Why do you even need to ask if we want a review of that Puma shoe? It's an absolute banger! Stop your messing around and get started on the review asap....😉
I hope you're wrong about the Puma Elite 3's midsole being softer! With each day that passes and with each launch of a new, softer sneaker, the more I hate this word. When will manufacturers definitely focus on making firm running shoes, responsive at the moment of fatigue and with high performance instead of pleasing a self-indulgent generation that just wants to run with the comfort of a walk in a shopping mall? This is why Adidas has won most of the long races with the Adios PRO3 and now with the Evo1, the Takumi Sem is the best between 5km and 21km and Nike itself despite having a much lighter Vapor Fly Next its Elite athletes use a heavier Alpha Fly but with the air/gas sphere in the front for greater firmness and responsiveness. And that's why the Assics Edge is superior in performance to the Sky and so on, not to mention the NBalance which continue to go from bad to worse because they are so soft and buttery!
Couldn't agree more. Compared to Deviate Nitro Elite 2, do we need a softer shoe, a higher stack, more comfort? Responsiveness, light weight, and stability is what I prefer. The Elite 2 offered this already, but I suppose if Puma could improve the shoe, I would go for improvements in these areas.
So stoked for both the Deviate 3 and Elite 3 from Puma. Though, I sure hope they don’t screw up the Deviate 3 as the 2 is one of my all time favorite do-everything shoes.😅
Zilch to do with these but tried out the AF3 today. Felt like was wearing a couple of house bricks. Rounded ones at that. Waaaay too much shoe for a lightweight like me! Can imagine would be good for more solid/heavier runners but definitely not me. Just as well 💸💸!
I’m not gonna lie Ed, i enjoyed the closer to ground feel of the DNE2 it feels like a shoe i can use at the track, too much compression and it’s hard to take the turns
Well, Puma will have to have really screwed something up for me to NOT try the DNE 3, and you're right, the first version was super light and really well cushioned for a marathon-worthy race shoe.
I woyld have thought if Joey Barton was a foam he would be a lively exciting foam. He definitely wouldn't be a dull foam . After usung the zegama original i can confidently say alan shearer would be that type of foam dull boring predicable......nike Pegasus would be your danny Murphy type of pundit utterly safe wont rock the boat. Now your supercritical type of foams would obviously be your Roy Keane type of pundit.
Re the Mount to Coast shoe lacing option. Just tie a knot halfway up then continue the lacing and use that for the lockdown. I have done that with a couple of shoes and it prevents you from overtightening the lower laces and causing problems in the forefoot.
Elite 3’s have all the design elements of the homermobil..but in this instance looks awesome..looking forward to it and in that sticker laden telephone box glory
I’ve got an arthritic left knee and wear a pair of the first Zegamas as a daily going about my business shoe. It’s very comfortable for that, although treacherous when walking the dog in the wet. I switch between that and a pair of Puma ForeverRun Nitro. Both good for my knee. Although now it’s shorts weather I’m leaning more towards my Saucony Xodus Ultra because I look less like a golf club when sporting a pair. And River Man is one of the best songs ever 👍🏼
The Peg Trail 4s were an absolute surprise to me. If I didn't know they were destined to be trail shoes, I could easily have considered them a versatile road daily driver...
Love Puma running shoes. The outsole on the Velocity Nitro 2 and Deviate Nitro 2 work well on many surfaces. I purchased both based on the reviews here and I’m looking forward to the DN3. 🎉
Just finished a trail run in Zegama 2, first hour was sunny, second hour was a complete downpour on steep root/rock gnarly terrain so I had the whole spectrum in one run. Didn’t expect much from them but, damn, they really surprised me and quickly knocked my speedgoats off their top spot in my rotation.
@@EDDBUD, I'm about the same shoe size. If you're not doing loooong trail runs, these are probably overkill. They seem perfect for ultras where you need that kind of protection to run 5+ hours. FYI, the Peg Trail 5 is a banger. It isn't meant for crazy technical trail but it's a great cruiser for chill trails. It has the perfect amount of stack.
I agree, shorter runs I’d like something a little lighter and zoom-ier feeling but I’m definitely going to look forward to using these for longer days.
Some interesting stuff today..I always look for a good long run shoe..may have to try that one and the puma..been waiting for puma to up their game ..the OGs were OK, but nothing that really fit the bill for me except the fastr..that one just a needed little tweaking to be really good..
Interesting. I didn’t spot that. It’s not so clear on the black pair. These days I think people are missing common sense so perhaps this is Nikes attempt to teach left and right?!
Mizuno’s Neo Vista has caught my eye! Also interested in the mount to coast offering, so looking forward to your review on that. Thanks for your great videos, Edd!
I hate to be a Debbie Downer, but the Mount to Coast website says their only shipping to the US for now. I would hold your powder on these because I think something better is coming down the pike. The Topo Spector 2 is coming out in August. A 37/32 stack height only weighing 7.6 oz. in a size 9. Midsole is 100% pebax with no plate. $165 USD. A long run version of the highly praised Cyclone 2. Topo has a UK website now with free shipping and 10% off the first purchase.
The Zegama 2 is a modest 366g in a UK size 11 😂 The best thing about the release of the Puma Nitro Elite 3 is the possibility of picking up the Elite 2 on a heavy discount. I got a pair of the first Elite for £85, which was absolutely fantastic value for money.
I agree all your yays and nays. Mount to Coast is an interesting new entry to the market (apparently a Hong Kong company). R1 model does not have rubber outsole. R1R has rubber added. The black zero-sag insert, is from german BASF and an ultra athlete named Justin Montague covered 854 miles in 146 Hr and 44 mins using one pair of Mount to coast R1 (in the JOGLE ultra - from John O’Groats to Land’s End in UK) At a digestable price it is an interesting shoe to try. I don't think PUMA Deviate Nitro Elite 3 will be less weight than 2 if they bumped up the stack. The upper doesn't look any lighter. V1 upper was far lighter than v2 but v2 upper had a better lockdown.
Gotta disagree with your Nay for the Zegama 2? Lots of great things being shared about this shoe from other channels, including the dudes over at Conversational Pace, who have a combined 700 miles in the shoe and say it could be the best trail shoe Nike has ever made.
React X in the Infinity Run 4 is grim, I really hope this isn’t the same in the Pegasus 41 or Trail 5. Final nail in the coffin I think, been going downhill since the 37 surfaced and other brands have shoes that are so much better. The Trail 4 is a great shoe though, it feels much better underfoot than the 39 road shoe.
Im still rocking the DNE1's. Got a 5k TT coming up in the next 8 weeks, was thinking about picking up the Takumi sen but afraid the lack of stability won't gel well as my right foot pronates a little. Whats your thoughts on the DNE1 compared to the TS9 or 10? Thanks for the content m8.
Hi Edd, thanks for your usual excellent previews. 🙂 As a Puma cult convert, I'm interested in the Nitro Elite 3, and that colorway and upper design are incredible. 😎 My one complaint about Puma is there are odd release dates for shoes.🤔 I would think they would time this shoe release in sync with the Paris Olympics. Late Fall/Early winter for a race shoe misses most of the big races for the plebs. I guess in the warmer countries, that might not matter, but it still seems odd to me. 🤷🏻
Why do you even need to ask if we want a review of that Puma shoe? It's an absolute banger! Stop your messing around and get started on the review asap....😉
🤣👍🏼
Can't wait for Superblast 2 and Puma Deviate Nitro 3
Those are in my top 2. 🤣👍🏼

We should boycott Asics, since they make supershoe that cannot be bought 😔
Does anyone notice after switching out of carbon plated shoe to a “regular” shoe a dead leg feeling when your running
I get the other way round 🤣👍🏼
Elite 3 is my most hyped racing shoe this year… could be the next endorphin pro 3 type shoe for so many people
Foam version of Joey Barton 😂😂😂😂
Puma Deviate Nitro Elite 3 is a YAY for me. Along with the Adios Pro 4 when it drops they both should be good releases.
Both potential bangers
So stoked for both the Deviate 3 and Elite 3 from Puma. Though, I sure hope they don’t screw up the Deviate 3 as the 2 is one of my all time favorite do-everything shoes.😅
Yeah it’s so wearable the v2. Due to the less maxed stack you can use them for training and general use as well.
Zilch to do with these but tried out the AF3 today. Felt like was wearing a couple of house bricks. Rounded ones at that. Waaaay too much shoe for a lightweight like me! Can imagine would be good for more solid/heavier runners but definitely not me. Just as well 💸💸!
There’s loads less foam now in those. It’s all about loading those air units
Pegasus Trail 5 looks very promising Road to Trail kind of shoe, like the 4.
Zegama just too brick-like
Yeah the peg trail is more my vibe. Good experiences in the last few of those.
excited on the dne3, I passed on the dne2 so this will be cool additiion team puma.
Edd, did you get that wild Tracksmith PR bonus? They've changed the terms a little, but it's still going.
Not sure I know about that. Haven’t heard from those cars in a while
Yay Pumas!
Mount to coast available in Europe?
Coming soon
I’m not gonna lie Ed, i enjoyed the closer to ground feel of the DNE2 it feels like a shoe i can use at the track, too much compression and it’s hard to take the turns
I hear you. Ran a 1:32 not far off pb in those. Superb shoe
Love that Puma colour way! Midsole profile reminds me of forever run. Although the back looks weird!
Pace range of 6 min and 13 min per mile seems quite wide.
If it’s a hilly course then it might be perfect!
@@EDDBUD indeed
Puma I beg you😂 Also any news on Deviate nitro 3 (for us non elites)?
Later in the year by the looks!
You know me if it's a Puma the answer is yes 😊👍
Well, Puma will have to have really screwed something up for me to NOT try the DNE 3, and you're right, the first version was super light and really well cushioned for a marathon-worthy race shoe.
Love the Yea or Nay segments. Best shoe reviews on RUclips (IMHO). Thank you Edd, keep em' coming.
I appreciate that!

Keane never happy. Even when the game has been superb he finds a way to be upset. 🤣
I don't know why they are waiting so long to release the Elite 3. But works for me since I might need it for a fall marathon.
Maybe to give it the best chance to shine as so many other models have been out in the last 4 months.
The DNE3 looks like the Forever Run Nitro’s…
A little like those but clearly with the plate.
Immediate Q on that Mt to Coast shoe is how it would be as a marathon shoe for 3:45-4:30 runners?
Don’t see why not! Tons of very consistent cushion by all accounts.
Re the Mount to Coast shoe lacing option. Just tie a knot halfway up then continue the lacing and use that for the lockdown. I have done that with a couple of shoes and it prevents you from overtightening the lower laces and causing problems in the forefoot.

Love Nick Drake. Seems to be ever popular year on year

Yes they did lots of things really well
I wear mine as a golf shoe.😊
@@raymondbooth3189 they can do it all. I’ll pair them with a sports jacket lol

The deviate elite 3 has produced some big results on the elite feet. Hope they appear soon
We have to wait until august for the DNE3 ?? 🥲🥲🥲
It may be the case. 😭
The lacing of the Mount to Hood is spot on, but I was even thinking that it could work well reversed.
Mount To Coast! Yes! Looks fascinating
Yay Puma! Nay Nike!
DN3 and Mount ot Coast are very interesting. Looking forward to review of the latter.
My favorite series on the channel
Thanks for tuning in!
Mount to coast looks very interesting. And so do the puma.
👊🏼🤖‼️
So I love my Strung v1, it is showing signs of wear, should I replace with the same again, or the Strung v2?? Thanks
The 2 isn’t quite the same. Heavier and not as fun sadly
Banger alert
Running is the best
Cheers Edd, did I see an L and R on the back of each of the Peg Trail shoes, a useful innovation that others will follow?!
Interesting. I didn’t spot that. It’s not so clear on the black pair. These days I think people are missing common sense so perhaps this is Nikes attempt to teach left and right?!
Peg trail 5 👍

Keep up the great work! Appreciate you!
Appreciate it!
I like the look of that 3rd version of the Elite from The Cats, that'll please Mr Chin!
59 is off the menu. 🤣
@@EDDBUD 😂
The Puma looks higher stacked and more rockered. I don't know how they would lighten it though unless the new Nitro Elite foam is much lighter.
A slightly lighter shoe will no doubt win some new customers over
Mizuno’s Neo Vista has caught my eye! Also interested in the mount to coast offering, so looking forward to your review on that. Thanks for your great videos, Edd!

Deviate nitro elite 3 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥 no need to say much else.

Thanks for tuning in
Thank you very much for your valuable Info!

Was about to purchase the puma elite 2s last week good thing I didn’t, I’m definitely be waiting on them 3s. Love the colorway! Great video edd
Some way off yet by the looks. The discounted elite 2 is worth picking up though
The Nike outlets always seem to be full of the Peg trail in all the colourways conceivable
Nice!

Ignore Nike trail. Get the Puma
Picked up a minty copy of Five Leaves Left on vinyl recently, such a great album to just relax and focus on the subtle nuances of his playing.
Yes the playing itself shows amazing right hand touch. Such intricate picking
Guild M-20 with silk and steel strings is what I’ve always heard. Plus his alternate tunings
Dear Algorithm, these are all shoes.
NIKE PEGASUS TRAIL 5 is the best daily driver EVER from Nike. Perfect for where we live. cant wait for Goretex versions too.

The Zegama has had the zoom x reconfigured, you might be surprised by the responsiveness, looking like a better offering than the peg trail
I’m glad to hear that!
I deviate nitro in true sense, took the same feel of peg turbo forward, and made it better. Definitely picking up the v3. 🍻
Yeah it’s certainly looking like that
Foam version of Joey Barton is an iconic line. Absolutely phenomenal.
He is quite the EVA.
Do u think the nitro elite 3 could fight with asics paris, alphafly3
The 3 looks to be very light. Keen to see how it shapes up.
DNE 3 is aYAY!!!
Nike trail just don't do it for me to be honest, Peregrine is the way to go for a great all rounder!
I do like the new peregrine. Need to get my review of that out soon
With the extra stack height, the deviate nitro 3 should be a banger
Yes i have heard from puma directly that i am wrong on the foam! Its all the softer nitro elite!
