome!!! I have been looking all day everywhere how to make faux cupcake to show off my crafted cupcake stand. After 12 hours of looking, I gave up and went to work around the house, as I sat down to rest your channel pop up. I looked at about over 50 videos. None of them makes sense like yours. A magnet in the bottom, instead of paper clips, will allow you to put them on the fridge. Also, for display purposes on windy days, they would stay put on a display board with magnets or a strip of metal counter sunk in it.

      I read a tip that said leave the straw on and within 2 hours of using, put a pipe cleaner wet with wd40 or goo gone all the way inside the straw and leave it there until next use. A few others said take straw off and rinse nozzle with goo gone. I tried the first since I couldn't unscrew the straw for some reason. I'm hoping it works.

    HI. I'm new to your videos, just found them & am marathon watching them now. Love them. I have questions to start out (some I found answers to below already or added questions onto others posts). I'm looking to do fake foods for costume props & placing onto costume pieces so I need things that hold up being transported, worn on costumes, handled a lot, maybe bumped etc...
    1. How brittle & fragile are they? Someone used some expanding foam stuff here around our house & some underneath a hot tub's wooden encasement /walling outside (here in NW Oregon, USA where it rains most of the year & temps range from 20F - 90F) ~ it seems like it is flaking & breaking off (smaller pieces). Trying to see if they'll hold up for costuming & if can wear for both indoors & outdoor events.
    2. Can you do/ have you done update videos on your creations so we can see how they have held up over time & any new advice/tips/things you've learned?
    3. Can you include the list of supplies in the description box? I found them by reading comments but that is time consuming & noticing many others asking for them also.
    I'll have more questions I'm sure. ;) Thank you!

    Hello! Might I ask one question. I’m finding my spackling is way creamier. It’s great for frosting but when it goes through a piping bag it’s too thin. I added flour and it’s perfect. Sorry if this is a dumb question but would adding flour ever make it go moldy over time or would it be safe?

    • @thepinktree3490
      @thepinktree3490  3 года назад

      I personally have never had mold in my spackle but I know some people have!I’m not sure why!Always make sure after you make an item to let it dry really well in the sun or on a window sill .That’s what I do!

    I found your channel a month back. I teach crafts to retired people. We’ll be making these at the end of the month. The only difference is I made my cupcake with a firm pop Pom. Today, I had fun frosting it with the lightweight spackle. Towards the end of the day, I was checking it and bumped it a little bit. The drying spackle came right off. Do you have any suggestions on how to keep it on the Pom Pom (cupcake)? Should I hot glue it a day or so later? Or do you think I should put caulking on prior to spackling with the piping tip? LOL I’m trying to figure out a way they won’t fall off because I would have to go to each location that I teach a day later. Thanks so much for sharing these incredible fun faux treats!

      I’m so excited to tell you I just finished teaching these cupcakes to my 4 retirement classes. They came out so beautiful. Not as fancy as yours, but the elderly were so happy!!! My first set of frosting dripped a lot, so we added the flour. It got a little lumpy, but it still looked great - like a glaze. I realized it was 99degrees that day and the spackle had been in my car. So I put a large container of spackle in my fridge for the other classes and it kept it at the perfect temperature and no flour was needed for the rest of the classes. I wasn’t to thank you for sharing your talent. I wish I could show you the pictures of each one. I ended up using a cherry size styrofoam ball for the cherry. Put it on a skewer and everyone put glue on the styrofoam ball and then dipped it in ruby red glitter. Reminded me of Dorothy’s shoes from the Wizard of Oz. I bought miniature pinwheels as a cute item to put in the spackle/frosting. Everyone had huge smiles when they were done. Thanks again!
