@gabecballou5303 that has nothing to do to fight for a living, they are fighters and professional ones not amateurs, they've seen what a knockout looks like before and knows that each hit to the head is a step further to cte and those punches given while the guy is knocked out are way more dangerous than being hit conscious, it's something you wouldn't understand really because you think the same as them and think this is correct when it's not, this is a sport not a coliseum and for respect of yourself and the opponent there are things you're not supposed to do because you can make an injury that can and will make the person invalid regardless of being a full contact sport accidents can happen but all those punches when someone is unconscious are on purpose, they know what they're doing since they're professionals and the same can happen to them as well and believe me none who practice a sport wants to be stopped from doing the sport they like because an inquiry this has to do with sportsmanship, something many people who train lack, doesn't know that the sports are meant to have values or simply doesn't care about them like most peeps like you unfortunately, it's not just about the show and stuff, those values must be applied everytime the sport takes place not just for the post fight interviews or whatever

A lot of times it isnt out of malice but muscle memory. From my own personal experience sometimes in heated exchange i black out and goes into tunnel vision. It feels like your body moves on your own. Youre still concious but it feels like your mind is out of your body. i fought an amateur match when i was in my early 20s. First time i went into a tunnel vision. The guy that i faced was really good and was about to move up to go pro. He went for a low with a bodyshot , i countered with a hook but missed. Every shot i took missed him. He kept aiming for my body. It felt like hours despite it was just seconds. When he tried to go low again last i remember was thinking "eat the body , step forward and right hook , if i miss and he ducks i go for left upper if he goes inside if outside i reset. I dont remember much after that i didnt even know whether what punch landed to knock him out. All i know is that he didnt went in for the body but an overhead directly to my face. It all went black , i can still hear the audience and referee i just could see nor move willingly. When i snap back he was knocked out. I talked to mma guys who practice in our gym and they say same thing out of desperation your body just move on its own. Months of practice and your body is engraved of that knowledge on how to move.
Cry about it little man. It's the adrenaline. You aren't gonna be worried about an opponent's well being when they've just spent 10 mins trying to give you brain damage. Watch a different sport if it makes you emotional
Reflexes. Adrenaline. Viewpoint. If a pro fighter actually recognizes that their hit KO'ed the opponent, there's no advantage to keep striking. They're on camera. However, you don't always notice that it's a KO at the exact second it happens. It's EASY to see from the POV of a spectator or via the camera. Not so much in the moment and from the fighter's POV.
Much respect for 35, got the hammer fist ready if he was still up but saw that he was down and controlled himself instead of beating an unconscious man.
im very new to stuff like this and im curious, if anyone does somehow get killed in any of these matches, does the opponent get punished or is there things that the fighters sign which doesn't make the opponent liable for any injuries?
Depends. If the fighter is doing something deliberate to cause massive injury like an illegal move it can cause them to be blamed. But if you're following the rules accidents can just happen. It's happened in boxing.
The opponent isn't considered liable for any injuries or death. One fight where criminal charge were filed was Luis Resto vs Billy Collins in 1983. Collins was a young up-and-comer and Resto, a light punching journeyman, was thought to be an easy opponent. Over the course of the fight Collins face became incredibly swollen and Resto ended up winning a unanimous decision victory. After the fight Collins trainer and father grabbed Resto's gloves and started yelling that they'd had a bunch of padding removed. The althletic commission's investigation confirmed that was the case and Resto later admitted the handwraps underneath his gloves had been dipped in plaster of Paris. In 1986 Resto was sentenced to two and a half years in prison for assault and the injuries to Collins eyes ended his career. In response he began drinking heavily and just months after the fight died in a drunk driving accident.

okay im very oblivious bout MMA.. but why a lot of them still pound their oponent even tho they already on their back and hand literally not even guarding anymore?
Because unlike other sports, in MMA if you fall, you can continue fighting. Many times, it seems like a clear KO, but then the opponent makes a move or gets up and ends up winning. That's why most prefer to make sure it's a KO, even though many times it's true that there's no need for it.
You keep going until the ref stops the fight. Sometimes you know the guys out, sometimes he's reacting and could still be in fight only "dazed". Sometimes the fighters legitimately hate eachother so their strive to do it If it's blatant, after the ref makes a call, a whistle it's usually an instant DQ
They're usually reacting before they realize the opponent is knocked out. If they _don't_ follow up and their opponent recovers to come back and beat them, they look really silly. Ask Jalin Turner because that happened to him against Renato Moicano at UFC 300.
Is it me or do most of these guys try desperately to get to their knocked-out opponents before the ref can stop them? How long would the punch their knocked-out opponents if the ref was indifferent or just extremely slow? Till the bell?

I think there’s 2 possible explanations. 1: The force of the winner’s hit pushed the loser’s hand into his head hard enough for a KO. (Possibly exhaustion and previous hits lowering the required force for said KO) 2 (and more likely): The winner clipped the loser’s hand, but carried the punch through to hit the front part of his face, such as the nose.

2 (and more likely): The winner clipped the loser’s hand, but carried the punch through to hit the front part of his face, such as the nose.
