Q: How Do I Fix Bare Spots?
A: Bare spots, craters, divots, fish eyes - all these things are a result of the ArtResin resisting something that’s on the surface. Sometimes it’s the use of silicone oil. Sometimes it can just be hand lotion that transferred on to the surface that’s repelling the ArtResin.
At any rate, to fix a bare area, simply sand down your piece with 80 grit sandpaper and clear off the sanding residue. Then pour another well measured, well mixed coat of ArtResin on top and you’re good to go.

Many artists use different methods to remove all traces of silicone after their acrylic pour so that they can apply their ArtResin. Some use Dawn dish soap and water, some use glass cleaner, we have used mineral water. Be sure your painting is fully cured prior to cleaning. You can also consider applying a layer of sealant over your artwork to act as a barrier between stubborn spots of silicone and your ArtResin layer.
