I understand why he didn't asked her for help. She almost killed Jason while they were sparring just because she got mad. She can't say "My powers are fine" when it's just not true. Here, she implied that Gar is weak and useless to fight, mocking his abilities as if they were nothing and degrading him to just being an animal. Even then, Gar remained calm, but her calling Jason an idiot was what triggered him to lash out. Raven shouldn't defend Rachel without seeing how she acted first and after saying all that shit about Gar she just can't expect him to act as if her comments didn't bothered or affected him at all. It's unfair.
This was all part of slades plan but I hope the next season focuses on her learning to control her emotions. Because, she really cant control her power at full extent. Not yet.
