Wow. If you wanted a keyboard with aftertouch, why not buy a keyboard with aftertouch? Yes, browser mode is different than plug-in mode. Even after you select a preset, you can play with it, that should be enough to decide if you want to use it, and you can still browse for another. This is by design, and if you don't agree with it, that doesn't make it a defect, it's just not the right product for you. I have an A61 and I love it. The keybed is perfect for me, it not too heavy and its not too light (I'm not a classical pianist). I only have a 2K display, but Native Access works fine for me, and anyway, why did you upgrade to Komplete if you don't like Native Instruments?
I'm glad it works for you! This is just my honest opinion on the A49 (which actually is broken in my case - the knobs don't function properly anymore). I tried to mention several times that this was just my subjective opinion on it - I'm aware it's not the "100% correct opinion". Also, I upgraded to Komplete because I heard from everyone that it was a good idea. I actually really like several of their products - like, Massive is great! So is FM8. And having all the samples is great too! Like ... I wouldn't have gotten the a49 if I was extremely against Native Instruments. I wanted to like it, which maybe is why I came off really harsh on it here too (it was a rant. Thus: rant corner :p). And it makes the small complaints way more annoying when you get disappointed with a product like I was with this. One other thing: I noticed a few weeks ago that I actually could open Native Access on my 4k screen. After years ... I think they actually fixed that bug.
it does! it also makes one thing I didn't mention that others have in other reviews worse ... not only is there no aftertouch, there is basically no to very little velocity sensitivity because the velocity sensitivity curve is both a: kind of messed up, and b: uneditable.
The S49mk2 comes with aftertouch but it’s a Fatar which feels better but is more expensive. Worth the money however as the S series has 2 large screens and better build quality. I have an A49 that is sitting in my closet. I finally sprung for the S49mk2 and I haven’t looked back.
I bought it on launch. That's only a year or two of dust honestly ... it gets caked on faster than you'd think x.x (For context: I bought it new, used it for a bit, it ... I guess it pseudo-broke? Then it sat around, and then I put it in a keyboard case ... and then I took it out for this review because I wanted to give it another try, and didn't remember that it was broken)
Sooo glad I bought the S-series because it’s a hundred times better!!! I got the komplete kontrol s88 and it’s one of the best investment I’ve ever made. 🤗🤗🤗
Whining about an inexpensive keyboard! Someone with a little more to offer might be posting music. Or maybe building a better one. But, nope! We just get this nine minutes of whining from inside what looks like a hoarder's closet. I'll bet the one person who wishes you hadn't bought this even more than you is the Product Manager at Native Instruments. There are some customers you really don't want! (...and no, I'm not a Native Instruments fanboy. Just tired of people who have nothing to offer)

Maschine MK3 has the same problems. I bought a new one in an unopened package, the fader started to glitch immediately.

I paid 80 quid for new one is garbage keyboard but I use it for the encoders and the transport which do the job .
Everyone complains about how much of a dust magnet these are 😂

I would be annoyed by no aftertouch. It’s cost cutting on essentials and always feels cheap.
