    Thanks for the video on this. I'm planning on getting a UScope mainly because it's so compact and does not require a PC connection. I like having that mobility. I must confess, even though I've watched Enrique's videos before, I had no idea that the Hantek had so many interesting software features.

      I am not familiar with a UScope but that sounds pretty interesting not having to use a pc and being compact and portable. That seems like that might come in handy. Yeah the hantek software does have some nice features for being a very inexpensive scope. Well thanks for the comment and have a good day.

      +AJ “Figgy” Pierce You can see it at AESWave.com. It's a one channel scope. It's been used in a couple of ScannerDanners videos.

      +Baxrok2 I bought the uScope master kit a few months ago from aeswave. It's a nice little scope and has some preloaded reference waveforms, cursors, and presets for current probes. Can give readings for voltage, frequency, amps (peak to peak, min max, average). So far, I've found an unresponsive o2 sensor on a OBD1 vehicle, secondary ignition misfires, and a shorted ignition coil on a no-start Honda. Also used it for relative compression. Making adjustments can be a bit cumbersome due the small button size. You can take/save waveform snapshots (works well with steady waveforms. Snapshots of jumpy waveforms can be a little tricky). I've found it easier to just use the hold button on the scope and take pics with my phone instead. I recommend getting a protective silicone boot for it (on aeswave), and keep the screen protector on.

      +JJ Wow, thank you so much for the info and advice. Yours if the first ever user feedback that I've heard on the uScope. AES seems to have let the uScope site die and even the RUclips videos are lacking useful information and user feedback. That's partly why I haven't made the purchase yet. It's good to hear that you are using it and like it. I'm even more inclined to buy it now. Thanks again!

    I cant seem to figure out the Chart they have in this program. They dont list any values to any of the grid. It's hard to distinguish what it is I am looking at.. I wish there was a software to do that, or a way to make this one show what the actual measurement is on the fly.

    How is the amp probe? Does it look like a little metal tube? I searched on ebay for kits with amp probe but looking at the photos in the descriptions, In the bundled accessories didn't find anything resembling what I thought would be a amp probe.

    Do you know if it has presets for using pressure transducers? Or do you know if you can use them with this scope?

    • @figibloom
      @figibloom  8 лет назад +1

      +Jarrod Vaught
      I do not see any presets for that type of device. I am not sure if they are software compatible or not. You can check the www.hantek.com/en for more info. The majority of pressure transducers I have seen usually have a 5v power, ground, and signal wire. The ones I have seen usually output milivolts or volts on the signal wire. So I know that the scope could see the output voltage of a transducer. However If the scope does not have software presets you would not see the psi conversion on the screen and you would have to know what voltage represents what pressure and convert. I hope that makes sense. I know the more expensive scopes like a picoscope has presets and will do the conversion no problem but I am not sure if the cheaper Hantek will or not. Well I hope this info helps you out. Thanks for the comment and have a good day.

    thanks

      +Chrismalito Terec
      I do not believe it has a setting for ac, but I am not for sure. When selecting parameters on the software, I can select various probes to switch the voltage rating from as low as 10milivolts all the way up to 50kv depending on which probe I select or current from 10miliamp to 1000amps, but I cant seem to make it select ac, and the dc is always highlighted, so I am not sure. I dont want to test it on 115v ac, because the last time I saw a person hook up a labscope to a 115v ac outlet blew up the labscope. So I am not sure. You can go to the english hantek website and download a manual and maybe find out for sure. Well thanks for the comment and have a good day.

    I have same scope but can't seem to get any waveforms from the HT 25 ignition lead, the one that clamps to the plug wire.

      +Chris C
      Perhaps try using the preset setup. Click on the vehicle tab and then on diagnosis setup and then on ignition and choose one of the ignition presets and that might help you. Here is a video of somebody using an ignition probe and you can see how they set it up ruclips.net/video/ppActthRa70/видео.html The other thing I would verify is that you are actually getting spark, and there are a lot of ways to do that. My preferred method is to use a simple spark tester. If you are getting spark you should be able to see a waveform, and if you are not getting spark you could have a fault somewhere in your ignition system. ( module, cranksensor, rpm signal, or possibly a few other issues) I am curious as to why you are testing your ignition system to begin with, are you testing it just for fun and educational purposes or do you have something actually wrong with your vehicle. Well I hope this info helps you out. Thanks for the comment and have a good day.

    • @BlackBlade0001

      I am doing this test just to learn how to use this scope better. I verified there is spark by using test light to ground and holding the test light tip close as I removed the boot off the coil..good fat spark. I used a few presets and just gives me the sample waveform and a flat line for actual live signal. Im suspecting a crap lead but would like to see somebody else using a ht 25 test lead to be sure Im not missing some setting. Those vehicle presets are quite generic and not really sure which one fits the bill. I was hooking up to a plug wire on a 2005 Impala 3.8L.

    • @figibloom
      @figibloom  8 лет назад

      +Chris C
      I think the 2005 Impala uses a waste spark ignition, so perhaps try doing a google search for testing a waste spark ignition system with a scope. You may try the pico scope website they have some great info on wave patterns and how to do various types of automotive testing, so that might give you some ideas. Also here is a good article that may help. www.motor.com/magazinepdfs/071999_06.pdf
      But I could not find to much info online showing how to do this test exactly, and I have still yet to play around with my ignition lead yet. I plan on making a few how to videos in the near future with my scope, but I have just been super busy lately. Well anyway I hope you are able to figure out how to make it work. Good luck to ya.

    • @BlackBlade0001
      @BlackBlade0001 8 лет назад

      All I was really trying to accomplish is using that HT 25 test lead on a plug wire, just so happened that my buddy had his 05 Impala handy. Yes it is a waste spark system. At this point I would just like to see any kind of waveform from it, then I know the darn lead is good or not, for no doubt the quality of it is not the greatest. Might try and find another similar type inductive test lead for the scope instead.

    Can you do a virtual compression test with the Hantek?

    • @figibloom
      @figibloom  7 лет назад +1

      I am not sure if you are talking about the same thing I am thinking of. I have not heard of a virtual compression test, I have heard of a test called a relative compression test, not sure if that is what you are talking about. If you are talking about using an amp clamp on the starter cable to check the starter amp draw while cranking the engine over then yes the Hantek will do that just fine. Here is a video of a guy using a Hantek to do the test I am talking about, not sure if this is what you are looking for.

      AJ Pierce when doing a relative comp test, disable the fuel and ignition system and property open the throttle plate either manually for cable or mechanical linkage to wide open throttle, or use a capable obd2 device, ie snap on 2 or 4 channel scantool,and labscope combo, or otc genesis scan tool, or possibly a gm tech2 scanner for the newer vehicles with the computer module controlled throttle body, oh and make sure before you start the test, that some jackass didn't stuff a rag in a tailpipe , that can cause you a misdiagnosis of a bad camshaft, or bent exhaust pushrods, one of my former co worker did that to me and it cost the shop about$2k cuz we had gotten authority to tear the customers engine out of the car and then I had the whole engine torn apart before the jackass let me know what he'd done, but there's that advice

  • @trainer2018

    Pretty cool Aj. Having a scope is better than not having one at all. Look forward to seeing you hook this up to a vehicle to test. If you go to the MotoYam82 channel he gives a link on how to make a homemade inclyinder pressure transducer. Check it out.

      Thanks for the reply, I watched that other video and it does not help. Whta I ended up doing is using google and downloading 1.0.10. Also FYI I found that you had to install the driver for the oscilloscope first then install driver then software and all shows up in English.

    Hantek CANNOT handle Automotive high voltage noise causing it to hang / reboot and crash the attached pc. Save your MONEY and buy the Pico as they ACTUALLY work. The HanTOY is a joke for working around any High voltage noise no matter how you route the wires.... No it s NoT decent
    ... my 21 model purchase is a POS even though they have improved tge software install and alternative way to have a usb driver. Avoid the Hantek if you value your time and actually want to work around DIS cable ignitions... maybe coil on plug you may get away with the Hantek but I hear peoples have trouble with it on alternator diagnosis as well.
