Ibanez J-Custom. Steve Vai model is the JEM, with the monkey grip. the "Vines of Life" inlays are more intricate on the J-Custom. The JEM model originated the "vine" inlays.
@@DeathMetalGuitar No, it was not the Jem which originated the Vine. First Ibanez Guitar with Vine Inlay was a Custom made Doubleneck for John McLaughlin in the mid 70s. Later it appeared on Bob Weirs Guitars before they used it on the Jem.
Some effing sweet jazz voicings in there. Altered dominant chords just sound beautifully tense with that tone. Can't really say for sure because of the tempo and distortion but it looks and sounds like luke is playing Bm-(Riff)/Bm-Gmaj/Bm-(Riff)/DMaj7-Gb7(#5) then repeat and end with Dmaj7-Ebdim7. Looks like tim is only playing a normal Gb7 chord but adding the #5 adds nice tension for better resolution to the Bmin at the start of the next riff.
I never noticed how beautiful Luke's guitar was. The flower stem/vine down the neck is quite nice.
