oh my goodness what an incredible home. the architect is such a dear soul. he completely won me over when he told the story about the beautiful sky light he designed and then said the stars were just vinyl stickers that he put on himself as an arts and crafts project! i mean, how sweet!!!! what a cute couple! beautiful meaningful home
I really enjoy these two. Their house is wonderful,I bought the book they put out celebrating this home, lots of great pictures and so many ideas! Do you know how many times I tried to wipe that bug/spot off my iPad screen….it was on your end! Oh well!
this is by far the most beautiful home and the best episode on this channel beautiful home and beautiful couple. The way they explained everything they know how to engage people.
A wonderfully talented and gracious couple. They've created a comfortable, beautiful environment for themselves and their families, both indoors and out. Thank you for sharing your home with us.
Love this tour. I’ve been an admirer of Katie for years but this was a perfect marriage of skills from this lovely couple. I learned so much. Thank you Homeworthy.
Thank You ! Thank You ! for sharing your beautiful home! Peter and Katie have a wonderful eye and their ability to bring together a beautiful home is magical. I love their eclectic style that brings together so many wonderful colors few people have the courage to do. Peter, the entry way with the glass ceiling was fantastic. Cheers to you both!
A bit formal for me, but I absolutely love it nonetheless. Exquisitely designed and decorated. It's the quintessential English vibe that I love the most. Superb taste in vintage and antique pieces. Lovely couple with excellent taste and they should be very proud of their creation.
I collect a lot of antiques and I appreciated all the details in the creation of the house and how she decorated around the many pieces of dark furniture- bringing in color, the different collections, even taxidermy- love the garden- dreamy.
I noticed the turtle wall paper right away ❤ Looking forward to looking at the whole LINE, the graphics, scale, tonality looks super liveable. I have only made it 9 minutes in...but I know it is going to be a favorite tour, because the designer got to make and stick to her own instinctive choices, and they chose so much of their furnishings at Auction. It is the result of super eclectic choices, choosing the best of, and what could work, from what is offered....that is how I end up choosing things. for real, I do enjoy and appreciate seeing all-custom work, and the need for custom work, but I really love collected, put-together interiors the best.
OK to be fair, the VERY FIRST thing I noticed was how delightful the shape and mass and proportions were of the house, it looks like a little mid-1800s bank, and has the suprising oversized windows of old, old places up in the Maritimes, up Nova Scotia way. I saw the house in the drone shot and how quirky it was and thought "Oh YAY, they SAVED it!" because I always worry about the quirky, Old, Old, OLD places...I do not like to see all that art lost! But here it is, ideas seen and saved, reborn! WOW! I hope many clients step up and more get built! I love this home!
I think this house is so special! I wish I could live in a place like that..absolutely fantastic architectural design! Ever since I saw it on another home tour they did years ago, Ive not been able to find something equal or more beautiful than this house. Its just a very rare gem! And I agree with her choice of painting it grey with red and black! They are so lucky❤
What an amazing home and garden to tour! I loved the detailed explanation of everything from the couple. No matter what you personally think of their design choices, colours, antiques etc, it’s still fun and interesting to see how they’ve pulled everything they love together to create a very unique and beautiful home. The garden is absolutely incredible! Bear an’ all! 😝🐻
Have to add you know you're special and your matrimony is blessed when THE Anna Wintour sets you up. She knows how to appropriately put any and everything together including people!
I can’t express well enough how much I enjoyed looking at this artistically designed home and garden. I love the combination of fabric patterns and collections.
What a beautiful treat to behold a marriage of Design and Architecture. I’m always so excited when she posts on Instagram. She always creates such fresh, joyful spaces✨
The Purple Den is a highlight. we plan to do this for my wife's office someday. I am surprised that purple compliments so many colors. The kitchen was a Masterclass in design. Thank you.
I love Katie Ridder and her use of color. Her book "Rooms" was gifted to me by my husband for Christmas one year and I believe that was my first real interior design book. And how lucky is she to be married to an architect!
Loved this place - they did a great job. Love their angle on things. Love the Coney Island aquarium props framing the sink, love the purple tiled entry, the needlepoint, the light cream/pink/peach living room walls (all the colors and fabrics in that room - the bullet-hole lampshade, too!). Love hearing about their design decisions and life. Great kitchen and island/pots solution, too. I used to live on Lexington and 71st and can visualize where her old store was. Super great area, as is Millbrook.
Thank you so much for sharing your beautiful home with us. What a wonderful collection of art, furniture, and sculptures. The garden and the land is just stunning.
What a beautiful house and charming couple! I like them so much, they are eloquent, serious, intelligent, sophisticated and elegant and represent all that in a quite " normal" way! They have such a beautiful style! So good to listen to them. Thanks for the tour and all the best to both of them and their family🍀 Greetings from Germany 😊
Another spectacular home and garden. And another charming couple. What great interior design inspiration here. Purple is my favourite colour too. The floor tiles in the foyer! Wow. I just love this home! Thank you so much for sharing! 😊💜🏡
Another stunning tour. I find it telling that Architects are drawn to older buildings. We have a lot to learn from the past. The proportions & aesthetic are just perfection. Why re-invent the wheel?
You have a beautiful home, thank you for sharing. I love your use of color, especially the purple floor.💜 Surrounded by things that have meaning and make you happy. Also the needlepoint, I also needlepoint and it’s nice to see it used in a beautiful way. 😊
This is my favorite house I've seen on Homeworthy. All the homes and apartments are beautiful big and small. I just love the shape and design of this home . The property is beautiful. ❤
Were I one of their friends, I would find this beautiful and very interesting house and property very comfortable to visit. Thank you for sharing this with us!😊
What a beautiful location and a great house. I could never agree to an etagere in my kitchen island but if that suits you, great. Love the turtle bay wallpaper
Love, love the doves and I will be copying that styling of my ceramic collections. The darkest room is stunning. So many compliments I could say, love so much. (I feel so bad for the camera person who had a chewing out about the dust particle.)
What I notice from nearly all interior designers is that nothing really "matches". At the same time, it's all pristine and proper. I think I'm slowly starting to appreciate it all.
Feliciano Béjar Ruíz (1920 - February 1, 2007) was a Mexican artist and artisan, best known for a style of sculpture called "magiscopios" which involved various materials along with crystals and/or lenses to play with light or create distorted visions. Wikipedia
Beautiful home. The color palette is very unique, but obviously suits them well. I love the Turtle Bay wallpaper! The etagere (their term) in the kitchen is a total miss for me! It visually breaks the room in an unappealing way. The garden is beautiful!
Finally! Someone embracing color. It's not the great American white out like most homes on here. Also, she correctly identifies herself as a decorator and not a designer. Designers are degreed. Decorators are not. Two different things. Nice house.
I was hoping the bear would show up while she was outside. I bet it loves frolicking in the pond on a hot summer day after playing catch with the cushions.

also the fact that he let his wife install purple floor tiles in his classically designed foyer!!! beautiful couple. that is beautiful co-creation
When a great architect and a talented interior designer share a home ❤
Mejor Dicho....Imposible!!!
They're a delightful couple, very sincere, and what a gorgeous home and garden! Thank you for inviting us in for a visit.
What an incredible garden!
I really enjoy these two. Their house is wonderful,I bought the book they put out celebrating this home, lots of great pictures and so many ideas! Do you know how many times I tried to wipe that bug/spot off my iPad screen….it was on your end! Oh well!
The house design and decor are impeccable! Love everything about this house and garden. The hosts are lovely.

I can't figure out how these homes get built with such quality when I can find anyone just to do simple house repairs 🫢
😆 there’s always someone if you’re rich enough to

No kidding----I totally understand you---have a nice weekend
Nice couple.
What a beautiful and lovely home! Very well put together. Thank you for sharing.
I enjoyed this home very much. The textures and colours are wonderful. I could listen to this couple all day long. 😊
Is nobody going to talk about Keith Haring painting their car for their wedding? So cool!
I agree ! I loved the car. I am sure they treasure that photo of the car.

I have never seen a home with a laylight before and I love the way it allows the natural light to permeate your lovely home.

Glorious house, such unusual but refined taste. Curious vibe between the duo.
I noticed too…
What a odd couple…he is frozen statue and camera shy may be ?
The Purple Den is a highlight. we plan to do this for my wife's office someday. I am surprised that purple compliments so many colors. The kitchen was a Masterclass in design. Thank you.
This is the most delightful duo, and I really enjoyed seeing how they live.
The circular dining room table is so beautiful
Beautiful home as well as the wonderful and warm homeowners. Thank you.
I love Katie Ridder and her use of color. Her book "Rooms" was gifted to me by my husband for Christmas one year and I believe that was my first real interior design book. And how lucky is she to be married to an architect!
Just lovely people and a lovely home. The design is a dream.

Love the circular ceiling opening
Thank you so much for sharing your beautiful home with us. What a wonderful collection of art, furniture, and sculptures. The garden and the land is just stunning.
Spectacular beyond belief. I’m amazed that this is a _weekend_ house, and am now chomping at the bit to see your city house!
I would love to see their other home
I would have never guessed that this house is a new build! I love the outside of it and the interior. What a gifted couple!
Katie is a real somebody! This is a treat!! Thank you for sharing!
I call that a semi-open floor plan. I like it.
A very unique home and lovely couple… thank you for sharing your home.
Thank you for sharing your home, design ideas and philosophies with us!

What a great building, I love its uniqueness. I’d love to have somewhere like that to style.
Handsome house. Homage to John Soane.

Love it, home the couple, yard!! Ty for sharing. My mom loved peonies!!
One of the most beautiful Towns in the World, absolutely😊
Another stunning tour. I find it telling that Architects are drawn to older buildings. We have a lot to learn from the past. The proportions & aesthetic are just perfection. Why re-invent the wheel?
Gosh these people are so wonderful.
A gorgeous property! The gardens are beautiful. I found the house delightfully colorful and comfortable... and a wee bit eccentric!

I love the lattice pattern in the upper entry space. I’ve never seen this in architecture.
The house, the garden ❤
What a great tour! I loved this home and garden. So many beautiful and interesting details. The couple was so sweet too. 😊
If you told me that it was built in 1880, I’d believe you. Wow!
Great home and couple. I really enjoyed this episode.
What a gem!? They make a great team and have created a stunning home.
Fantastic- what a privilege to see this house and garden ❤❤❤❤❤
Love your gardens. They are beyond belief in the beauty that they hold. Well done.!
Very eclectic and colorful home~ love the gardens!
This is my favorite house I've seen on Homeworthy. All the homes and apartments are beautiful big and small. I just love the shape and design of this home . The property is beautiful. ❤
Having this place to go to on weekends would make living in the chaos of NYC tolerable.
I would just stay here and never leave!
Gorgeous home! Eclectic and interesting. Lots of beautiful colour.
beautiful home and couple, like and thanks so much for all, thanks homeworthy
Just beautiful. Lovely woman who I met when she carried some of my work when she had her shop.
Were I one of their friends, I would find this beautiful and very interesting house and property very comfortable to visit. Thank you for sharing this with us!😊
Absolutely beautiful. It's traditional but slightly eclectic, a bit english inspired.
The purple floor is my absolute favorite 😍
What a beautiful location and a great house. I could never agree to an etagere in my kitchen island but if that suits you, great. Love the turtle bay wallpaper

So gorgeous. One day I will track you down to build and design our next home. This is magnificent!

0:08 to 0:11 love the way the house is shaped that thing on the kitchen island with the pots and pans blocks the view but the kitchen is nice
That shelving in the middle of the kitchen island is a bit odd.
@@andreaschmall5560 Agree! That's my only complaint. Everything else is beautiful.
Beautiful!!!
Their NPR playlist must be off da charts.
I really enjoyed this one!
Wow wow wow
I have a whole Pinterest board dedicated to this home 😂 Thank you for the video tour!
A true jem. Bravo !
LOVE the purple floor!!!
Would love to know the backstory of Petunia the skunk! Wonderful property.
So lovely
beautiful
Wauw stunning 🤩
Oh, let me pilfer in the garden all day….😊
Lovely home 🏠 😊
so pretty
I hope he still has that car.
Beautiful home. The color palette is very unique, but obviously suits them well. I love the Turtle Bay wallpaper!

Super
Finally! Someone embracing color. It's not the great American white out like most homes on here. Also, she correctly identifies herself as a decorator and not a designer. Designers are degreed. Decorators are not. Two different things. Nice house.
Looks like a Doll House. If that is a second house, imagine how much stuff is in the other house.
Love the land and architecture. Are you a licensed architect?
I like the house itself but the decorating is not for me. I wouldn’t call it an open floor plan.
The home was built very beautifully! But the owner design is and decor is horrible 😂 looks like updated peewees playhouse 😂
I was enjoying all the decos until the alligator shows up Omg I couldnt watch anymore. I do have a phobia with alligators and snakes.
I'm delighted to see colors again. Interior design has become so bland and colorless the last 20 years. I dislike so much of it. But this is lovely. ☺
Why is a bear a strange animal????
I was hoping the bear would show up while she was outside. I bet it loves frolicking in the pond on a hot summer day after playing catch with the cushions.
I don't know how you take care of all that and have a second home and have full time career jobs.
