  • The IRL section quickly became one of the most popular and controversial sections on Twitch, but these days you probably won't find your favourite streamers out on the streets... and there's a good reason why.

    I think as well and something you slightly hinted to was that certain creators on RUclips can make videos tailored to streamers. People like NymN and Mizkif made videos for streamers and are now huge because of it. These videos can bring an insight to a streamers fan base that wouldn't have been seen before.

    The difference with Suzy Lu was that she boased about having YT connects on her side and did pirate content and put it behind a paywall. She then had the gall to accuse others of pirating content and reported their channels to RUclips. When questioned about this she said she hadnt and struggled to provide proof when called out on livestream. Her Patreon before it was deleted was getting her like 10k a month.

    • @jmbwithcats
      @jmbwithcats 4 года назад +4

      My honest opinion about safe for work cam girl streamers on Twitch that no one will care about: I love women, but the shamelessness and stupidity is sad. It's sad to see how little these women expect from their own lives because they don't have to and the platform allows this.

    • @ubercoolnamehere
      @ubercoolnamehere 4 года назад +4

      @Chase it's stupid in the sense that it ruins arguments of many feminists because these thots on twitch are doing exactly what feminists claim the "patriarchy" is forcing on them and "toxic men" do them. Except they're doing it to themselves.
      That's why it's stupid.
      It's also not appropriate for Twitch. They can go be on onlyfans or whatever floosie site is out there.

    • @yummychips_
      @yummychips_ 4 года назад +1

      I agree, but its easy money for them. They either don't want to actually go that far or don't want to be associated with it. I'm sure those types of sites have their own types of community. Some are probably large or small, some probably hard to break into. These thots that use twitch for sexual content just want to benefit from its platform vs other types. Larger audience, controlled community, viewers who hold you on a pedestal instead of treating you like a whore, property or obsession, and having to do less uncomfortable things. I think it all comes down to an age thing. Specifically a "mature" content as in porn vs "family friendly" which is not porn. They are skirting in the middle, basically as high up the rating of family friendly while being as low as they can from mature content.

    • @Zanjestu
      @Zanjestu 4 года назад

      There alot of games with sexual content in them, but twitch allows some game with this content as long as the whole game is not just focus on that content. If all sexual content wasn't allowed on twitch then games like the witcher or cyberpunk (with the genital customization) wouldn't be allowed. Even if you are just pushing for "softcore" then games like dragons age, deus ex, WoW, and Bioshock wouldn't be allowed since softcore just means something that can cause arousal. If the stream is only focus on sexual content then maybe it shouldn't be allowed like how porn games aren't allowed, but then there would be the issue of what would be sexual content that is not allowed. Like would talking about sex or the body not be allowed, working out (for both men and women; since this can be softcore for some), or would it just be if the individual/s is making consistent sexual poses. If you're just upset about clothing people are wearing, since you can see it as revealing then how can one stand to go outside (if you live in Cali then you would also be use to body paint; esp at E3). I personally wouldn't say sexual content is a issue since sexual content can be subjective esp when it comes to "softcore", but the fake relationship/ pretending to be like a sudo girlfriend/ boyfriend seems to be the real harmful content since it plays on mental issues. I only say this cause if you wanted to remove "softcore" then you would have to make rules to make sure no one does anything that is a fetish and good luck with that since just about everything is a fetish.

    One of the coolest streams I've ever seen was a guy who works as a mechanic and he streams his whole work day. So he fixes cars and chats for an 8 hour period every weekday. He also walks you through his actions on fixing cars, provides repair advice to those who ask for it, etc. Lunch time is a pure question answer time. It's really cool.

    I didn't think I would like so much this video when I clicked it. Seriously, this is very well put together, the narrative and the editing are on point.
    I began to watch streams at the beginning of this year, and I'd never watched anything there before. I began watching to follow basically programming streams, but then I found Dr. K. and other entertainment streams, and then I got hooked. I must say it is very difficult to find good content. I would never find Dr. K. if it wasn't for his increasing fan base. The streamers with most viewers are those with women showing their bodies. And, honestly, I can understand (when you see something beautiful, you want to keep looking at it... It's just the way our brains are wired). But I think there should be a NSFW category there. When I enter "Just Chatting", I'm looking for content like "Sweet Anitta" and "Healthy Gamer", but I have to scroll down through lots of women showing their bodies (because the algorithm favors engagement, even though I clicked that category). The only way to solve that problem, for me, is to find a way to filter out or segment those categories better, which would help me find what I want. I completely stopped browsing there for that reason. I just watch a handful of streamers and occasionally I meet others via raids and colabs.

    Very interesting video, especially as someone who only rarely watches twitch and isn't that familiar with its "history" and current trends. Cool seeing you're still making videos, this is the first time I'm seeing your videos in the sub box though in a while.

    Damn i miss the raw content from the irl section. Pushing boundaries and irl trolling was what made a lot of the streams fun to watch in my opinion. Now every streamer is getting banned for small pity reasons and streamers on twitch are walking on eggshells trying not to say or do something that might get them banned (which is pretty much everything right now).
    Hey how about this. If you don't like boobie streamers, don't watch them. If you don't like boundary pushing content, don't watch it. It's really not that complicated.

      Yep, I really miss streamers doing text to speech irl. That was insane, and the RUclips compilations on that is what got me interested in watching twitch (I'm not a gamer.)

    Crazy boardroom idea: Take the IRL, thotty just chatting, etc and put it on a seperate subsidiary website.
    I don't mind reaction/chatting stuff where it's like warm up before gaming, RIP Doc, etc. I feel bad for people working at Twitch, like you have to navigate the neo liberal minefield of "You can't exclude anyone, but also assume the worst context of everything you moderate"
    Fuck that lmao
