As a Korean... 1. Seoul has more forests than other cities in the world because it was reset and developed once because of the war in the 1950s. In the case of Tokyo, it was developed 20 years earlier and the buildings were built densely, but since the 1960s and 70s when Seoul was developed, the green belt became quite an issue. 2. It's down the mountain here. Since the Joseon Dynasty, Seoul has been built in a key location because of the many mountains around it and good defense, and the presidential residence in the beginning of the video was built behind a mountain to prevent North Korean spies from infiltrating and North Korean bombardment. So you can't build taller buildings around it, and there are many mountains and trees. For the same reason~ In the 60s and 80s, first-generation wealthy people and politicians also commute to work in this area, so there are a lot of rich people down that mountain. Because they didn't want to live near the subway station with other people, they wanted to live quietly and secure at the foot of the mountain. Summary: ①Green Belt ②This is near the presidential residence
@@pp-wp9kg Thank you so much for your story and explanation. Loved reading it. It's very interesting to know. I hope ALL of the nature you have, will stay protected. It's not only breathtaking beautiful...but important as well. Thanks again, Take care
The walk is awesome: starting at the Gyeongbokung Palace which is such a great Palace for its diversity and beauty, visiting a village we would think of in the countryside and back is such a great route. Seoul is huge and diverse. Thank you Nathan for showing all these places. Have a good day the two of you. Hello to Coco.
Another walk around, *up* and *down* Seoul !! Time for refreshments after that little stroll Nathan🤭😉Fascinating and full respect, seeing the ancient buildings being so well maintained. Generations will enjoy these amazing sights and structures
I was visiting also in 2019 early November, and the weather was really quite nice and warm. Fall season in full bloom by end of October and early November in Seoul. Looking forward to enjoy my staying. Thanks Nathan!
Again, a wonderful walk. Thank you and I look forward to walking along with the next one. With much appreciation and kind regards from Deventer, the Netherlands.
The longer I watch Korea and Seoul, the more I realize how beautiful this country is. Lovely walk around the palace, with the traditional houses and people dress up in hanbok. The scenery prompts to older times. 👍
The landscape might be pretty here and there but society isnt. Korea has the highest suicide rate from all first world nations, next to Japan. Its a very shallow, judgemental, depressed society. There isnt much work life balance either and bullying is intense. Their mindset is not about speaking up or dealing with mental health. Not everything that sparkles is gold.

What an interesting Palace with a dynamic history. If we can be thrown back in time it would be a phenomenal experience.
