Could tell how excited you are about this new gimbal. Two things for me, first the detachable control screen, wow. Second, the added weight! Hohem is making their new gimbal into what a professional can use. Thank you, well done.
Glad you enjoyed the video! Been using it for the past couple of weeks and creating all these wild rig configurations! 🤘🏼😆 Thank you for sharing your time with me!
Hi, great review! Have you ever tried to film with the phone horizontally attached to this gimbal, when wireless mic receiver attached to it? Or may be mic receiver attached to phone from one side and lens or ND filter on the other? Could the gimbal stand this load and to work correctly and smooth ?
Yes! The 500 grams of payload capacity are extremely useful for rigs like this. I actually just shot with the Hohem Mic-01 and Sandmarc Filters! I am working this week on a brief video showing this build!
I actually tried this today with my M7 and unfortunately it doesn’t seem to support zooming with the native iPhone camera app (using iPhone 16 Pro on the latest version of iOS 18.2).
Hey, great vid! I'm looking to get the same set up. Does the M7 work just as well with the 16 Pro Max and the 16 Pro? Can the M7 handle the 16 Pro Max with lenses and filters? is the weight ok? Will lenses or filters interfere with the M7?
I actually have the 16 Pro Max! I used the Sandmarc Case with a Motion Variable Filter in this video and handled it like a champ! I am working on a full setup with lenses soon! 🤘🏼
Yeah, I know the load capacity. But I'll be putting reflex lenses on it (I hear they are heavy) and I was worried that outside of weight there would be a space issue ie I hear a lot of people complain that the Smallrig Brandon Li cage/rig with the mag safe gets in the way of larger filters and doesn't fit.
Have been troubleshooting a NEW m7 right out of the box since Saturday as I explained to Hohem through tech support this was a gift for my wife and it’s defective. It jerks in tilt mode, then flips the camera facing down and gets stuck, all 3 switches are unlocked, tried recalibrating. This was the suggestion by hohem tech. “Please try rotating it up and down for a week to restore it to its initial state.” After him having me send several videos for over an hour he then requires me to do a zoom meeting with another tech for an hour. What a joke! Any suggestions how to get this thing to work properly?
Hello! Welcome to the channel! The DJI Mic Mini should work since it connects via usbc. The extra payload capacity allows for the adjustment of the smartphone in the phone grip so you can slide the microphone. I have used it with Hohem Mic-01 which is a similar wireless mic system made by Hohem and it is similar in design receiver wise. Hope this helps! 🤘🏼😀
You can actually slide the phone a bit to make the space. I am working on a video to illustrate this but if the receiver is too big the a usbc adapter might help. Here is an example of how I was using the Hohem Mic which is also usbc. ruclips.net/video/oSsM0Y-YRWY/видео.html&si=6oIqi_NfosJPYpgw
What type of rig would you create with all this payload capacity?

Thanks Great review
Glad you enjoyed it! I appreciate your time! 🤘🏼
Great video! The M7 is the best Gimbal and definitely a must have. I have a question... how long does the M7's battery last?
Would love if you can try minimalist rig using Hohem M7. Having small SSD + usb hub for mic and charging that works well with this gimbal.
Totally! Writing a rig video with multiple setups in the coming weeks
awesome video. Which version of the briefcase handle do I choose?
glad you enjoyed the video! I recommend the one with 2 holes for iSteady M7!

@@EMTFILMS Thank you for your replay.)
I would be great to see the build
Do you know if you can use the camera zoom with the native iPhone camera? I heard that it may be possible with the latest iOS update.

@ thanks for letting me know!
Thanks for sharing your test! I appreciate it!
Where can I purchase the mount you're using for the external SSD? I'm not seeing it on Hohem's website.
I am actually using a Freewell mount!

I'm curious how well this will work with the Sony Xperia 1 VI.
Me too! Works great on my google pixel!
@EMTFILMS I've got a feeling I'll be picking this up!

How light is it
Hohem iSteady M7 is 629 grams (1.39 pounds).
Looking for lighter model?
Firs time here. Will this work with dji mic mini?

@ you are the best
Looks brilliant but the price and size make it only suitable for the serious videographers.
Agree that this model is a higher end product with pro features. I recommend V3 for portability and affordability. 🤘🏼
I have one ordered. I am not a serious videographer 😂 but I’m excited to add a 2nd gimbal 😊
@@Daviddear30 Enjoy
@@Daviddear30hope you enjoy it as much as I am enjoying mine! 🤘🏼😀
