I've made several board book minibooks. They are really fun to make. They come in some really neat shapes. I've made some by cutting the pages apart and punching holes and using binder rings. I like the way you kept them together. I'm going to try that next time.
Fantastic !! Love love love ! As I have so many of these that were my grandchildren’s and was going to donate xxxx Yay ! So excited it’s 11 pm and want to start straight away ! Thanks so much for sharing this inspiring video xx
I almost always go back and add a tiny something after I'm "done" too. This came out great! Some board books you can peel the outside layer off the pages so they will accommodate the extra papers more easily and you don't need to widen the spine. Thanks for the demo on how to do that step.
I love this! You are inspiring me to use all my vintage pictures and ephemera ! I love watching your process and listening to you..thank you for sharing!
First video in awhile I watched to the end. What a great little project idea. Your book came out beautifully. Thank you so much for sharing this process video. I learned a lot of great tips. Gold on the page ends was brilliant. 🎉
That was a cute project , a master piece if you will. Loved it. Thank you for sharing your talents💕💕💕 I have a little book like that ( a little bit bigger) and wanted to do something special…. Now I know what to do with it 😊
Just came upon your video. I also make board books. This one you've shared is delightful. Always love when there are added words of encouragement and positivity! Well done! May I ask... where did you find these adorable cut-outs? Thank you!🌺🌈🙋♀️
@@sherelynwhite4130 I’m so happy you enjoyed it! I know that the image on the cover came from a book I got on Amazon - it’s specifically made for cutting out images for collage. The other images are digital images that I had already printed out so I cannot remember exactly who I bought them from. I have lots and lots of digital images and sometimes I don’t keep track of who I bought them from😬. If you go on Etsy, you can probably search vintage photos and find some.
New subbie. Loved your altered book. It turned out great. Do you find much difference between this one that you glued the spine down from the ones you removed it entirely? Also liked the added touch of the gold painted edges and gesso spots. Thanks for sharing Patti
I do notice a little bit of difference when I open and close the books. I would recommend removing the spine piece and using tape or fabric on the spine
Thank you for sharing! Beautiful art piece. Can you please share how you use it? Due to busy background, you cannot use it as the notebook. So what you do with it afterwards? Thank you.
@@lynnesheppard993 thanks so much! The image on the cover of my little book is from a book I got on Amazon with images to cut out and use in collage. The other images inside the book are digital images that I purchased on Etsy, but unfortunately, I had printed them out quite a while ago and cannot remember the specific sellers. I think if you search on Etsy for vintage women pictures you should be able to find some good ones.
Does glue stick work or do the papers start to come off? I never have luck with glue sticks. I use mod podge. Just wondering your glue stick experience long term.
@@TwistedArtdesigns I have been using this particular brand of glue stick for several years and I have not problems with it. I think it might depend on the quality of glue stick you use, but I’m no expert. I do know that you need to apply a good amount of glue and then press it down with your hands for a short time to make sure that it adheres to your surface. Also I only use it on thinner papers (and sometimes thin fabrics).
Well, I’ve heard that it depends on the quality of the glue stick, but I’m definitely no expert. This particular glue stick I use was recommended by an artist that I trust about four years ago or more. Since I’ve been using it I have not had any problems with it. All of the pages I create in my art journals are for my personal use so I can always go back and reglue things if I need to.
In time, items glued with glue sticks can separate from the surface it's glued to. For items you might sell or give away, you could use a pva or a product called glitter glue.
What a fun idea to do with these little books. So cute with the old black and white ladies.

I always worry that the glue stick won’t hold up over time.
