I just got a Jazzmaster like yours and it plays great. Sweetwater did a great set up. It has a great country sound. All most as good as a Telecaster. That twang ya need.

They are far better than I was expecting. You are right - killer sound for country and Americana.

Very impressive guitar and tones! I think you have a winner there Tony. I really liked this review. The settings on your amp made it easy to differentiate the pickups and switches.

Sure cool to have another local viewer. Seem's like more people in England and Australia watch my videos than folks just down the road!

Yeah, I'm going for one, specifically to do some Ventures cover instrumentals.

Do you think the nut has varnish on it causing the yellow part? It almost looks like it is in line with the fretboard. Sounds great for sure.

Good question. I'll have to check it out closer at lunch today.

How do you find the finish on the neck Tony? Last month I bought a 70's vibe Tele Custom, & quickly returned it. I found the 'gloss urethane''vintage tinted ' neck too uncomfortable, it was like someone got at it with Yacht varnish. I also found the E & B strings very dull & lifeless , like there was too much tension on them, I was sad to return it, but it wouldn't have been played much & I wasn't going sanding the neck, I'm sure it would find a home Elsewhere. With the refund I bought 2 cheaper guitars a Squier Strat, which after a bit of work & blocking the trem is ok, & an Ibanez AX120, which played fine straight out of box,& despite owning 2 Gretsch guitars, the cheap Ibanez currently gets the most play.

I hear what you're saying about the AX120. I love mine. As to the neck finish on the Jazzmaster - no big deal to me. It is the same kind of Fender gloss finish I've encountered on so many of their other guitars. I would have preferred the satin finish, but no deal-breaker to me. Only issue is the slight buzz I'm getting from the pickups. I'm going to get that sorted and then I think I'm pretty happy with this one. Many thanks for watching and commenting.
