The beatgrid is a visual representation of what Rekordbox thinks a song looks like.
You can make changes to the beat grid in order to fix mistakes that Rekordbox made when analyzing the song.
You can change the analyse from static to dynamic if you like also.
How that works? How to fix the grid? How deal with tempo change in Rekordbox?

Thanks, man. It seems certain tracks make it difficult for recordbox to determine the first beat. This helped me out!
Rekordbox doesn't always get it right

@@DexxterClarkMusic I have been djing for over 30yrs and tried all softwares. To me for analyzing accuracy it goes in this order... #1 Virtual DJ #2 Serato #3 Rekordbox.... Sad to say but its true.

I've been using dynamic and now I know why so many of my hip hop songs have messed up beat grids. I was wondering what the problem was. Thanks for the help!!
Rekordbox reacts to certain frequencies to determine the beatcound. probably a lot of hip hop songs don't follow the standard frequency spectrum to determine the grid.

Recordbox offers camelot notation as well. Simply change it in preferences (default is classic notation)

it's a shame that we can't move the first bar of the sound to a further place. someone know how to do it ?
I really prefer the interface of Serato for organise my library.
Ahhh... do in order to cut a 4 beat bar to cut I edit yo the right and then just shift it left. Thank you! This has caused me grief so many times!

Mine move gradually into a song
I can't tell you how much your videos have helped me these last days. I was used mixing with Numark/serato so it's quite daunting to let go of old habits learning to work with Pioneer/rekordbox. One question though. I have been buying my tracks with I-tunes(yep, yikes) since i sarted DJ-ing a couple of years ago. Could it be that these MP3's are often analyzed by rekorbox with beat grids that are completely of the mark? and where should i buy my tracks from to avoid all this? I don't think that has anything to do with where you buy your music.
It is Rekordbox that is THAT bad at detecting beatgrids.

How can you remove key information if you have already analyzed and placed cues etc in your track if you then want to use mixed in key? So for instance I analyzed 60 some odd tracks with key checked, placed all of my memory and hot cues and then I want to now add mixed in key.
There is no option to choose between dynamic and normal mode when you right click to analyse.
that depends if you have the 1 or 2 player mode enabled
I'm confused what the difference is between expand/ shrink beat intervals compared to shift the whole beat grid left/ right and when you would want to use one or the other?
How do you disable beat grid showing please?
you can't as far as I know.

How do i adjust the beatgrid for multiple tracks at once as i have 800 tracks ? and i don't wana go through each one individually.

I'm facing situations in which I adjust the grid to the first beat of the track, but at the drop the grid does not stick to the beat, although the bpm is correct. Any idea of what is happening? I know that producers usally dont stack the kick with other percussion element, even if both are meant to sound together (just a slight difference between the kick and the other percussion, pretty much unnoticeable when the track is being played alone). So usually the drop's transient for each track differs, and by using the SYNC button the tracks do not sound syncronized. I have ajusted the beatgrid of my tracks more than once: taking the transient of the drop beat as a reference, or using the peak of the drop's kick. Anyway, the problem insists: or the beatgrid is adjusted to the drop's kick, and the it's off the intro's kick, or the beatgrid is adjusted to the intro's kick and get's off in the drop's kick. Of course, that issue is perceived when mixing and trying to beatmatch. (I know that this is a great opportunity of refining the by ear beatmatching, and this issue can make this debate arise). Any clue on what it's happening? Anyone would like to share how they approach this? Thanks!
rekordbox suck in that regard when the beat is not consistent throughout the song. You can set BPM detect to dynamic instead of manual, otherwise you have to adjust the grid by hand (that's a lot of work)
Its not sometimes most of the time it shows wrong BPM

yes, you can lock a track for editing (the pad-lock icon)

Have you used Dynamic mode for analysing tunes recorded from vinyl where the bpm won't be 100% perfect?
How were you able to set + save your CUE so far from the intro in the selected track?

When I do this the song is very good in the first half of the song, but as you get further in its starts to go of again. Anyone have an idea of what I should do? :)
Try analysing the track in dynamic mode
Hi Dexxter, have you got a Serato version of this? I've tried and made a disaster of it; the bpm now changes a gazillion times in the track after I try to set my own beatgrids and can't mix a thing now lololol! Will have to go back to Serato default analyse which was slightly off.

i have a lot of song in incorrect bpm, how do i correct this? how do reanalize everysong again, a lot of song that i have are 140bpm and they appear to be in 70 :/

how do I change the overall bpm of the song, I may have missed it. I have some garage with 2 step beats and the temp is wrong
You need to make sure the beatgrid is correct. The BPM is extracted from that
So I'll basically have to do this with over a thousand tracks

Yeah man it's a pain. Rekordbox is great software imo but they really need to fix this and I agree with Dexxter about needing to improve their algorithm!!
het enige probleem wat ik heb met bepaalde tracks, is dat de bpm constant hetzelfde is door de hele track heen, de eerste beat marker (de rode) bij de eerste beat in de track staat, maar uiteindelijk niet meer bij een drop. Komt dit door de breaks in de track (dat de grid niet synchroon staat) ?
ik snap niet helemaal wat je bedoelt, maar je kan prima een memory cue or hot cue op een drop zetten
@@DexxterClarkMusic wat ik bedoel is, met extended of original mixes, heb je (vaak) een intro om mee in te mixxen, de allereerste kick van zo'n intro moet een rode beat marker krijgen omdat het de eerste kick in een track is, dat lukt zonder problemen.
Het probleem wat ik heb met bepaalde tracks, is dat de rode beat marker niet op de drop staat, maar een witte beat marker.
en ik kan het niet voor elkaar krijgen om een rode beat marker op zowel de eerste kick van een intro te plaatsen, als op een drop te plaatsen. (terwijl de track constant dezelfde bpm heeft). Ik heb ook geprobeerd de optie om geen veranderingen toe te passen in eerdere delen in tracks, dit echter werkt niet, want het moment dat je de rode beat marker wilt instellen op de drop wordt het door de hele track heen gewijzigt.
Mijn vraag is dus hoe kan ik het voor elkaar krijgen om op beide plekken in een track (op de eerste intro kick en de drop) een rode beat marker te krijgen? (terwijl de bpm constant is)

the detection is shaky sometimes, but 50% is alot.
you have the range set correctly in the settings screen?

I found a bit of the information useful. However, the stammering and cutting sentences off in the middle like you weren't sure what to say, as well as having background music playing over a tutorial which involves music tracks, made your video a bit difficult to listen to.

Wait you said your tracks got the key from “mixed in key” how do you get it to overwrite it in rekordbox?
there is an option called reload key or something when you right click on a track

For me Rekordbox is total crap. When you have loaded a track on a cdj in link mode, there is no way to adjust the beatgrid unless you break the link, and stopping the music. Nice when you play in front of a crowd!

Rekordbox should invest seriously in Software Engineers. They are not short on money. Rekordbox feels old and functions can be much more INTUITIVE.

If you want INTUITIVE you should invest in UX designers. Not software engineers xD. I study IT and believe me, almost all software engineers are far from Intuitive.
