What are your plans after school? How does licensing and all of that work? I’m a 2nd year and already thinking about it. And I took the NBDE I this past summer so I’m doing the NBDE II as well. At least we know what to expect doing the 2 part. My school takes the first part after D1 so my year is in a weird situation if you don’t pass the 1st time.

My grades are mostly B’ & C’s & my gpa is good but I just worry about the competitiveness getting into dental school. Also, did you get accepted to dental the first time around?
Is it a good idea to get a dental related job like dental assisting or dental lab tech for dental school? Will this help for applications or it wouldnt matter cause dental schools look at gpa and DAT score. Did you have a dental related job? If yes, do you think it helped you get into dental school?
I think getting a dental related job is a wonderful idea, not only does it "look good", but you get a ton of experience and you have more dental knowledge than many of your classmates. No, I did not have a dental related job but I wish I did.

But then we had a representative for a school come in to talk about biotechnology. Stating how many people who go into pre med or dental major in biology and when they graduate, they will have no job opportunities with their major. So I am wondering what are your pros and cons to that major and did it prepare you for dental school.

I'm planning to work! Honestly, I'm still figuring out the whole licensing thing but once I do, I'll let you all know.
