    This product will work well with a thickly and tightly bristled grout bush. I used one I buy at Walmart for under $2. You have to get a foam build up going as you scrub and allow it to activate for at least 5- 10 minutes while you progress to other areas before rinsing. The results are pretty impressive & better than the pumice stone, (since this past year I ingnored the problem too long and the pumice was hardly doing anything). I live in AZ and the calcification film can get very tough despite the best water balancing practices.

    300 tile cleaner works great! I used it on my route. So much easier then having to scrub the tiles with a pumice stone. I also used Bio Dex stain out. It worked great too removed all the stains, and my customers were very happy!

    This will be an effective product for light build-up, and scum introduced by the body...for thick calcium build up you may want to consider blasting the surface first as seen is this video: How to Bead Blast Tile - Ultimate Pool Guy HD w/ Multi-Tork !!!
    ...and than use the 300 Tile Cleaner on a maintenance dose to keep the work looking good, and prevent the calcium from returning

    Yo Mike how about a video removing scale off rocks? Or is it the same process? Rock on 🤘 man!!!

    • @UltimatePoolGuy
      @UltimatePoolGuy  4 года назад +3

      rocks can be tricky sometimes...if it is natural stone (real rocks) then it is sometimes effective to simply pour straight acid or a water/acid mix straight on the area that needs help and let the acid work the white stuff off and rinse off...if the rock is fake then you risk permanently damaging the finish or paint or faux finish or whatever if you try this method...also sometimes a fine wet/dry sandpaper can help or in other cases a bead blast is required and normal/reasonable to ask for that ...long answer but it is a case by case basis on this stuff

    Help Ultimate Pool Guy. We have thick calcium deposits on our tile. I was going to get in the water to apply and scrub off. Is that not a good idea if i wear gloves and eye protection and maybe a respirator? I don’t want to hang over the tile to clean.

      The stuff is sticky and messy I would recommend reading the label on the bottle as far as I recommended practice of how to use it
      Whatever you see here in the video is a relatively safe and practical way to use the product

    This left a white chalky haze on tile . Whats best way to remove

    • @UltimatePoolGuy
      @UltimatePoolGuy  Год назад +1

      a light acid solution on a sponge is a great way to work around the pool
      this would be the same acid you use to maintain the pool water (muriatic acid)
      its also possible that the glaze is completely off the tile, in that situation you may see some permanent "chalky-ness" in some areas or all around
      additionally you can contact Lori Brumagin at Bio-Dex personally if nothing else works and see what she has to offer in the way of solutions
      hope that this helps

  • @UltimatePoolGuy

    June, nowhere in the video do we endorse a 5 minute working time...the product should be left on for a period of time longer than 5 minutes...it should be applied using a sponge or similar applicator and left on till you can visibly see the calcium dissolving, some scrubbing maybe necessary, then rinsed away clean...multiple applications may be necessary depending on how stubborn your calcium is

    • @michaelk.martin1174
      @michaelk.martin1174 8 лет назад

      Sometimes I recommend bead blasting right from the beginning really depends on the job and results desired

    • @MrHarmonizr
      @MrHarmonizr 8 лет назад

      thanks, i just got into the pool tile cleaning biz, your bead blast video was a great help, have you or do you ever use baking soda for blasting?

    • @michaelk.martin1174
      @michaelk.martin1174 8 лет назад

      No...that is process called Soda Blasting and usually requires a different pressure pot set-up...depending in what part of the country/world you live that may be a better process for you

    • @michaelk.martin1174
      @michaelk.martin1174 8 лет назад

      oh ok, you may want to consider an abrasive set up similar to the one shown in our video...its very versatile...you can load it with glass bead, sand, crushed glass or walnut shell...really depends on the application...the unit in the blast video we did is a 1 cu. ft. Clemco Pressure Pot with some slight modifications to it

    • @UltimatePoolGuy
      @UltimatePoolGuy  5 лет назад +1

      hello thank you for writing in...when we do this type of work we will usually mask off the tile line...you can try using a diluted acid solution and a sponge and try to gently work it off...start with a weak solution and gradually work your strength up...you can also try a pumice stone available at your local pool store...dunk it in water and scrub

      Try a diamond cup wheel on an angle grinder
      Or for thick stuff a chipping hammer will also work

    • @UltimatePoolGuy
      @UltimatePoolGuy  10 лет назад +1

      300 Tile Cleaner is basically a light acid solution in a jelly form...the white stuff left behind is simply left over product that has dried on your tiles...you can use a green scour pad from your kitchen and warm water, you can use a light diluted acid solution using pool acid and water mixed 50/50 to start and the same green scour pad...wear gloves for either method...scrub gently and this should clear up the white haze left behind

    Just bought this product yesterday based on this RUclips video... used it exactly as described, leaving it on for the 5 minutes. It did ABSOLUTELY NOTHING to the calcium deposit on our pool tile. The only thing that works is elbow grease (much hard work using a pumice stone). Deceptive advertising... the strength of your product must be more than the BIO-DEX 300 that we bought today from our local pool supply.
