We’ve moved at least 18 times in our 60 years of marriage. I learned to pack everything except toilet paper and coffee maker . The week before our move we used all paper plates plastic forks spoons etc. I took the coffee pot with me in the car the last item unplugged and the first to plug in. I realize your move is not quite as easy or as simple. You will have an amazing sense of accomplishment and satisfaction once you’re done.
Funny how that works. The more you move, the less there is of it. Priorities sharpen. Decisions are clearly made. You know exactly what to take, how to sort, and what will fit where. I am a teacher in a job that is always changing. I have moved next door half a dozen times. I can do it in a few wagons and under an hour in a pinch. Blessings to you on gaining that experience. I know you are every bit as happy as those who never moved but a box to an attic or below.
The fact that your giving that family business a plug for helping you is wonderful i pray that thay get lots of new business coming there way and can help you when you get started on your new place .another good episode keep safe both of you
My heart went out to you carrying all the stuff out of the house and then having to navigate the rough roads🙈praying that this all gets finished soon and you can begin to heal from all this trauma
SO GLAD you have had help with the unloading. Katie, absolutely LOVE your boots. I know you have had them for a while now. Keep up the good work. "Neither rain, nor hail, nor gloom of night....." You've got your stride with the moving. XXXXX
I love your humor. It has to be hard to be happy in this difficult situation. But you are handling with it. I admire you and pray for you. I hope you will finish the moving as soon as possible. Fingers crossed!
The stacking up boxes in the trailer in black and white colour only .. fast paced Katie with the fast whimsical music reminded me of old Laurel and Hardy skits from the 20’s - 30’s 😂 🇨🇦
This is not on the subject of moving so I apologize in advance. What I would love is a fashion show by katie. Everything she wears is so on point and I just love it!
Though many of us will miss the natural beauty of the island, the two of you probably would have had to move anyways. From your very first episodes, my main concern for you was the drainage, or lack thereof, either in serious health issues or the undermining of the structural integrity of the cottage itself over time. You both have overcome many challenges, but this issue would have been a constant obstacle needing attention. Out of all of this, you both have grown so much individually and as a couple, these are treasures that no one can take away from you...God bless!
"..... I repeat, there is no shit in the post box..." I nearly choked on my cup of tea. A sense of humor is so, SO important in the midst of 'shit' and upheaval. It has served me well for many years ☺Hang in there, stay amazing and God bless ❤Teresa 🇦🇺♥ 🐈⬛🐈⬛🐑🐑🐑
Thank you for updating us. I remember when you first arrived on the island, moving your stuff down to the cottage either by wheelbarrow or carrying it. You are doing great despite the awful conditions and all the stress. I am sure you will do wonders with the chair Scott. Hopefully you will get off the island sooner than you think. Take care ❤
Hang in there, you two! I'm so glad you have each other. What a grueling process this move is! And your right, Scott, about the impact of the trauma on both of you -- the shaky hands, the knot in the stomach, the anxiety. You will recover, but you have to be away from that place that caused the trauma itself. I hope it is soon.
Moving is always such an ordeal. You two are troopers with all the bad weather, rough terrain and heavy lifting. Hope you get a chance to catch your breath and nurse sore muscles.
I don't think there is another RUclips channel where I pray as I watch. I'm so glad you got help to unload, Katie. So happy to hear you thought the little chair was worth saving, Scott. You're good people and God is watching over you. Continued blessings to all the little island inhabitants until you move. ((Hugs))
Im having anxiety with seeing all your stuff. My husband keeps punting stuff into the attic rather than dealing with it. You can tell Im a minimalist. What a mission for you to get everything moved. Glad you have the quad and trailer.
In North America it’s called a hutch and buffet.. hutch is on top of the buffet. A hutch buffet set holds linens , silverware , fancy dinnerware glasses, for dining. 😊a dresser holds lingerie clothes etc. 🇨🇦
Truth, but I lived in England and had to have a British dining room. Couch and large Welsh Dresser with long table. Love Welsh Dressers even in a Texas home.
In Scotland we have what we call ‘sideboards’ in dining areas. They have the same function as the American ‘hutch’ but they will be lower so that the top can be used as a serving area or to display crockery/silverware/vases… We also have something we call a ‘dresser’ which is used for a similar purpose as a ‘hutch’. Usually with cupboards below, a couple of drawers above them and 2 or 3 shelves stacked on top for displaying your best dishes.
Shame the beautiful chair was damaged but you will fully restore it Scott. Delighted to see things are moving forward. Beautiful photography showing the winter scenery. Thank you both for being so delightful and dignified. 🐑🐑🐑🐈⬛🐈⬛
I’ve moved a lot in my life. Now, I’d like to move again but I look at my things and am overwhelmed. I have gotten rid of a lot but still. It’s like it’s never ending. More power to you.
Will be happy when you and Katie get off that island lock stock and barrel.plus sheep and cats.you both deserve the stress free life that's off the island.cant wait best if luck to you both 👍
If Scott’s jumper are wool then you’ve felted(shrunk) them you can now cut them without the stitches unraveling & sew in pieces to make them fit again or sew them into anything else you want. That’s the beauty of felted wool👍
You are doing so well, i am living in a mess at the moment too due to a problem with progressing my own move, it looks like i am going to be spending Christmas amongst boxes, but i am trying to make space. Once all is settled and i move finally i will be supporting you in your new venture. At the moment things are too up in the air, but please know i am thinking of you both amid all the frustrations. Take care both of you. Xx
You two are my heroes! First, I would not have been able to do what you did while on the island and second, the move is just awful. The horrible roads(tracks) that you have to drive over and the weather...just makes me shake my head! I pray you have it much easier once you have moved.
Resilience for sure.. never know our strength and resilience until we’re challenged. 😊.. they’ve been extremely challenged! They did it together.. I’m sure they had their moments with each other but stayed a team.
Sending you both heaps of energy and love, you will forget and move into happy, harmonious days. I'm in a similar position unfortunately in NZ, moving 800 km north for my sanity, safety and medical treatment. Hope to catch up on New Year's Eve.
Buy about 10 of those chemical dehumidifier boxes and put them in the container, everything will go mouldy otherwise as the cold steel attracts condensation.
Hi😊 I really hope you're getting a good sleep after moving all that. Hope you have had a good plate o mince and tatties, then cake and custard for pudding. You both deserve all that and more. Hope santa brings you a few new jumpers, Scott. Love n big soft cosy hugs. 💓 for fur n wool too! 😂 Helen from Scotland. Xxxxx
I remembered living in an apartment as a kid. 7 people in the apartment. When we moved to a house. My father had a van and my uncle his truck. This was in the 70s, and we didn't have a lot of stuff.
Just keep thinking your move is going to be a lot easier than theirs. I've moved 4 times in 4 years! The last time January this year to a top floor flat ( 2 staircases n 2 long landings )4 months after a temporary move! I gave up counting at 80 times up n down the stairs...couldn't walk properly for 2 days afterwards!Goodluck🍀
It’s good to see progress is being made with you getting off of Alcatraz. It was exciting to see the storage unit being filled yay! Strength and honour ♥️♥️♥️
Great to see your move gathering speed hopefully this night mare will be behind you ASAP and you start at your own speed on the croft All the very best Steve from RUGBY 🏉 ENGLAND 🏴
Just keep at it. Often big jobs get finished sooner if you break them down to smaller bits and try not to dwell on how much you still need to do. I am thinking of you both and hoping the weather holds for you. Onward and upwards! 😊
Wow, you two have worked hard moving all that furniture ..you'll deserve a rest when you finally get off that god-awful island . Difficult enough without the terain and the mud . Good job guys 😊
Keep moving forward, your making great progress being as the access is hell for moving furniture etc... Have you had any news on your access to Hilltop? 👍
I never got the complete story of why y’all have to leave the island but I think you’re going to have a bright future. I’m watching you move on my television right now and wish I was there to help you move. Unfortunately, I’ve live in Florida. You 2 keep your heads up and have a wonderful new adventure.
Looks like the moral of this story is to be really aware of what you are actually and potentially signing up for in a contract, and whether effective recourse is available for breaches by the other side.
I feel so bad for you as I sit and watch this video. When you said it's taken years off your lives, my heart sunk. Is there no one close by who can help you load and unload the trailor into the van? I so wish I was close by. 😪

You can fix it, after you calm down and think about it and stop being upset you will fix it. It's beautiful.
I'd fix it too 💚
Should of packed it himself!

At least all that muck from the poor drainage is no longer going to be your problem. I can't wait! Hardly for your next adventure to begin!

Great going, so far!! ♥♥ "May ye aye keep hale an' he'rty," till all tha move's complete!!!♥♥

You’re both making really good progress ! All credit to you xxxx
ahhh bless u both ,love watchin you 2 xx

Loving the silent movie effect once more😊
hutch is a piece of furniture for dishes, cutlery and linen.
It’s good to see that you got some help.
I think the word for you is ''indomitable). Best of luck with everthing.
Just keep picturing yourselves in that little cottage on the hill.
For future home you can get what is called a "job box". Big metal box that is lockable and securable
Moving is such a trial! You're doing great! ❤😊
watch out for condensation and mould over winter in those containers...
You’re both showing us such strength and resilience …… 🙏that the snow stays away until you get out of the hellhole that you’re dream has become x
Resilience for sure.. never know our strength and resilience until we’re challenged. 😊.. they’ve been extremely challenged! They did it together.. I’m sure they had their moments with each other but stayed a team.
Now it's a late-Scotty chair.😮
The monochrome footage had a very melancholy air. Was a bit sad. Scott's mood has improved and no problems in the post box. Haha
Sending you both heaps of energy and love, you will forget and move into happy, harmonious days.

Hopefully you can mend the lovely chair. Little by little, can’t wait to see the isle in the rear view mirror.
Late here will catch up tomorrow hopefully😊
I worry about the animals….can’t wait til you’re all SAFELY out!
I worry too.. cats I believe will be ok if they have a carrier but those sheep hmmmm it might be a bit challenging ( Shona is my favourite) 🙂🇨🇦

Bit of carefully planned restoration will fix that chair. A good winter projrct for a challenge. Ive seen it done.
table salt will help if you don’t have sand or rock salt you can put on path to make it safe
It’s not just heat, but agitation, too. Wool jumpers will shrink when over agitated. The agitation felts wool.
Have you guys got enough stuff? 😂
Scott i hope you might be able to fix the one chair,,thank you it is salvageable
slow and steady wins the race..looking forward to your new exciting adventures! Scott loved the💩comment from the post..did make me laugh!
