Only 1.5 episodes in and I’m hooked. Love the series and seeing the different family’s share their takes on the sport and how much work goes into something for such young kids.
I've been following Reagan for just over 2 years now, I knew right away she's got something special. Not to mention Reagan is one bad mama-jama. The best part....THAT FLYING PONYTAIL!! In a sport notably populated with male riders, young or old, girls/female riders are proving they can and will ride peg-to-peg with the best. I'd suggest everyone pay close attention to Reagan, JaseyRae Jones, and Raycin Kyler. Those three ladies will take the female moto world by storm, considering of course parents keep a keen eye on possible burnout.
Yelling at your kid the way he did isn’t productive. My dad was a hard ass on me and I felt a bit of resentment at times, let the kid develop and push them when the time is right or they will just be another rider with wasted potential
Kids needs to be pushed a little past their limits. They don’t know yet that they can achieve things. Best thing my dad did was get me into riding. When my bike stalled half way up a huge hill he didn’t come get me and bail me out. He made me figure it out. Great job Lewis Fam!

Yeah, my three year old was up here for that bit and I had to explain that I will never yell at kids. We're here to have fun. What's wrong with just fun?
I raced all of my childhood, atv motocross. My dad yelled a good amount when i went pro am. It didnt bither me because i knew it was out of love. He put his life/marriage in hold and spent every oenny he had to take me racing, tje man was stressed out. If i was slacking off he gave me shit. He was giving me 100% to rsce the highest level of my ability and he expected equal effort on my part. He always said if its not what i want tell him and we csn go back to riding nkt racing. Alot of these oarents are so far in debt for their kids its scsry, and nit alm parents ha dle it well or equally. You really cant judge this from the outside. My best memories are at the trsck or trsveling to the rsces with my father. I woukd change the good and bad times for nothing. That’s a weak cop out. Big difference between positive critique and abuse, the girls dad at the track was straight out abuse. I find it funny that dads like that ask their kids to do stuff on a moto that they could never do.
Kinda sad seeing the fun literally sucked out of riding for these kids, while also remembering the fact that am titles mean absolutely squat in the big picture. Take it down a notch and let them have fun, please....
@@Itspapas09 I agree. But yelling at your daughter/ son like that is gross, I find it funny that most parents like this that yell instructions like that at their kids cannot do what they asking their child to do on a bike.
These kids have all the fun. Even if they had a bad race and lose. They've spent the weekend with friends. Raced their hardest and ultimately did it because they wanted to. A kid don't listen to their parents when we say GOOOO FASTER. They hit that throttle when they want to. And they just love being a moto kid
I’m Maverick’s Grandma and trust me , these kids are having loads of fun!! You really have no idea what the moto racing world is like if you think these parents are doing it for themselves. The amount of time and money they have to invest is insane! My daughter spent 3 months single parenting it in Oklahoma in an RV so that Maverick could train. There are plenty of other sports that they could do, but Maverick wants to race. It’s literally in his blood.
My son was 8 when I got him a kx60 and took him to Hollister. For a year he rode there, I had no intention of racing, I just wanted him to be able to ride with me in vast deserts of S.E Utah. After a year I-we took a chance.... up to then I thought kids racing MX was dangerous and parents must be whack jobs. I was right. David took off, wheelied and fell, got up 15 seconds behind 15 kids. And then chased 1st place across the finish line. 2nd place from last. I was hooked. He did the same thing in the 2nd moto. I said to him "Good news and bad news:: You know how to race. And because of your finish you are without excuse". This was 1995. Ten years later, 200+ races, and 85% were 1st-3rd!. Almost all GFI/AMP, some CMA, Hangtown AMA , Glen Helen once a year. He would have made a first rate pro but he gets armpump and still does at age 38 but he's Very Fast, still goes to the track but Rarely races. And we raced ALL the fast Calif Kids. And many turned pro and had good results. And he doesn't crash, not often. Not crashing was worth a small fortune! Crashing hurts. He had some close calls, when the crash was happening I thought it was The End.... And in The End, most fast kids don't turn pro. and some stop riding. You must go with the flow, and there'a a Lot Flowing! For the fun, When he was 13 I put him on my Yamaha 250, bored to 305. He was racing 80 int. His 250 laps were fast enough for 4-6th in the Nov class so I put him in the 250 Beg.... Oatfield Ca. He waxed the class. I don't think he left 2nd gear. And because I never intended to race MX, the arm pump thing was not a big deal. He didn't want to try the surgery cures and I don't blame him. Reagans dad is such a tool. He’s sitting there saying its likely she has no future in pro motocross and continues to blow up and belittle her trackside, for what?. I think she has huge potential to go pro and ride with the big dawgs when she is older but he will probably burn her out on it by the time she is 16. Just couldn’t convince them that I wanted to race so bad. My dad hated two strokes, he said they were too loud. So I got to race BMX instead. I’m still a huge SX and MX fan. Those friends I watched as a kid became pros and did very well. Mike Keidrowski, Willie Surratt, Mike “Mouse” McCoy were all my good friends growing up. Only if my dad would have seen you could make a career out of racing. Well maybe not a great career back then because they all had to get real jobs after racing. But these days you can retire in style if you win races and championships
