@@NicioTrevinoYeah but really good fighters knows when they land the punch or kick. You'll notice this with fighters at the top of their game. @gabecballou5303 well first off they fight in an entertainment industry that without fans or people watching wouldn't get paid. Second off there are more than enough people in this video alone that didn't keep hitting after the person was clearly knocked out. Thirdly I've been watching ufc since the 90s. I was going to be in the ufc until an injury took that sport away from me.

@gabecballou5303 No one forced him to live like that. It's his choice but RESPECT is mutuel. That's what makes the difference between a disciplined fighter and an animal.
A lot of times it isnt out of malice but muscle memory. From my own personal experience sometimes in heated exchange i black out and goes into tunnel vision. It feels like your body moves on your own. Youre still concious but it feels like your mind is out of your body. i fought an amateur match when i was in my early 20s. First time i went into a tunnel vision. The guy that i faced was really good and was about to move up to go pro. He went for a low with a bodyshot , i countered with a hook but missed. Every shot i took missed him. He kept aiming for my body. It felt like hours despite it was just seconds. When he tried to go low again last i remember was thinking "eat the body , step forward and right hook , if i miss and he ducks i go for left upper if he goes inside if outside i reset. I dont remember much after that i didnt even know whether what punch landed to knock him out. All i know is that he didnt went in for the body but an overhead directly to my face. It all went black , i can still hear the audience and referee i just could see nor move willingly. When i snap back he was knocked out. I talked to mma guys who practice in our gym and they say same thing out of desperation your body just move on its own. Months of practice and your body is engraved of that knowledge on how to move.
Reflexes. Adrenaline. Viewpoint. If a pro fighter actually recognizes that their hit KO'ed the opponent, there's no advantage to keep striking. They're on camera. However, you don't always notice that it's a KO at the exact second it happens. It's EASY to see from the POV of a spectator or via the camera. Not so much in the moment and from the fighter's POV.
Much respect for 35, got the hammer fist ready if he was still up but saw that he was down and controlled himself instead of beating an unconscious man.
Respect to the commentators who have enough professionalism to explain what is happening instead of screaming "ohhh" like a monkey over and over again.
I’ve watched MMA for a long time (Shamrock v Gracie and Strikeforce days). The sports come a long way and those blows after a guy is out are out of bounds.
Some of these rings are hard af. Fighters heads not even bouncing, hitting wit a loud thud, looking like some are concrete slabs. That more dangerous than the fight
As much as I admire the skill, the althetisism and fitness required for this sort of fighting, I do worry about the damage it would to the brains of these atheletes.
im very new to stuff like this and im curious, if anyone does somehow get killed in any of these matches, does the opponent get punished or is there things that the fighters sign which doesn't make the opponent liable for any injuries?
Depends. If the fighter is doing something deliberate to cause massive injury like an illegal move it can cause them to be blamed. But if you're following the rules accidents can just happen. It's happened in boxing.
To those of you complaining about hits after they are "knocked out on the ground" Yall are new..you are taught to fight until the ref calls it. Numerous fighters have tried the walk off and were defeated after the fighter got back up.
There's plenty in here who cover the downed fighter without throwing punches in case it doesn't get called, not turning away and celebrating early. If they can all manage to not throw unnecessary punches (especially as some of them the opponent was not completely unconscious) then everyone can. (ETA ones like 27 are fair though as guy isn't out at that time. But you want us to excuse 22? Still throwing puches as the ref is trying to pull him off)
okay im very oblivious bout MMA.. but why a lot of them still pound their oponent even tho they already on their back and hand literally not even guarding anymore?
Because unlike other sports, in MMA if you fall, you can continue fighting. Many times, it seems like a clear KO, but then the opponent makes a move or gets up and ends up winning. That's why most prefer to make sure it's a KO, even though many times it's true that there's no need for it.
You keep going until the ref stops the fight. Sometimes you know the guys out, sometimes he's reacting and could still be in fight only "dazed". Sometimes the fighters legitimately hate eachother so their strive to do it If it's blatant, after the ref makes a call, a whistle it's usually an instant DQ
Is it me or do most of these guys try desperately to get to their knocked-out opponents before the ref can stop them? How long would the punch their knocked-out opponents if the ref was indifferent or just extremely slow? Till the bell?
