After more than 17 years I can honestly say she still surprises me. I'm terrified for the Super Bowl, I'm rooting, and I'm beyond excited.

I also viewed some concert footage where Jay Z joined her on stage, again, she threw down. Singing involves many things... pop singers are just lazy, poor in execution because they don't train or study like past generations did... but that doesn't mean they don't have potential. Taking into account that pop is more a product than an artistic work, they always look for pop singers to develop a vocal identity that fits the style of music they want to sell and that they are good interpreters.
She's merely a decent singer, hardly a great vocalist. She depends on choreography and dancers to get by. She recently said in an interview that she wished she could whistle. I wish she could as well. It would add to her ordinary voice.

Her voice isn’t ordinary just not technically locked. Her mid belts are up there with the greats but it just not as solid all thoughout her registers
