What I find saddening is that we never have an issue coming up with funds to pay for a war, but something like Apollo that was more important to the entire world than most people realize. Every technology we have today was either invented or developed off of the Apollo Missions. This minor expense as compared to the cost of the Afghanistan War was trivial and yet what the American government spend on Apollo caused the single largest economic expansion in human history, more new companies and newer technologies all derived their access to declassified information that was given to corporations to use to create and expand new markets and future technologies. The era digital era is based off of the Mercury and Apollo missions and without that government investment no single corporation could have funded the development of even one of the technologies developed under the Space Race. So, we need to remember and understand that any federal government investment is not for instant gratification or even a technology that has a use currently but any ew development’s declassified will also bring new innovations and never more economic opportunities and growth. As, many teachers always say, “Stay the Course, and Good Things Will Follow.”

Really? Here's an idea, it all actually happened. Being old and alive in that era, I remember what we did with a slideruler, a halk board, and lots paper. There is no doube in my mind that there isn't many in today's generations that could do it because they wouldn't have their smart phones, laptope and google. Back then to give change back, the register didn't tell you how much to give back, you had to actually quickly count the change back. Today, it the register dies, every person I've seen under the age of 50 cannot count the change back because nobody lerned how to count money. I managed a theater for 5 years and gave every applcant (nearly 300 applicants) a test on handling money so I could see how much training they would need. They had to take the test without a calculator, or cell phone, which means they had to use their brain. With the exception of the senior citizens, not a single applicant passed.
