- The Minnesota Twins lost at Yankee Stadium (of course) but Royce Lewis had an outstanding game in his return to the big club. He crushed a home run, drew a pair of walks and made a spectacular play at third base. Here's highlights of that performance plus a rundown of the minor league action of the evening.

YEAH ROYCE!!!!!
Let’s go Royce
Royce! Royce! Royce!
Dude is a stud
Royce, Brooks, Jenkins, oh my!
The umpiring was brutal tonight too
Royce Royce he’s the man if he can’t do it, no one can!!!!!!!!!!!
If the Twins are going to screw up the TV coverage like they have, its turning out to be a good year to miss the action. Great to see Royce back though
Ober actually pitched reasonably well. The HR he gave up should have been caught by Kepler and the double Judge hit was a blooper. Doesn’t matter if you can’t score runs🙁
Why is Royce the only hitter on the Twins that isn't overwhelmed with Yankee fear? They can't even put together a competitive at bat when they see pinstripes. As any Twins fan knows, this has been going on for 20 years now, minus the Brito gift last season. Baseball has a lot of weird stats, but when something happens for this long, it is clearly a mental issue. You can see it in their body language also. Royce was the only one last night who wasn't moping around like a sore-loser child. I'm going to just watch his at bats tonight, and not the rest of the game.
When is it time to do something about Thielbar?
Could start by not putting him in a close game when Judge and Stanton are due up 2nd and 3rd. Galaxy Brain Baldelli couldn't see past the lefty Soto though. When is it time to do something about the manager?
He’s pitching low leverage (Yankees had like a 94% win expectancy when Thielbar entered). That’s kinda the first step toward a guy reaching the end of the line. He’ll probably still have a decent amount of leash, and Funderburk is going to need to pitch really well in Triple-A for them to DFA Thielbar.
That was actually a low-leverage situation. Who did you want in that spot instead? You want them burning a guy like Jax in that situation?
@@TomFroemming im not saying use Jax or someone better. Im saying when is it time to send him down or something? Hes costing us everytime we run him out.
@@zackaryhaselius2226 That part was in response to the other person who replied.
Literally is hitting 1000.
Literally did more vs the Yankees in one game than the entire rest of lineup combined has in 4 games
Correa is the most overpayed player in baseball. Watching multiple strike three calls down the middle. He was a spectator in the batters box. Jake Cave for Luis Gil... What a great trade. A live arm with massive upside for a bottom feeder utility player. 😊
One thing you can comment on: "Is
Royce Lewis going to be another Byron Buxton?"
Please bring up the young guys. Why is A Martin still down there? 🤦🏻♂️
I pray if twins make the playoff we don't play the yankees ... Its sad how much they own us at this point I was convinced after last year we'd at least be okay vs them but that was proven a fluke won't be shocked if they sweep us again
I want that series win so bad against them though. My best friend has a Yankees tattoo…
@@Adaman135 Past due time to reconsider the quality of that friendship.
I am pretty sure this is why they sent Brito to SD in the Soto trade. "We know were going to face the Twins in the playoffs again soon, so lets get rid of the one Yankee that lineup doesn't fear"
So, having Royce back should help keep our galaxy brain manager from playing Farmer vs lefties every game. Especially since Chaos Castro can play 2B and owns LHP
Now can someone let him know that Kepler has done well vs LHP for the last 2 seasons?
2023 vs LHP
Margot - .665ops
Kepler - .752ops (and thats counting the whole season, it was probably higher in the 2nd half)
2024
Margot - .714ops
Kepler - .927ops
We all know Rocco is still going to start Margot tonight anyway.
It’s not always just about the hitter. Take a look at Rodón’s platoon splits, too.
