  • During the Cold War, the U.S. government built several missile silos around the Adirondacks to defend the homeland. One was renovated into a home in Lewis, N.Y.

I've been in several of the Atlas F sites. Lots of fun to explore. I am a former Titan II crewmember. Sorta similar to a Titan II but still different in several ways. I pulled about 250 alerts in the Titan II system at McConnell AFB back in the mid 70's.

I was there in the late 70's early 80's. Did most of my alerts at 2-3 both as a Dept and MCCC

Someone needs to send that "architect" back to school cuz the living room area and sleeping area looks like shit! Nice plastic table and chairs, especially like the single beds, they do look comfy........I realize the price tag of $750,000 is for the silo but for that much money at least make the interior nicer.

Agreed. Stick some placcy tables in and call it a day.

Damn. That sleeping area at 0:44 looks like it could be a photon torpedo launch control station in the original star trek series.

Human beings ,as we know it, are not built to live under such conditions.
    Long term.

That’s why there’s a 3000 ft log cabin located right above it. Along with a barn, a hangar, a banghar, and a runway. I think any human being would manage hahaha

Anyone considered these silos be a nice
Place to place the homeless short term ,
Fix them up to good living standards ,
    Be nice shelters ,
And it sure as hell be better than the
    Streets ,
    Or a jail cell ,
Until they could find more permanent
    Housing ,
    Just a thought I had people !
    What's your opinions ?
