Metallica - Orion (Remastered with louder bass)

  • Опубликовано: 22 окт 2010
  • One of the best Metallica songs, remastered with Aucadity.
    Changes:
    - Bass guitar's sound volumed up, so it's like lead guitar
    - Drum sound changed a bit. Kicks are more audible.
    - Guitars' sound volumed down a bit,excluding guitar solos.
    Tracks are ripped from Guitar Hero: Metallica
    NOTE: I DON'T SAY THIS IS BETTER THAN THE ALBUM VERSION BUT IT SOUNDS GREAT,SO I UPLOADED IT.
    R.I.P. Cliff Burton

    used to always think 1:45 was a lead guitar, back when i was naive and unknowing...
    so truthfully cliff deserves (even now) the credit he has and even more for bringing something new to the bass guitar - at least for the genre at the time. more melodies, use of more dynamics, and at times even overpowering the electric guitar itself.
    thanks cliff.

      That's just the thing that has made me so amazed by this song for years: Just with some distortion effects, Cliff could have, and did, fool many to think that some of his most amazing parts in the song was played on a guitar, and not a bass.

    I think this might be the best balance I've seen of these remixes that emphasise the bass.
    This is where it should have been right from the start with the bass always being audible but not overpowering the guitars when they are the focus.
    The slight change to the drums is nice too, especially in the outro.

    Description: "NOTE: I DON'T SAY THIS IS BETTER THAN THE ALBUM VERSION BUT IT SOUNDS GREAT,SO I UPLOADED IT." Oh, trust me, it's far better. Funny how a fan of the band did a much better work than all those "professional" music producers.

    • @LulzAreGud
      @LulzAreGud 9 лет назад +28

      PantMal Well, the reason basses are -usually- washed out in comparison to the other instruments in that period of time is the loud bassy imprints on the vinyl disc would cause the needle to bounce and make the record sound choppy, or in some cases it would skip entire seconds of the song
      That's why there are a LOT of official re-mastered re-releases of old metal albums

    • @PantMal
      @PantMal 9 лет назад +4

      3 Dollars and 50 Cents So when Kill Em All was released, people had problems with it? I think this album is a bit famous for its louder-than-usual bass, yet I haven't heard anybody having those problems. And besides, we all know that the bass isn't treated much differently now that CDs are used.

    • @LulzAreGud
      @LulzAreGud 9 лет назад +5

      Kill Em All's mastering was a lot more washed out and just treble-y in general, Master of Puppets was mastered much much louder and bass heavy, especially with the guitars. The combined bass of the bass guitar and the 2 main guitars would cause serious playback issues, its a very very common problem with turntables when playing loud music. Its either sacrifice the loudness of the guitars in favor of the bass guitar or lower the bass guitar in favor of the guitars. It being a thrash album, guitar obviously has a higher priority. Theres a lot more technicality and thought put into mastering records than just "ehhh lower the bass track", thats why they get producers

    • @LulzAreGud
      @LulzAreGud 9 лет назад +13

      As for people washing out bass in modern albums, Id say thats just cause modern 'metal' has degenerated to the point where guitarists are playing single note 'riffs' and people dont have the taste for groovy ass basslines anymore

    • @PantMal
      @PantMal 9 лет назад +4

      3 Dollars and 50 Cents I don't know much about turntables and stuff, so you're probably right. But still, I feel that guitarists always had a "thing" with bass players. I mean, come on, how do you explain "And Justice For All"? As for nowadays, I think there are good metal bands still out there. But the bass for some reason is still "secondary". I think that most guitarists have some sort of ego about their guitars and want to be heard more.

      cut out the bass out of a song that has it "blended in." The guitar tone becomes much less heavy, thats why the bass is blended in. Here in this remaster i think theres TOO MUCH bass, if you like to hear bass just listen to iron maiden, the bass and guitar tracks are completely seperated in that they dont blend in

    • @ternsenzen
      @ternsenzen 5 лет назад +4

      @@VN-hg5yy nah dude sometimes more bass adds more life to a song, like its more instruments being played, its hard to describe, thats why my favourite album of deicide is legion, because you can hear the bass and it adds more to the brutality of the sounding, in here its the same, the loud bass adds heaviness and life to the song.
      anyway our opinions may be different, ive turned more into a basshead in the last years, songs become less "plastic" and sounds more natural.

  • @Kragnorak

    Ever notice that when the bass is boosted the other instruments are still audible? Yet bass is too often buried. Pay attention mixers?

    • @LuchoCastle_11
      @LuchoCastle_11 8 лет назад +28

      +Kragnorak Obviously, there is a reason why the bass is called the bass... it's not supposed to be outstanding.

    • @ravenstudios12
      @ravenstudios12 8 лет назад +91

      how does that relate to the name "bass"? Bass just means any instrument that is lowest in pitch, not voice. Also, it's music, there aren't really any actual rules, just scales and norms that you have the option of following.

    • @LuchoCastle_11
      @LuchoCastle_11 8 лет назад +4

      Theodore, that was my original point. I meant bass (the instrument) as well as bass (the role) to some extent, but the principle is pretty much the same thanks to physics and our ears.

Listen to him in an interview, hardly a peep from him, the untalented crab-walking hack. He's just there to fill equality quotas.
