Still one of my favorite bodybuilders of all time... His autobiography "The Black Prince" is great. I love watching these videos, hearing all of his tips and tricks, he seems so down to earth and humble.
I love how you guy's collab, a lot of these newbs have no idea just how legendary the two of you guys are and just how spoiled they are to be blessed with the knowledge that your channels content provides. Keep up the great work Ric and thanks again!
Robby is the reason I started to work out.Saw him on the cover of a mag with a HUGE AFRO (SHROOM) looked like he was from another planet.Great to see this keep it up
What i like about Robby is that he is a master at keeping it simple, he don't try to use big words or any of this new age fancy crap. just good foundation and great form with lots of hard work, Robby is a great teacher and a true legend.
Best training videos on YT, right here! Robby is phenomenal, I mean the ease in which he moves and lowers those weights, most 70 yo guys would be a bit unsteady or in pain but Robby has great genetics as well. Beast.
Robby only uses enough weight to perform the exercise with good form and fluid motion. I believe that is one of the secrets to his longevity. No serious injuries as far as I know in all his years of weight training. That says a lot. All of his peers from his heyday are nowhere near in the condition he is today.
if only more guys left their ego in the locker room and worked more on form, rather than trying to impress their mates with heavy weights. great video guys keep em coming
I hope people realize how Robby is in his 60s in this video. And how invaluable this training video is. Clients of his probably pay well over $100 per hour to do personal training with hi awesome video!
Any experienced lifter will tell you that the small details Robby mentions are worth gold. Things like where to place the weight on different parts of the feet, how proper spine alignment improvements contraction potential etc. This knowledge only comes from years of experience.
thats how you do barbell row. 90 degrees torso position , pararelled to the ground. i've done 45 degree for a long time, when i switch to the 90 degrees my upper back thickens.
Robby Robinson is so full of knowledge! I wanted to ask I'm 196lbs do you think if i cut a few pounds so i can get more nutrients for what my weight needs i could look bigger? Have thicker muscles etc?
this guy uses light weights and it has been one of the bravest bodybuilders of his time still do not understand why in gyms There is a large complex and trauma many people want to use heavy weights when your body does not need heavy weights and instead of using small weights to stimulate the muscle groups and bring more blood to the muscles many people want to lift heavy weights and they all walk with their faces frustrated and bitter unable to enjoy a day of training (muscle formation)
u r correct.i am living proof of using heavy weights for 35 years ...stated at age 18.........18 major surgeries and i live in a wheelchair...can barely use my arms..robbie trains like a fulcrum and piston
I never used heavy weights and ive been training 10 years or so, always feel the muscle burn much more when i do really slow movements, you can make 5 kilos feel heavy if you really squeeze that muscle on each rep. Heavier weights takes its toll on the body, injuries waiting to happen.
Due to a car wreck that seriously injured my wife in 2010 and then having our home almost distroyed by tornadoes in 2011. I have only been to the gym one time in almost two years. I work out at home and the only back exercises I do are bent over rows elbows out pulling to the chest and bent over rows with an underhand grip pulling to the the stomach. Strangely, I have not lost a bit of lat width. I plan on buying or building a lat machine, but I'n not sure it will make much difference.
RIC can you please teach us how to get those awesome ARMS you had in your 70s video i always when i look at that i say .. he really did have a unique physique and arm.. i havent seen robies arm in workout but you had a really good streached bicep and it looked very separated and great! i wish i could know how to get those
Sure glad I put together my own gym at home. Going to a gym is fine, if you don't have room for a basic weight set up, but always seemed crazy to me to do that if you could train in the peace and quiet of your home. I will never miss having to 'work in' on a piece of equipment. Drove me nuts.
Robby really is something! Too bad that many young bodybuilders can't appreciate these old-school guys unless they look like the monsters of today. I sure hope Tom "businessman" Platz will change his mind about doing videos with you. And maybe more videos with Al Beckles? Anyways, keep on enjoying these moments with the legends again, Ric!
Yo can you ask Robbie about Dorian Yates? I'm so anxious to hear what he thinks about him especially since Dorian has the best back currently in bodybuilding.
Maybe it's time Tom Platz remembered to back when he arrived in California with $50 and no guarantee of success, I think he would of gladly had the free exposure. Tell Tom Platz we don't want him if all he cares about is money even though he already has ample. Robby has intelligence and can see the value in doing Ric's corner.
When was 14yrs. old this was my idol. I'm 54 now and he is still my idol. Robby Robinson is Built! Thx great vid.
he da man!
Its 2021 ans I still love watching ric drasin videos
Robby is becoming one of my favorites. Very humble and a lot of knowledge.

Since I watched this the first couple of times in 2013, I always hear Robby saying 'upper back arch' whenever I do Bent Rows. Thanks, Robby. :)

I obviously need to work on my Hamstring and Lower back flexibility to do Barbell Rows like he is.

Yo can you ask Robbie about Dorian Yates? I'm so anxious to hear what he thinks about him especially since Dorian has the best back currently in bodybuilding.
MY LEFT EAR LOVED IT
