Gentlemen brought me here.. what a movie and what a song
The movie so is called "Gentlemen"
The movie so is called "David Rawlings - Cumberland Gap"
Lol I live in the Cumberland mountains and everytime I see Cumberland or anything related on the signs, I start singing this song.
The gentlemen film is a piece of art. The opening credits are the best ive seen last year and this.
@james cowboy simple but done with class
I was confused i should rewatch it
Yup, great song ..great movie
Yeah, it reminds me of snake eater opening cutscene...
Cmon, it's too overblown
The older I get the more I appreciate different genres of music.
I guess because of more life experiences, for example i hated love songs, but after my first love and break up, i understand and appreciated those music way more
So true
I like have a hatred for this style of singing…. But this is just so good…. 😅

The Gentlemen. I had no words when I first saw it.
A pint and a pickled egg brought me here.
“If you wish to be the king of the jungle, you cannot just act like a king, you have to be the king. There can be no doubt. Because doubt causes chaos and one's own demise. My queen taught me that.”
-What a great opening scene although the entire quote wasn’t spoken til the end.....The Gentlemen is an amazingly addictive movie. Guy Ritchie nailed it. 👏
👍
Just watched if for the 5th time. Enjoyed it just as much as the first!
@@jonwilliams6821 it never gets old....it’s amazing how few movies there are that can never get old. This is definitely going to be a instant classic.
Seen it at the theater 3 times. Came home and bought it on Blu-ray and also digital copy. Then when it comes on the telly I watch it again.
"Any chance?"
The Gentleman bought me here but this song on its own is absolutely fantastic Mr Rawlings definitely got skills and then some made my day
That's Mr Rawlings to you
Yeah that's amazing he took CSNY "Ohio" and just wrote new words over it. Weird Al.
It is I'm shocked that a hip hop junkie like me loves this the movie brought more fans to this track...it did the song justice.😁😆😎👍
My good taste of music brought me here. No need to watch movies to get good songs ;)

I love how movies, namely, "The Gentleman", can bring cinema and music together. I cant count how many songs I've discovered from movies and vise versa.
This song + The Gentlemen = Perfection!
They killed it with this track
Ouyeeeeeaaaa
Guy Ritchie always has some killer opening credits of his movies and this one is no different. Great movie and great song.
correct Guy nails this shit. I love his style .
He didn’t with Aladdin ….that was pants
They are awesome but also the same.
This song ROCKS! Thank you Guy Ritchie!
As a born and raised Kentucky boy, this shit gives me cold chills.
As a boy born in Virginia it sure does , Kentucky she's a waiting on the otherside!

Lyrics
Cumberland gap, it's a devil of a gap
Cumberland gap, it's a devil of a gap
Kiss me momma, kiss your boy
Bless me well and lucky
For I won't be back til' I return
I'm gone to old Kentucky
Cumberland gap, it's a devil of a gap
That's what the scouts all tell ya
Sure enough it may get tough
If it doesn't kill ya, kill ya
Kentucky she's a waiting on the other side
Give you the fever, put the daylight in your eyes
Brother John's already gone
With the full-blood Cherokee maiden
He made the trip in the blizzard's grip
I'd rather wrestle Satan
Cumberland gap, it's a devil of a gap
Oh, the snow kept coming
Picked her up upon his back
By God, he loved that woman!
Daniel stood on the pinnacle rock
Lookin' up and down the mountain
Took his trusty old flint-lock
Daniel started shoutin', shoutin':
Kentucky she's a waiting on the other side
Give you the fever, put the daylight in your eyes
Cumberland gap, it's a devil of a gap
Cumberland gap, it's a devil of a gap
Cumberland gap, it's a devil of a gap
Cumberland gap, it's a devil of a gap

Fell in love with this song immediately! It has such a timeless sound that I had guessed it would be from the 70s, still shocked that it’s a relatively new song…
But it isn't a "relatively new song" and it has been covered by more than one artist In many different forms and variations
It is an Appalachian folk song that likely dates to the latter half of the 19th century and was first recorded in 1924

Gentlemen brought me here, about 30 times. Because this song speaks loudly to my soul.
My god, those harmonies! Sublime.
If you search for a fault in this song the only thing I could find was that it ends.
Unfortunately, it just goes to show that all good things must eventually come to an end
...assuming you do, but in the event that you don't... get to know Gillian Welch.
That's her above. She & Mr. Rawlings have been working together since maybe
the late '80s. Peas in a pod√
Well put.
Guy Ritchie bringing real American music to Americans!!! Thank you Sir.
How good is 'The Gentlemen'!? And how good was this song during the opening credits!?
Pretty damn good lad, pretty damn good.
It is a good movie. Not as good as Snatch or Lock, Stock & Two Smoking Barrels but if you're Ritchie fan I'd say go watch it!
BRILLIANT
It was one of best films I’ve seen in theaters. 2020 is starting off great.
Just brilliant...
Saw The Gentlemen today, one of the best movies I've ever seen ❤️
And the opening with this song, perfect.
Fully agree, the song and the movie fire !
Country is not my typical listen...but the gentleman opened my mind
This is more folk country/ alternative country
This is good ol'rock and roll peeps.
I don't like country music much either, but folk music like this is an entirely different feeling
This isn't country, it's folk which is different
This is a country banger!! And yes this was the perfect theme song for the Gentlemen!!

It’s bluegrass, which is one of the closest musical relatives to country
@@coyotelong4349 It is, this could be an interesting conversation. My family, on both sides came from eastern KY & Bluegrass played during my early years. I hated it, I found it so sad & forlorn. There are major differences but yes, it is a sub category of country, even though Bluegrass has been around a lot longer, true.
