I love Jane Wiedlin and she has a brilliant mind for making music and music videos and the song and video is so beautiful and brilliantly made loving it
"It all comes from a place of love. It should come from a place of love. Well, it mostly comes from a place of love." These lyrics crack me up every time. Also, this is a marvelous album everyone should buy immediately.
Hypnotically beautiful vocals and percussion. Also love the minimalist guitars. As always, Jane has a great ear for melody and hooks. I like the way the bridge comes in strong with the harmonies. Nice counterpoint to the rest of the melancholy and haunting melody. Really nice tune...and video. I've always been a sucker for marionettes. Jane is a gifted song writer and obviously knows who to work with. I'm not familiar with Pietro Straccia, but clearly a good choice to compose with.
I love this so much! As a long time Jane fan it's so nice to see her have such a great collaborator (Pietro) to bring out her awesome lyrics with awesome music. This song and video is awesome. Also thanks to the awesome Travis!!
The hands opening the curtains at the beginning are great too. "See right through them," since the face of the hands is transparent, or camouflaged (Bowie), or blind (this song). The lines "The scope was pointed straight ahead, A new wave hit me instead, It was so dumb" reminds me of the mention of rain on his face while in a car in the Marc Bolan oeuvre, and of my surprise sometimes when I cover the headlight on my bike helmet, or put my hand in front of my face when I am shaving in a round mirror. It is easy to forget that one has a face, it being see-through and all, unless a wave/rain hits it or something gets in the way. The puppeteer seems to be the guitarist and the puppet seems to be the wet suited lady in Rush Hour. ruclips.net/video/BlRWUgID8Jw/видео.html The dolphins remind me of the Heroes line "I wish I could swim, like dolphins can swim" by Bowie which I think is a song about a similar sort of love. I imagine the lady lost at sea becoming so good at swimming that she can jump up to meet the puppeteer or guitarist , in the peeks. Or, now lost at sea, having given up on that hope, and rightly I guess. But then, some Christians dream of the hands coming down to pick them up. I am not sure how that works. www.flickr.com/photos/nihonbunka/44608718221/ The swan boat and swans on the map remind me of Marc Bolan, though I don't know what he was on about in that song (Ride a White Swan).

Fascinating observations! The director added another layer of meaning to the song with his interpretation and brilliant story telling.
