Don't forget that at the heart of this was the fact that Kujo had the audacity to put a copyright strike on Sick Boi, a song that meant a lot to Ren and the fans. It was taken doen from YT and then as things progressed, Kujo used the song as leverage so Ren ended up taking it down from ALL platforms at a huge loss for him. This really hurt Ren emotionally. In the end, after a chat with a CEO of YT, the Copyright strike was lifted but the damage was done because this had caused Ren so much stress during a time he was already stressed (bc he was about to perform at The Secret Garden Party for the 1st time in 5 years), that we all believe it contributed heavily to Ren's health relapse. Personally i cannot forgive Kujo for this. Especially bc he would've known what Ren's been through and the fact he did this before to @Nayz, the producer that did Ren's new track Money Ties.
The fact he then made Money Ties with another producer who reached out to Ren as he'd had a similar issue with Kujo and that could have been their song lmao,beat was fire too
Also, "HUMBLE". I actually meant to say "Humble" instead of "Castles..." bcz they're very reggae flavored. I discovered them on TheBlackSpeed. channel. He LOVED Castles.

The girlfriend also posted false contract content online in order to try to put Ren in the wrong. The worst part for me was when she gaslit him by saying "what if Kujo had a mental issue" ! Trying to guilt him into giving Kujo what he wanted and Ren has legitimate mental issues. The stress of this whole situation helped trigger his relapse.

Definitely agree that the stress would have been detrimental to his health. I have had a rare autoimmune disease 22 years that was misdiagnosed for almost a decade and stress is one of the biggest triggers to cause a flare up. I feel for the lad. He’s missed too much of his life already 🥹

Now I need go go hunt out the King Prime solo react to Ren's long explanation, because I want to see the fire as Ren breaks it all down! Glad you did a retake on this one. I still think the graphics, lighting, choir, videography and sound production and basically everything other than the lyrics seriously ROCK and it all needs to be fully appreciated. That Kodak story reminds me of when the Napster guys approached the labels about a providing a platform for digital music distribution (That's what they developed it for). But the label guys all turned them down flat, thinking they could kill it and stuff the genie back in the bottle. They just about tanked their whole show out of greed. Instead of letting the Napster guys set up the platform for the Labels to sell downloads, they blew them off and kept hounding them legally, while the platform was used/abused by pirates downloading all the music they wanted for a small monthly fee and 'promising' not to upload or download copyrighted material. That was the beginning of people thinking that music was something that was basically free.

That Kodak story reminds me of when the Napster guys approached the labels about a providing a platform for digital music distribution (That's what they developed it for). But the label guys all turned them down flat, thinking they could kill it and stuff the genie back in the bottle. They just about tanked their whole show out of greed. Instead of letting the Napster guys set up the platform for the Labels to sell downloads, they blew them off and kept hounding them legally, while the platform was used/abused by pirates downloading all the music they wanted for a small monthly fee and 'promising' not to upload or download copyrighted material. That was the beginning of people thinking that music was something that was basically free.
So glad you guys came back to this with context…..having said that, love that this one intrigued you enough to want to learn and listen more to Ren….now here you are!

I am so glad y’all decided to rewatch that video. It’s definitely a different video when you have all the context of what is going on. I don’t think I ever wanted Ren to get that dark, but after watching that 30 minute video of what was going on the darkness was deserved.
