CLIP DESCRIPTION:
Crossing the swamp, the boys are set upon by leeches; Gordie (Wil Wheaton) finds one in a very private place.
FILM DESCRIPTION:
Based on the Stephen King short story The Body, Rob Reiner's easygoing nostalgia piece is set in Castle Rock, OR, over Labor Day weekend, 1959. A quartet of boys, inseparable friends all, set out in search of a dead body that one of the boys overhears his brother talking about. The foursome consists of intellectual Gordie (Wil Wheaton), born leader Chris (River Phoenix), emotionally disturbed Teddy (Corey Feldman), and chubby hanger-on Vern (Jerry O'Connell). The boys' adventures en route to the elusive body are colored by the personal pressures brought to bear on all of them by the adult world. Richard Dreyfuss, playing the grown-up Gordie, narrates the film, while Kiefer Sutherland dominates every scene he's in as a brutish high-school bully.

Just watched it for the first time a few days ago and you're certainly right. Each actor had a realistic personality and I think that definitely makes a difference. They all did so good for this movie.

This is one of my favorite movies ever. When I first watched It I feel so touched that I couldn’t even sleep thinking about how beautiful and brilliant this masterpiece is. Beautiful story of friendship.
One thing that I noticed toward the end of the movie after having seen it many times, was that Gordie had a smile on his face as he and Chris parted ways. I think that time with his friends, but especially his best friend Chris Chambers, was exactly what he needed. He had confided to Chris that he hadn’t cried at Denny’s funeral. I think he cried inside, but because he had been ignored by his parents ever since his brother died, so when he broke down in tears for the first time as Chris sat next to him and put his arm across his shoulders, Gordie cried very hard. I imagine that if Ace and his gang hadn’t shown up, Gordie would have had hugged Chris and said “You don’t know how much weight you just took off my shoulders!,, Chris! When you get home, tell your parents I said that!” as a Christian, I can imagine his older brother being raised from the dead and giving Gordie a big hug when Gordie got home.
In the book, he kinda asked Chris to take it off for him LMAO

He told a story about when he and his friends were swimming in a pond and when one friend did a handstand, Stephen saw dark spots on his friend's legs and at first thought it was mud. He went for a closer look and realized the pond was full of leeches.
This movie has some amazing actors like Will Wheaton, a young Jerry O Connell Corey Feldman and the late River Phoenix.
i watched this scene when i was younger and at that time bc i just liked watching scenes from random movies and i didn’t know what the movie was and recently i just watched the movie and i remembered this scene and literally starting crying🥺

Something similar happened to me when I was younger, I had leeches all over my back and legs. Leeches don't hurt, their spit numbs you and prevents blood from clotting, that's why you bleed so much.
