Beautiful. At the age 44 I purchased my first full fat Gibson LP recently. Heritage cherry burst 50's. I cannot stop looking at it, let alone stop playing it.
I have Gibson Les Paul 60s Standard in Iced Tea! 💪Greets from Poland...
Nice. I got the 50s Goltop last year. Flawless. Gibson are making some great guitars these days.
Unburst is my favourite color in Gibson's Les Paul Std original collection series. looks killer. sounds great too.
Got my Unburst 2 weeks ago & it's flawless!!! Gibson is back!!
I'm so excited, I'ma get mine in 2 weeks!
Good chops. That's a great LP
Beautiful tone
Mate, you deserve that guitar. You're doing it right!
Now that's an absolut beauty
Very nice ..I too have this guitar ..the unburst..🤙🏻🤙🏻..some decent flame going on….Gibson finally went back to the original Les Paul…no bs robo tuners weight relief..crazy pickup switches…enjoy..
can't wait to get mine, I'm still saving up
Man you make it sound fantastic!
Fantastic guitar, my man...Les Pauls rule...kudos !
Beautiful Gibson Les Paul, great playing you’re a gifted guitarist.
So good.
Nice playing and tone!
Got mine 3 days ago...
God, it's gorgeous
Great playing . It's the best looking fretboard I have seen on a USA Gibson. Looks like it could be a Murphy Lab fingerboard with expensive wood. Too many USA Gibson are shipped with a mega-dry fingerboard. When you pay $4,000 CDN + tax for a guitar, dont you think that Gibson could spend 2 minutes to moisturize the fingerboard before they hurry in order to send as many guitars as they can to dealers in 1 day ?
Now I must have one .......really nice guitar
Beautiful guitar. Your random laying and tones reminded me of what the les Paul was created for. Enjoy.
Ben my friend, this was great to watch/listen too. You look about close to my generation. Great chops you have. I'm getting my first LP Standard 50's/60's(haven't decided yet) in a few weeks around my 52nd birthday. So, I can feel your joy and excitement for having this wonderful instrument/tool in your hands. Keep on jammin' because you got the gift bro. God bless you and yours.
BTW: There's just NOTHING like a Gibson Les Paul Standard or Custom! Not a classic, traditional, or studio. Not an Epiphone, or any other replication or copy. Only a real, Gibson, made in good ole' Tennessee, USA, Les Paul Standard or Custom!☺💜🙏👍
i dunno about all THAT, I've heard some INCREDIBLE LP traditionals, and some killer Epiphones lately as well.
@@thelowmein9143 I ended up with the Les Paul Tribute satin cherryburst finish from Sweetwater. I needed an amp and accessories and couldn't spend more that a couple grand or so. I'm saving for a standard 60's next year sometime. But I do love this Tribute. It sounds amazing. And YES! You're correct. Now that i've done some homework, I realize there are some great Epiphones too. God bless.
I disagree, my Studio sounds and looks AMAZING. Especially if this guy was playing it.
What’s wrong with Classic? They have the same pickups.
@@redfrozenseven Absolutely! You can't go wrong with the classic ad well.
Way Cool!
very nice guitar!
Nice!
what a gorgeous guitar. truly heaven sent. if only I had the money haha
credit is a wonderful thing when you are a starving musician cost me 191 a month for 12 months at AMS no credit check just bank account after you achieve rock star status buying smaller items and paying them off , all you need is a bank account debit card to verify your identity
Yes you deserve it!
Pretty guitar 🎸
I just got a classic lite its incredible and cheap 1699 new sounds better then my standard but has the 57 classics
@@bengordon7635 that’s awesome. I Love an LP! I have a slash LP which is my favorite, a standard with some slash pickups I found (yet the guitar sounds different then my slash guitar- has its own tone) and I have a 1991 classic. The classic has an ultra thin neck that I don’t care for but I have had that guitar since 91 so it’s sentimental. I find myself looking at a 50s unburst currently! It’s an addiction
@@slashtrio THIS IS THE GUITAR YOU WANT WITH A FAT 50S NECK ITS UNBELIEVABLE ruclips.net/video/ibCmIdWTWMY/видео.html
Have the same guitar I bought this summer in Nashville at Gibson Garage. As far as comments on the price increase below, it’s called the laws of supply and demand and the shortage of supplies, cost of lumber, etc. Are you paying the same for groceries and gasoline as you were a year ago? I don’t think the gasoline and groceries are any different than last year either.
The best Les Pauls to come out of the Gibson factory in a long time, absent the Custom Shop.
Enjoy !!!
I got mine as a minor blemish for 2100 and it was mint I could not find anything
@@bengordon7635 That's a deal! My brother got lucky the other day and purchased what was labeled as used; "2020 model" Slash Les Paul 50's series with the November burst. I went with him to look at it. Turns out the serial number on the back indicates it is a 2021 built on the 61st day of the year (March 2, 2021). Makes sense since the tech sheet in the case candy indicates it went through QC on March 3, 2021. Someone bought it for a demo testing along with a PRS and traded them both in at Guitar Center where it was on the wall. There was absolutely NOTHING wrong with it and under the used gear section (I would call it perfect). He paid $2500 (it's a $3K guitar new) for it after all said and done but he had extra strings, cleaning solutions, and other items they threw in. So now we both have 21 model Les Pauls!! Happy Days!
Paid 1700 @ GC for mine cuz it had a repaired headstock
Sounds great, are those the stock pickups? What amp are you playing through?
Nice guitar and nice tone. I have a 60's standard in iced tea and love it. What amp are you playing this through? I think I hear some reverb or chorus. Any pedals?
I can't decide between the 60s sunburst or 50s cherry burst LPS I've played both and they are amazing
I went with the 60's in the honey amber finish. Simply because I wanted a neck profile different than my other les pauls. No regrets. The neck is not as slim tapered as I thought it would be. It's a welcome addition. Finish is flawless
It's mostly all about the neck and pickups. Thicker neck + Slightly lower output pickups = 50's.
This video shows what a wonderful crunch the 60s have. It's amazing. 50s is a little warmer and more bluesy. 60s a little brigther and crunchier. That's it really...
Great playing! I ordered the same guitar today, can't wait to get it. how is the tuning stability on yours? Thanks!
I LOVE MINE THE BEST
Love mine, instant no1 baby :) - Tuning stability can be achieved on any guitar and mainly depends on how smooth and uninterrupted return path of the string is. Given this is two months after your post I wander how do you find it so far?
@@boobooaumy Classic has strings that are 2 years old. They are still always in tune
sounds pretty darn sweet to me...I want one..lol
Nice tones! What amp and pedals do you use?
on this was Roland micro cube my main rig is Marshall JCM2000 TSL212 .. T.C. electronics G-Force rack multi effects .. Boss ce 2 chorus made in Japan
@@bengordon7635 How do you like the TSL? I have wanted to try one since I got my JCM 2000 DSL 50 watt head. That thing is awesome. I would think the TSL is the DSL with another channel.
How is the neck on this? Isn't it the 60's slim taper? I have a 2013 Traditional with the chunky 50's neck and I really like the profile. Not sure if slim taper would work, but I love the colors (can't get the unburst in lefty, but Bourbon Burst and Iced Tea look great). Might have to go with the 50's Gold Top.
Excellent playing by the way!
@@leftygtrplr6184 Its my favorite the amp I use these all the time
That's actually a good tone. What amp did you use? Also do different pickups make a big difference on a Les Pauls tone?
Sweet baby jesus
AMAZiNG!!
I would order one, but I am tooooo scared that I will not like the flame top, as its lottery when u order it without knowing what u get.
Order from somewhere where you can see the individual top, like sweatwater or some reverb shops
@@WolfKeeper32 I'm in Europe, but I found some noce shops that has them in stock, so I could jump there and see them in person 🤟
what gauge strings do you use?
9 - 46
How does this 2021 Gibson LP Standard compare to your 2004 Gibson LP Standard?
The 2004 feels modern , alittle stiffer , taller skinner frets dense wood straight forward crisp tight tone .. the 2021 has a woodier tone , edges are rolled more , vintage low wide style frets .. lighter woods ,, the 2021 is a classic vintage rock machine
@@bengordon7635 Thank you taking the time to share your opinion. Much appreciated.
Yeah, I currently have a 2019 LP standard 50s, but I used to own a 2002 LP standard 50s, and that one sounded more punchy and bright too; my 2019 has more growl and a woodier tone. Not sure if the wood they sourced was different or not back then. Both sounded great, and different, but I have to give the slight edge to my 2019--- the neck profile is a bit fuller, narrower fret nibs, and the tone is more balance . Thanks again!
What pink floyd song was that?
Another brick in the wall pt 2 solo
Do you have the stop bar posts all the way to the wood ?? I do and top wrap Too much of a break otherwise Very cool thanks
no I have to have a certain string tension not every les paul and strat are the same I sit me tail piece to the strength of my fingers for bends if I can not get the proper tension on bends at 12th fret I junk the guitar even a custom shop I sell it immediately ,, a guitar should be effortless to bend and the note should be extremely smooth in feel and sound
I have a hunch Ben Gordon knows what he's doing
Is that the 60’s?
Yes
Nice. Where’d you get yours?
www.americanmusical.com/
Back at the barnyard.
Super nice. I purchased a Les Paul tribute and it’s a pile of garbage. Going to return it and buy a Les Paul standard 50s.
yes unfortunately the cheaper gibsons use less then desirable tone woods the les paul tv yellow special 50s is the cheapest you can go that has the highest quality Honduras mahogany and real rosewood fretboard that model is excellent nice fat neck and feels like an old 50s les paul

There's really not much difference between this model and last year's model yet Gibson cranked up their price $200 more
check the current situation we're in. i had to wait 4 months to get mine
I have both 2020 ruclips.net/video/OgQjIjUdMtc/видео.html and the 2021 . the 2021 has better wood more airy , better profile on neck , thinner binding , plays more like a vintage guitar the fret work is different more like the custom shop models
@@bengordon7635 totally agree! I just got the 2021 50’s Standard Wildwood Select in Honeyburst! Phenomenal figured top! It’s quality is so close to a custom shop! Yes, I have one to compare it to. Lol
