VIDEO DESCRIPTION:
This van is 72sq ft of pure organization and functionality. Laurén has a lovely home base in North Carolina and uses her Ram Promaster as the ideal getaway rig to escape long winters or enjoy local weekend trips.
The storage in this tiny home is massive! The compost toilet is hidden under a bonus counter, while the Dometic fridge is tucked under the main cooking area. When standing in the kitchen, you have an open view of the outdoors and plenty of counter space to prep food while chatting with a neighbor. The upper cabinets hold various pantry items, miscellaneous personal articles, and an exceptional color-coded technique for her clothing storage. The most impressive thing about this build is the versatile Murphy bed. Laurén can fold down a partial piece creating a lounge area or the entire thing, and have a comfortable full-size bed!

So love the Murphy Bed. You get the best of both, seating area and very easy bed. So nicely decorated and such great use of space. Sweet little pup!
Thanks for the bike tip. I’ve been going back and forth trying to decide. As you have stated my knees are garbage. A knee replacement accomplished nothing more than the joint issue. Other than that I live with excruciating pain so lifting my leg up and over the bar is out of the question. I had a moped but it was too difficult to get up on the kickstand so I don’t use it. Great build all the way around! Thank you for sharing!
I agree with your method. Bed goes away, work and entertaining space appears. It’s about having some bit of structure along with the flexibility.
What a great presentation you gave - well done. Also, love the outlay/design and the murphy bed with the multi-purpose seating option - great ideas. The only thing that I would add is a hidden shower (in the floor), but that is just personal preference. Thanks so much for sharing!
That is exactly what I have
What a lovely character she has! To spend a day with someone bright she would be my pick.
Well thought out space...love the murphy bed!
Incredible home! Thank you for sharing. Penny is a Queen 👑😎
Wow I admire your lifestyle it's really thought out and you have it all together I'm completely looking forward to doing this in the future, however making a living after your build is my biggest concern. Thank you for all your insights into working on the road as well as living is so helpful. Good luck on your journey!!
Murphy beds are the way to go! Makes the space so much more functional.
By far, once of the best van tours. Thanks
I'm normally not a fan of Murphy beds but this was a great build. And that's what I want to do, just be part time. I also think I'd have to based on certain things in my life.
So excited to have my own rambler soon!! Loved watching all the details about yours!!!
Love your van build my favorite is the Murphy bed makes sense cozy home on wheels that u live in part time ty for sharing
She has a nice setup. I couldn't do the toilet and not have a shower. I'm not into that kind of living but like reading about it.
Great video - love the layout and appearance.
V beautiful n spacious camphor home with all features. Awesome design
Nice kitchen, cool bed!👍🏻 Love all the wood & the faerie lights! Penny makes it a Home! 👍🏻❤️🐕❤️ Be 🐝 safe out there!🍀🐾🌈☮️🇨🇦
Wine for visitors❤️🇨🇦🇨🇦🇨🇦
Nice van. Happy travels.
Excellent!
I would really love to know where to go and hear your "entire" story....because I currently live in a place a little north of Asheville NC....Weaverville, to be exact.....I have been planning my van since 2017, and trying to figure out the logistics for living on the West Coast...Newport, OR...to be specific....I have a house to sell here in Weaverville, but also one in Lexington KY for my father that passed in March 17 of 2022....I work full-time, so all this information for how to move on, has actually become a hobby and vision-board for me today.....would love some advice...thank you...
great camper van
Beautiful
Great setup!
I often wondered how people keep their pets cool or warm when they leave their pets when they grocery shop etc.
Cooling mats, fans or AC. I’ve even seen nomads who avoid super hot weather for just this reason. Priorities
What a wonderful view on the motor home. What company did the work?
Who did your buildout? Great van!!
Murphy beds are the best for tiny home.
Maybe make or buy a step up for the doggy
No ma’am no bathroom I could never
Why not add a portable solar panel with a plug-in wire to your inverter, another hundred watts would probably run only about a hundred dollars…or maybe 2 for that matter. Portable solar panels come in a little suitcase like device and you can just set it up when you arrive at your camp.
Great video thank! My only concern as a single woman is safety. Haven’t seen many videos address that. But I guess maybe it’s not an issue.
It’s definitely an issue. Especially when your whole life is in a van.
I'm from Asheville
You still living in your van ?
Motor home tour car 🥰
Okay, so she’s just camping a lot and not full timing it.
She actually has a farm to go back to.
And if you have no bathroom, she’s spending a lot of money to use public restrooms…
So impractical for the majority. A 1%er.
I do have a bathroom- there is a sink and a composting toilet and an outdoor shower and hot water. Not quite sure what your definition of bathroom is... I lived in this van full time for 2 years and for the last two spend upwards of 6 months in it at a time. Not a 1% just a person who works multiple jobs to create the lifestyle I want.
Where do she shower? Umm you need to was more than yr hair especially for women.
This was Awesome. I am 65 & trying to figure out what retirement looks like for me. After watching this. If I had this exact set-up I think I could live so happily traveling around the Countryside! Wow! Thanks!
I love how herr Murphy bed has a section that is multi purpose! And so much has been learned from her explanation of why she designed her van the way she did.
Thank you for sharing!
Loved her build🌻and appreciated her talking about her favorite items in there. Wondering what cell booster she’s using/recommends
I currently use a WeBoost and have cell plans with AT&T and Verizon. I may switch to Starlink but haven't decided if it's worth the expense yet.
Great van. Have you thought about the fold up solar panels for that extra power?
I love the bed its confortable and doesn’t feel cramped. And hope to have one someday. But the shower for me is a must have.
What is the name of the company that did this van build out?
It's a great design.
We are also part time travellers, in our late sixties, also with ebikes. Even though the things we have in the van are totally independent of our home, I find packing our food and clothing extremely tedious. Never mind the unpacking. Having said that, we absolutely love it, and love coming back to our home base. Good luck on your travels. Love from Australia.
I think this is an eye opener when you are undecided about becoming a full timer or a part time.. I don't think for myself or for alot of ppl going into this life style .. they have made it a point to do one or the other. I feel and believe .. it becomes a money issue w/ two living spaces. Most ppl also in this life style have made it a point to downsize tremendously .
I'm loving her organization ❤️👍.
I really like her Murphy bed❤️👍
Best van build I’ve seen. Would ‘leap’ today if I could afford a dependable high top van and it’s conversion. As a licensed therapist I could work remote so easily but like so many, the upfront $ will forever prevent - but this would be my idea of perfect
You can look at the second hand market as people sell theirs. Some places also do financing. Find a way to go after you dreams!
when you have a plan life can be so much better! thank you for sharing - such an awesome van! Take care and be safe out there....
Fenegaling, I love it. Oh and wow what a wonderful van layout. You go girl. ☺️👋
Very smart! I can relate totally to the adventure traveler. I admit I don’t have 2 of everything and sometimes realize, oops that’s in the van…it’s ok, it gives me a minute to reconnect with my little home when I retrieve the item, then to remember to replace it! Would love to know, do you have heat/cooling? Also what brand name toaster oven?
I use the fans for cooling and move with the weather. I have a webasto heater for the cold. The toaster oven is a Breville.
One of the best builds, great use of space though I would have a wet bath probably, or one that is stored inside a cupboard with hooks in the ceiling to hang the curtain. Love it
I hear you but I’d do the bathroom exactly as because I too would access offsite showering and want the space line here
You can also add solar panels on the side, not attached. You can either get the portable ones, like the Jackery, or just use a couple regular solar panels, hinge them face together, and just pull the wires out and connect them up. You can lean them against a chair or table.
This is one of the very best vans I've ever seen. Wowser!!! Congrats on such a plush life on the road and stay safe.
Love the Murphy bed, extra wired "just in case", the portion of the Murphy platform that provides extra seating and Penny 😸. Thanks, best of everything for you going forward!
Wonderful build there are always little ways of getting a good shower I've learn that. I'm into to the soda bottle shower lol I just didn't put holes in the bottle cap and I used about 16 oz 7 bottles of warm water. Very refreshing
Everything was very nice but a shower and toilet is a must for us. I would also want an RV size fridge.
That foot on the bottom of your eBike... Some people are cutting that off with a hack saw because when you go over a bump like a driveway center, it hang sup and can throw you from the bike. I know of a lady that broke her ankle that way.
So sick of rich people flaunting their expensive vans that they had _somebody else build_ for them. I’m interested in people that are doing this for life on their own-full timing it.
_I’m not interested in GLAMPERS._
The title is very misleading. If you have absolutely no bathroom, it’s very impractical. Definitely not for _life_ on the road.
Agree. Working for the family company and living with your parents into your 30's. Not relatable for most of us that provide for ourselves.
Wow. That is a amazing build. You thought of everything. Nothing wasted any place.
I haven't seen any tiny set ups with a twin bed. Does I've been in a twin bed for about 2 years and I like it fine (my dog is a chihuahua). Does anyone out there have a configuration with a twin bed?
I like the murphy bed idea.
I lasted 8 min of listening to her saying every sentence as if it's a question. TG for the mute button.
What about switching out some or all solar panels to higher watt ones? For example, if you have 3x100w, swap 1 or 2 out for a 200w?
Way cool, im so amazed how much is in there! Such a beautiful home
What an ingenious build. I love it!
Can you advise on approx. how much your van would cost? Thank you for the wonderful tour.
Wonderful tour of your home van. You are so knowledgeable. You inspire Women to just Go For It !
Looks like you need to fill your freshwater up gal....
I love your van. I think we may be similar in our needs. Just the murphy bed alone allows you so much more room. Then you have the compost toilet w/o a shower. That design versus the one you had also gives you extra room for storage. I love it. You gave a great presentation of your van. Keep enjoying your life and your van.
Neat, clean, organized, cozy, beautiful!!!!!
Washing your hair is not the same thing as taking a shower…
Saw another video where a guy created a shower base at the entrance (with hole to grey water tank under van), hooked up tubing to the roof which to click on a shower curtain. And use the kitchen tap extension as shower. Perfect. Just make sure no lighting above it.
Lovely van build! Thanks for sharing Penny!
This is truly an awesome home! I like the way storage is handled-and that it doesn't overtake the van! Thank you for sharing!🚙
That was very well explained, thank you. I would do a few things different, mainly I would have a small fridge with separate freezer compartment that was a little taller, I would put it where you have your water, and put the water and stuff on the other side. I would also probably figure out a way to make table pull down or pop up in a way that was easier since I would use that a lot myself, and maybe I'd sacrifice the one bench for a table or something. Have to think that one through.
it'd be great if u could give video chapter time points in such a long video...just a suggestion... anyway love all ur videos.. 👍
20 bottles of booze seems quite a lot
idea is to stack and then slide out for extra solar panels
This is one of the most spacious well thought out builds I have seen!!
Love the candor. Being real with it translates beautifully. I have noticed that I hear a lot about feelings of mental unwellness in this community... this seems opposite of how I would assume that it is. Because of your honesty I feel ok to ask... is this a real thing in the nomad lifestyle? Is it a prevalent as it’s starting to seem?
By the way: your van is AWESOME
I like the Murphy bed idea, great build
You have one of the best builds on RUclips. Very impressive, well thought out design. You are a pro!!
Wouldn't we all like a home base plus a van
Seriously, though. Unrelatable.
CheapRVLiving is my channel LOL.
This is a "perfect" van build. It's just so inviting and functional. I'm just wondering where she puts the electric bike? Does she have a bike rack on one of the back doors?
Love the Murphy bed. Where do you store the bike?
At the time of filming, I was just living around it! Now I have a bike rack on a swing hitch on the back.
Living with a poop bucket that too with all stuffed up space behind, really dirty habit, lots of place to sleep but no space for a proper bathroom. Yuck!
Excellent all around. Nicely presented. I enjoyed the visit.❤
🍀🤙🏼🙏🏻
Love your build and Murphy bed! Such a versatile setup! Who did the build?
I could see myself living in that.
Great build ! Who was the builder? I would like to contact them very soon. Thanks for the tour. 😎👍
Ditto! I’d like to know who the builder is as well.
A ten person dinner party in a van? Brave soul. As are your guests. Lol. Nice rig though, Like the Murphy.
Love her life and her van!
You’d think a Murphy bed would stay cleaner as well. Less daytime dust and dog fur.
What if you have a guest who needs to use the toilet? The design has a major flaw with the toilet. Not practical at all. Just my opinion.
I see this a lot… I can never understand the exposed knives fastened to the magnetic strip. Is it for aesthetic or these people check knives collectors? In my converted skoolie, I only needed one knife to prep food.
I’m also short. How did you load the kayak on the roof? Thank you.
I stood it up on end right next to the ladder, climbed onto the roof, then grabbed the kayak by the front tow rope and pulled it up the ladder.
@@flitfloatflyaway thank you! Great technique. I will try it out.
A nice house on wheels 🚌
What is under that whole left side. Too much talking. Missed a whole section in this beautiful build.
Title is Murphy bed but video is almost over and filled with everything else.
I love the Murphy bed! I might have missed it but where’s the mattress from? It seems pretty light and I’d love to know how to get one.
This mattress was just a memory foam topper from Amazon, After having it for 4 years I just replaced it with a mattress from RV Mattress by Brooklyn Bedding.
Great design! The Murphy bed is a nice touch! Thinking about doing this!!
Wonderful van settings! Bravo!
I like the layout but what company did your build? thks rox
