They should bring these back in a 100mp, weather sealed version. I like that it's just a big rectangle lol. There aren't enough cameras with viewfinders/rangefinders.
I've been grappling between the 50R and the 50s ii, they're up for the same or similar prices at the moment and I really like the physical dials and aesthetics of the 50R but the processing and autofocus of the 50s ii seems like it could be game changing for shooting events and stuff like that
I agree! If you dont mind the slow autofocus and maybe going slower with the 50R then get it, but if you want actual quick results and no issues then the 50s II
I love taking pictures with my Xpan, but don't like the workflow after. With my Fuji GFX 50R and Mamiya 80mm f1.9, I can get that same feeling, but have a more enjoyable workflow
For landscape photography the 50r is the best landscape camera ever made (not biased here! 😁). I have a 50r and use it with the GF 50mm f/3.5, GF 35-70 and with a couple "vintage" Mamiya 7 lens (80mm and 150mm). I just bought the Fuji X100vi, for a small walk around camera, but I cannot deal drop in image quality so am going to sell it. The 50r is a dream camera. If one is into video (snore... sigh...) then get another camera dedicated to that and keep the 50r for photography! I would suggest you grab a used GF 35-70mm. This lens is INSANELY sharp when stopped down to f/8. I have no idea how Fuji could make a lens that good, so cheap. It basically replaces the 35mm equivalent of a 28mm, 35mm and 50mm lenses.
Definitely viable option! I just love shooting XPan on the medium format, and the experience using the 50R is really fun. Just a preference thing more than a technical thing!
I just got to use the GFX100sii for a while at an event the other day! It was great, and now I’m wanting to buy one. This would result in a hole in my wallet though lol
Ahah I was just looking at getting this 50r over the holidays 😂 I have been influenced
This officially confirms I am doing a good job 🙌🏻

There might be one! Hopefully
Any medium format is always still worth it. Even the one back from 2000s :)
So true
Respect for using an Mamiya 645 lens! Vintage lenses and film cameras are rad
Will definitely add more to the collection!
Fantastic video Taha! I think a GFX is in my future 🥹
It will be worth it!

I have 50R fantastic gear.
its tactile experience is addictive
I SO AGREE!

The 80mm is next on my purchase list!

Man i love this comment! I was thinking of getting the mamiya 80mm, is it worth it?
I'm selling my FF Sony stuff to go to a gfx50. After bringing some raw files into LR I'm sold. I'll keep a Sony apsc for my birds.
Lets go! Welcome to the club!
I wouldn’t say it’s going backwards, more like sideways 😉
Very true!
Hmm maybe this is a sign to get into medium format 👀
is this royal botanical brother?
High park!
@ oh okay okay! thanks bro! love the video btw
Why wouldnt you just use a FF camera with something like a voigtlander nokton? Isnt f2.8 on med format equivalent to something like f/2 or 1.8 on FF?
Definitely viable option! I just love shooting XPan on the medium format, and the experience using the 50R is really fun. Just a preference thing more than a technical thing!
@@snapsbytahafair enough, suppose you now always have the option for much better lenses now that you own med format
Tfw shallow depth of field isn't everything
Well, digital MF has another ratio you could use so there's more flexibility with printing options/cropping.
Gfx 50r will go up in price by next year
Unfortunately!
Those shorts though!
OH NO

Was the event in Toronto? 👀
