I don't think shaw is using the bombs to bury titans, I think he is using them to close the rifts. Also the bombs he use aren't fancy vortex bombs, I think when the rift destabilized from shaw blowing up the surrounding rock it turns into a drain and sucks things into the underverse.
Somebody needs to mention this so I’ll do it the big sister is stealing her brothers ex more and more every episode and he is being forced to watch. WILD
The subtle hints of Cate hitting on May is dumb. It’s like siblings sharing lovers like how their father was sharing smh. And the awkward look of Kentaro watching Cate get lovey dovey with May is weird. It needs to lead to some important character development or it’s a waste of time.
I like the fact that they are setting up Mechagodzilla. In GvK it seemed like the Mech came out of nowhere. It would have taken many Years and billions of dollars to make that thing possible, and it just came out of left field. It's nice to see the seeds being planted. But the whole Cate and May/Cora relationship seems very forced. By the second episode you already see that's where they were going. For all intents and purposes, Cate should hate May's guts by the end of this episode. She is nothing but lies. Lies to everyone to save herself. She doesn't seem like someone you want to hitch your wagon to. But here we are. I like seeing the setups to the other movies, but other than that this show is mediocre at best. As others have said, the best characters are Shaw and Tim.
Once again, an episode that had parts I loved and parts I felt frustrated/confused by has been made more enjoyable by your videos! Thanks for all of these breakdowns. Quality wise, I would put this show a tick below average. But that being said, I'm glad it exists and is expanding on the lore of the Monsterverse, even if it is confusing. And as a longtime Godzilla fan, I am well accustomed to confusing/boring human sub plots that you have to sometimes get through to just see the monsters lol.
The apex connection was neat. Guessing the agreement was for monarch to give AET / APEX their information, and research on godzilla to help with their mechagodzilla project.
Everything in this season is referring to event that will occur in Godzilla King of Monsters and Godzilla vs Kong. So Shaw is aware of the upcoming emergence of multiple MUTO awakenings at once. He is trying to help Godzilla control them by closing holes to the Monsterland inside the planet.
I have to be that nerd and comment, Mechagodzilla going berserk wasn't because of an overload. The whole idea was that they used Ghodorah's DNA to help make the interface, implying it's why they kept the interface room with Ghidorah's skull (you even see it in the clip where you explain) Like a weird reversal of Kiryu from the Millennium series
It like in Transformers Age of Extinction when they use Megatron to make Optimus Prime but the humans are shocked it keeps making Megatron no matter what they do lol

Ryan is overestimating the Monarch x AET relationship prior to the deal for Cora; and thereby underestimating Cora/May’s significance. 2nd best episode so far!
Watching Legacy of Monsters. Show doesn’t have much things related to monsters. Everything is about humans in almost all the episodes. It’s more drama, romance than monster fights.
This show is absolute drivel. Got sucked in by Kurt Russell and his son working together, but the plot has degenerated into a teenage adventure flick, featuring annoying brats who do way too much hugging and talking incessantly about their shallow feelings. Monsters and Kurt Russell, the only things half way good about the show, have been relegated to being the MacGuffin... What a friggin waste of time....
This was by far the worst episode. The story line made no sense and it was like they teleported from Angelia to Seattle. How the characters met at the airport made no sense.😢
Honestly I agree, it made me dislike the kids. They all disrespect every adult in this show by acting like they know better. A guy who, yes, may be working for a sketchy company, but has only showed them kindness and an appreciate for their family and well-being. May ended up looking like she was really just crashing their system for pride and not to help the animal experiments. The episode felt like it was sloppily put together just to introduce the monarch an AET relationship. The ending was exciting with Shaw and the Simmons reveal but that’s about it…
So people shipping two massive kaiju frienemies for a movie title, but they complain about the canon symbiotic relationship between our favorite titanic lizard and his loyal moth partner as a ship or romance. Good🍷
I'm I the only one to dislike both May and her little thirsty gf? And poor Kentaro man... He has been treated as 3rd wheel and walking around listening to these two annoyance. Both Caty and May are really unpleasant
at 8:38 there is a painting of two twin women, I thought it was a subtle call back to the twins who have always had connections to Titans, specifically Mothra.
I don't think we are meant to think that Apex and monarch have been working together for a long time. I think their partnership begins in the scene where monarch approaches apex to make a deal. Which is why monarch doesn't know anything about what Cora did to Apex.
This whole episode felt so forced and cramped together i wish they exploded mays backstory throughout the episodes instead of all cramped up in one episode. Plus i didnt even realize that all this was to just show us that this was connected to Godzilla vs Kong throught the apex industries scene.
Two of your points may tie together. Monarch may not know what May did and Apex didn’t call police because Apex is keeping a side goal secret from Monarch. Reporting May would reveal the secret work.
@@nanaosei6468 i see what you saying thats what make it worse though. This already a flashback. Now we gotta keep sitting through flashbacks within flashbacks. EVERY OTHER SCENE. Like just say what homegirl did and keep it pushing. Mfs jus saw godzilla i dont need a dramatic hack scene ctfu
Just went and saw minus one last night. After watching it the kack of human character development in this monsterverse was made even more glaringly obvious. Having said that though, i find these characters and their storylines to be much more interesting than anyone from the previous movies,to the point im not all that concerned about the lack of titan action. I mean there really isn't too much they could do without reconning what was established in kotm , and yhe show is called "monarch" not " titans"...i did feel bad for kintaro having to watch his sister slowly ..stealing his girlfriend away... hopefully when alls said and done this season as long as its taking to get here all the threads will wind together and we won't have to wait 2 years for a 2nd season to drag everything out more...

I happen to love MV, but for those that complain the human characters are dull and not fleshed out enough I say then just watch this show or minus one....I think there's more "trashing" of this show due to lack of monster action than there has been of the MV in general
Dominique Tipper!!! I don't mean to typecast her, but she'll always be Naomi Nagata reperesentative of the Belta Lowda (The Expanse) and eventual capt. of Tje Rocinante!! 🔥🤝🏼👏
The AET to APEX was the biggest plot twist ever. Also in GVK they said they were starting to build Mecha G. So when the lady said in that one scene that to make things like godzilla to walk. They were foreshadowing mechagodzilla
Im kind of surprised they are going the romance route with cate ,and may. I thought may ,and kentaro would get back together it was a little cringe at first but now i see the vision.
@viper-x1 do you mean Kentaro?, and they don't seem like they ever were in a serious relationship, and it seems he's more sad about his father's behaviour not Kora/May's
Here's my problem with when she saw Godzilla and realize that he is alive. If I run over a squirrel in the front of my neighborhood, then go to the back of my neighborhood and see a squirrel, I don't think that it's the same squirrel! How did she know it was the same Godzilla? They didn't know about monsters at all, maybe there's a good dozen or so Godzilla's beneath the waves!
I really want to know if there is going to be a connection between Shaw and Jonah (Charles Dance's character in KOTM). Cos Shaw wants to cut off the Titans from the world but Jonah wants to wake them all up. Also Jonah acquired Gidorahs severed head at the end of KOTM but then in GvK it's in the pocession of Apex. I really wish they utilised Jonah more. He was a cool character and a bigger bridge than he's given credit for
I forget where I saw this mentioned (either a previous breakdown video or elsewhere), but Jonah originally appeared in GvK. He and his group were executed by an Apex team to retrieve Gidorah's head. The sequence was shot and then cut (along with the backstory of why Dr. Series award son was working for Apex).
Someone else confused by the timeline? In 1.04 we saw Kentaro's flashback in 2014, specifically said to be "One year earlier", and when he takes the picture of the poster, he and May meet. But now here in 1.07 we see the flashback again, and it says "Two years earlier", placing it in 2013. Now, this episode's flashbacks take place in April 2012, six months later in October 2012 (also 30 months before April 2015*), and then in March 2013 (2 years, 1 month before April 2015, as stated by May's mom). So why are they saying May and Kentaro met in 2013 and not 2014 ???????
Didn’t I hear that Tim and Natalia are siblings when they were talking in the car near the end of the episode? I thought they also talked about their unnamed dad? Someone we already know?
I just re-watched godzilla:king of the monsters. and found something interesting. when dr.shirazawa was taking mark to caste bravo or outpost 54. the female pilot i saw looked like may/corah
2 things, 1where was the path to hollow earth that kong too, was it that hole in Alaska? and 2. How did Apex get 2 Ghidorah? there was one that got ripped off, to grow back later, but the rest of Ghidorah...Godzilla turned to ash. but in Godzilla vs. Kong the said they had 2. one in Mega Godzilla, and one the control chair. (gave some psychically BS) but there was only ever 1 skull left for Ghidorah.
14:15. perhaps that was the plan all along? like some of the marvel stand alone series (and movies) were used to fill in the gaps between the movies. a bit like when they used SHIELD to bridge the gap between the avengers and ironman 3 and then directly ties in with thor: the dark world. so monarch: legacy of monsters fits in between godzilla and Godzilla: King of the Monsters
Great Breakdown SC, however I have a quick question, when are you uploading your Breakdown of Doctor Who Special 3: The Giggle? As it's been nearly three weeks since The Giggle's release.
Worst episode so far ... these three kids acting is abnormally bad .. and just pushing this shit with a lesbian and this black girl who becomes a lesbian .. the scenes in the past are much better but i want more monsters .. GODZILLA.. pathetic
Ok so now that all the back stories are out of the way can we move on to Cate and Kentaro catching up to their father? I mean that was the whole point of this? Can they get some answers. I mean if this guy is sooo caught up in his work how did he manage the time to start 2 families just to ignore them. Wouldn't it be funny if a 3rd or 4th kid popped up from some one night stands. Episode 8 I can see it now the big blowup because Cate wants to sniff Corah's hair and scissor and Kentaro gets jealous and they spend the episode chasing after him cause he storms off and they shove in the backstory of Dr Randa actually being Keiko & Kirk Russell's son.
*Takashi* *Yamazaki's* *Godzillas* Always: Sunset on Third Street 2 (2007) Godzilla the Ride (2021) Godzilla Minus One (2023) Minus One drew a lot of inspiration from Godzilla the Ride but you can see the shape of their heads evolved from Yamazaki's 2007 film. The Ride vs. Minus One, I probably like -1 a little more and it's mainly because of his brownish color. If you can't afford the Minus One figure, get the Ride as it's far cheaper and he looks similar but he's mostly gray. Before I got my Hiya KOTM figure, I was not a fan of the beige/copper splash around his chest and sides. I would see comparisons of KOTM vs. GvK V2 on RUclips and the latter looked slightly better to me. But then I made the jump to get the KOTM as the seller was only selling it for $35. I now prefer the beige/copper splash on it once I saw it in person. It looks much better in person than in videos. The Hiya KOTM actually looks closer to the Godzilla in the GvK film when we see Godzilla fight Kong in the ocean. The Hiya GvK V2 has color closer to the 2014 film. And I always thought Godzilla shouldn't always look clean. If you watch the Heisei, the suit always looks too pristine after he gets into a rumble with another kaiju. In Monarch, you see Godzilla sleeping in the Algerian Desert 🏜. He looked dirty which he's supposed to.
I feel like aswell as being related to GodzillaVsKong, that this story has characters directly involved with alan jonah considering the lowkey terrorist group vibes going on with shaw.

Monarch didn't start working with AET/APEX until AFTER the deal to "free" Mae/Cora. Thats why whats her face was trying to use Mae to gather intel.
Too much "character development" just makes me wish they would get back to advancing the plot.
How is nobody calling this girl out for bounce from brother to sister
This show is absolute drivel.
Got sucked in by Kurt Russell and his son working together, but the plot has degenerated into a teenage adventure flick, featuring annoying brats who do way too much hugging and talking incessantly about their shallow feelings. Monsters and Kurt Russell, the only things half way good about the show, have been relegated to being the MacGuffin...
What a friggin waste of time....
I’m extremely disappointed that I picked this show up thanks to my excitement after Minus One.
Tim as the sole survivor was a little odd
Helicopter had to spare the GOAT. more believable than Shaw being as functional as he is at his age tho
Other than Shaw, best character
This was by far the worst episode. The story line made no sense and it was like they teleported from Angelia to Seattle. How the characters met at the airport made no sense.😢
Gotta be trolling.
Honestly I agree, it made
me dislike the kids. The ending was exciting with Shaw and the Simmons reveal but that’s about it…
Facts
Even the o ai love the series
I love the show so far but I agree I think it was the worst episode by far
I think a lot of this sets up King of Monsters. Shaw keep talking about "G-Day times 100" and that was the events of King of Monsters.
So people shipping two massive kaiju frienemies for a movie title, but they complain about the canon symbiotic relationship between our favorite titanic lizard and his loyal moth partner as a ship or romance. Good🍷
The pacing has been dreadful
The pacing has been just fine. It’s a mystery/drama with well developed characters.
Nice surprise to see a Tough Age reference in this video. Great people, great band!
This whole episode felt so forced and cramped together i wish they exploded mays backstory throughout the episodes instead of all cramped up in one episode. Plus i didnt even realize that all this was to just show us that this was connected to Godzilla vs Kong throught the apex industries scene.
This show should be called “Tedious Bickering”.
Two of your points may tie together. Monarch may not know what May did and Apex didn’t call police because Apex is keeping a side goal secret from Monarch. Reporting May would reveal the secret work.
Grest episode just really hoping they didnt actually kill off the frost vark.
I’m so tired of flashbacks for everything. At this point its just lazy writing
Dude the show is set in 2015, the whole show is a flashback. You shouldn’t hand started at all then
@@nanaosei6468 i see what you saying thats what make it worse though.
Another “Minus One is perfect so let’s trash the MonsterVerse because it’s the cool thing now.”
So tired of this tribalism.
this show has to be the worst godzilla related thing in existence.
@@IncredibleFulk1 wasn't trashing it not sure why you felt that.... Was just noting the difference in human character development... I happen to love MV, but for those that complain the human characters are dull and not fleshed out enough I say then just watch this show or minus one....I think there's more "trashing" of this show due to lack of monster action than there has been of the MV in general
i thought this show was about godzilla.
But Tim, if you hadn't tried performing extraordinary rendition on the Randa kids, they wouldn't have gone looking for Shaw either
Love this show! Surprised me!
I agree with a previous comment they should have put this bs out before godzilla v. Kong
Biggest plot twist ever? come on mate...
“Biggest plot twist ever” it wasn’t even a big.
@@bongokongo8463i stg i thought he was being sarcastic 😭😭😭
It was very foreshadowed judging it's a 'Tech' company in a show about monsters unless you're being sarcastic 😂
Me: "Watch AET be APEX" ... felt kind of predictable given the cloak and dagger of the corporation
I like how they got the Precious from Middle Earth instead of Hollow Earth
Thought this episode was better than 5
Im kind of surprised they are going the romance route with cate ,and may. I thought may ,and kentaro would get back together it was a little cringe at first but now i see the vision.
Yeah the vision to pass her around the family
It's kinda cute though
@@Chad0023 nah, it's disgusting
@@Chad0023 Kenya to deserves to be happy he's already slowly becoming depressed
@viper-x1 do you mean Kentaro?, and they don't seem like they ever were in a serious relationship, and it seems he's more sad about his father's behaviour not Kora/May's
I keep hoping this show is going to get better only to watch a new episode and be disappointed all over again.
Who said she's right? That it is the same? You're assuming that. Maybe it is the same and it's not that deep. But nothing has shown us it is the same.
Also something that big would be kinda hard to miss of there were 2 of them
I thought I was having a stroke reading this. But there is only 1 Godzilla the others died in a war with Kongs race they explained that in the movies
Godzilla is the last of his kind the last other Godzilla died to muto s
Rip the goat Dagon
AET wanted "Corah" to be rescued, so leaving her stuff behind makes sense.
Shaw definitely is trying to kill the other monsters and save Godzilla
Bad episode. Brenda had them yams tho.
Is the orb thingy used to lure Godzilla, same as ORCA?
I called them being apart of apex at the beginning of the episode
How many "Girl Bosses" are they going to put in this show? I don't know how much more i can take.
I also get the sense the show is about explode lgbtq+ all over the audience.
godzilla will fall in love with something really gay or not even living.
Really trying to give this show a chance but it sucks so bad. Only good scenes is when monsters appear
Worst episode so far ... these three kids acting is abnormally bad .. and just pushing this shit with a lesbian and this black girl who becomes a lesbian .. the scenes in the past are much better but i want more monsters .. GODZILLA.. pathetic
did AET rebrand, i remember hearing that they had a partnership?
Because of Godzilla's tail, Kong would have to be on the bottom.
When the Ep. 8 breakdown going to be out?
Why does everyone say Godzilla attack and Gday? Isn't it that the Mutos attacked SF and Godzilla saved the day?
yeah ngl the show is falling off in storyline
Favorite episode? I don't think I can trust you anymore.
*Takashi* *Yamazaki's* *Godzillas*
Always: Sunset on Third Street 2 (2007)
Godzilla the Ride (2021)
Godzilla Minus One (2023)
Minus One drew a lot of inspiration from Godzilla the Ride but you can see the shape of their heads evolved from Yamazaki's 2007 film.
I’m really failing to see how either of your points are relevant to the video
I feel like aswell as being related to GodzillaVsKong, that this story has characters directly involved with alan jonah considering the lowkey terrorist group vibes going on with shaw.
What are they doing with this show??? They are making my fellow Japanesesu insufferable, it's burning my eye sockets.
Flashbacks are awesome. Present day melodrama is so boring. They need to fix that.
Dont we already know that godzilla is gonna fight that winged titan from episode 1? I seem to remember to have seen a shot from a trailer where we see godzilla and that titan fighting
