    I usually do not comment on vids. I’m with the CHP Alturas office. This is God’s country and also my home. I wouldn’t leave here for anything. Thank you for sharing this and stay safe.

      Hey there, thanks for stopping by the channel and for the comment. You are blessed to live up that neck of the woods - one of my favorite places to explore. So much more I could have mentioned but we just didn’t have the time. Thanks again and Adventure On!

    I was raised here’s. There’s so many hidden gems in that valley. Have you heard of the Squaw Baths just 7 miles passed Eagleville? The maple bars at the Country Hearth are nostalgic.

    Firstly, I am so happy to discover this channel thank you so much for sharing, plus I am learning about overlanding/4x4ing more than I have before. Secondly, this place is like a second home to me. Love Cedarville and Warner Mountains and Surprise Valley oh so much.

      Hey! Thank you so much for stopping by the channel, for the sub and the comment. GREATLY appreciated! First, I have quite a bit of overlanding and off-roading content here on the channel. Make sure to browse the rest of videos - I think you’ll find a lot of content that will interest you! Feel free to ask any questions you have regarding overlanding/4x4ing.
      We both share a love for the Northeastern corner of California! I wish I could get up there more often! Adventure on!

    cedarville is where I grew up. 1964-1977, my folks had a ranch backing the warner mountain.. the first 11 years of my life was pretty good up there. Thanks for filming I wondered what the place looks like. Havent been back in years.

      Hey Tomas, thanks for stopping by and for the comment! Wow, that is amazing. I'm so glad you shared. I have a couple other videos on the Warner Mountains you might be interested in. We LOVE the Surprise Valley and Cedarville. You were fortunate to spend your early years in a place like that. So glad you could walk down memory through this video. Thanks again. Adventure on!

    Cedarville ! Home away from home. Sunrise Motel... great stay and great people running it.
    Suprise Valley Hot Springs ! Heated floors... every room has an outside 'geyser' water hot tub. At night, there no lights out there, you watch the milky way spinning overhead while in a hot tub. Priceless experience ! You missed the Adel Store, Dismal Swamp, Fandango Pass, Sheldon Antelope Refuge, Catnip Lake, Denio, Fields Station, Steens Mountain, Wild Badgers, Wild Horses, Opal Mines, Wagon Slides, Gerlach... etc etc.

      Hey Yowser! Thanks for stopping by the channel and for the comment. Obviously you share a love for the Northeastern Corner of California, Eastern Oregon and North Western Nevada as well. You can see me passing through:
      - the DISMAL SWAMP & FANDAGO PASS in this video: ruclips.net/video/YYcWdmMX7CA/видео.html
      - DENIO JUNCTION in this video: ruclips.net/video/-YQcYQ9ZDQ0/видео.html
      - WILD HORSES of the Devil's Garden in this video: ruclips.net/video/Kfe4ddasOFE/видео.html
      - GERLACH in this video: ruclips.net/video/nblRIguVto4/видео.html
      I hope to get to all the other sites you mentioned in future adventures. I had intended to visit the Owyhees and the Steens, Alvord Desert and Field's Station this past week but I had some mechanical issues with my GX and had to cut my trip short. Maybe next time! Take care and Adventure On!

    I used to hitchhike a lot from Wyoming to Cedarville from 2009 to 2018. I would stay with John and Susie Bunyard at the Sunrise Motel. I did some work on their properties and helped them feed and work cattle. Great people.
    I think the first time I hitchhiked through Cedarville was back in 1999. A lot of beautiful country in northeastern California. I enjoyed hiking up the mountainside near the motel. I now live in Idaho.

      Wow, sawman, thanks so much for stopping by the channel and for the comment! You've had quite the adventure in life. Northeastern California is such a gem. I LOVE it up there. The mountain behind the Sunrise Motel, which is a part of the Warner Mountains, is quite the climb indeed!
      From your channel profile, I see that you are a follower of Jesus. Always great to meet a brother! Thanks again, enjoy Idaho and blessings of God upon your life, and Adventure On!

    Adin:
    The Oney Frosty is a favorite of both locals & travelers. Great people & Great food too. The Adin Supply is also a ‘Must Stop’ experience.
    The Fall River Frosty .. nope, not ever!
    Check out ‘Crumbs’ Resturant in McArthur next time.

    • @SoccerMomOffroad
      @SoccerMomOffroad  9 месяцев назад +1

      First, thanks so much for stopping by the channel and for the comment!
      Second, thanks for the tip on Crumbs - will definitely be checking that out.
      - Third, “Frosty.. nope, not ever!” 🤣🤣🤣. Ok, ok, I totally can see why. The reception we received was true to its name… Frosty, while locals were greeted with smiles and warmth. The state of the place was a bit run down and in need of attention. BUT, we ordered the Pitville Burger, which is made of hand pressed local beef, not frozen patties like their other burgers, and it really was a good burger. As I said, it’s no Oney Burger, but it was still good! Would I go back??? Maybe… in a pinch.
      You sound like a local. Where are you from?
      Thanks again for stopping by, really appreciate it!

      @@SoccerMomOffroad we live just outside Adin. Moved our cattle ranch here 9 yrs ago from MARIPOSA County (central Calif Mtns) & Love it here. A great typical rural community where our ‘neighbors’ are 1/4 mile to 20 miles away, but they’re like extended family.

      @@redhawklady_8 You are blessed to have been able to move to the Adin area. Every time we drive through I comment that I'd love to buy a little house there. On our visit to The Oney in this video, some of the locals engaged us in conversation and treated us like neighbors. It was great. Maybe we'll run into you on one of our Oney stops some day - Take care!

      Hi OURv, thanks for stopping by the channel and for the comment. Sounds like you might be a local? If so, you are blessed to live in such a beautiful place. The title wasn’t meant to be click bait or deceiving. To 99% of Californians, the Surprise Valley and Cedarville are a “hidden” and little known “secret” out of the way little slice of the state. Thanks again for stopping by. Adventure on!

    If youtubers continue to entice people to the ( soon to be once was) hidden gem it will be over run and change the landscape and charm of the area.

    • @SoccerMomOffroad
      @SoccerMomOffroad  11 дней назад

      That is one perspective. However, having visited these areas frequently, I can say that they are drying up and people will be moving away for better opportunities if there is not an infusion of $. Tourism is the only hope for those communities at this point, as the old trades that once made them boom towns (lumber, mining, etc.) will likely never return, and they are too remote to establish other industries. Besides, what is the difference between what we RUclipsrs are doing and what Huel Howser used to do on California Gold Trails on PBS?

    How is eating out and staying at an inn adventuring? You barely got off the pavement and aired down for no reason. I don't think you understand the concept of adventure.

    • @SoccerMomOffroad
      @SoccerMomOffroad  10 месяцев назад +1

      Hey friend, first, thanks for stopping by the channel and for giving the video a chance. I'm sorry it wasn't to your liking but I appreciate the comment. Most people just give a thumbs down but never share why they don't care for the video. I will say, in my defense, that I tried to not make the title or thumbnail click-bait. Only in the opening monologue did I share that we were on an adventure, "of a different kind". I'd like to believe there is more than one kind of adventure in life. If strictly offroading and backcountry is your criteria for the setting of real adventure, then 90% of my content is just that. I'm sure you probably won't want to browse my other episodes now that this one has left a bad taste in your mouth, but if you do, I'm sure you will some that are more to your liking. Again, thanks for stopping by and for the comment, and Adventure on!

      Obviously you have not watched any of his other videos, or have taken the time to truly listen to what is being said! Coming onto someones channel and making poor comments that are not factual is just poor taste, and shows a lack of character.
