The iron reinforced beams are how you build higher. The important factor is how many pieces between the top and the ground, fewer pieces is stronger so use the longest ones you can.
The Iron Reinforced Beams and Stone take up the same "area" and don't "stack" elevation. So if you maxed out stone, you won't be able to add re enforced beams on top. So you build Stone till red, then core wood, then wood. There's a good video on it .
Its post and beam construction you're the first person I've ever seen frame (as you call it skeleton) a building after the build as a carpenter this hurts my soul
Structural integrity is based on how many building pieces they are away from being connected to a ground piece, like stone pillars, if you put stone pillars around the side of the walls, you can build further, just use that instead of wood beams for your skeleton.
Bracing needs to go into the ground to make a difference... the best seems to be every 2 or 3 tiles depending on how much you like. I go every 2 x 2 floor tiles.with columns going up
I build the framing supports and roof then fill in floors and walls, it’s easier to see we’re the support beams are and 100% it’s gonna rain when I build from the floor up. It’s a pain trying to repair all the damaged wood after it’s been placed. Core wood beams are great and I try to use them as much as I can. I’ve binged watched this series and been loving it.
To echo other comments here, integrity comes down to the number of elements between any component and the ground (blue) so longer poles are important for building tall. Use the core wood poles to add strength to high ridges. Horizontal beams and ribs in the walls/roof look nice, but add nothing structurally.
The luxury items definitely help out a lot in terms of your stamina boost. It can be really helpful when you have a lot to do. I have a nicely decked out home now and it works out pretty cool. You get more ambitious with your builds than I do, but they are really cool to see. Cool vid bro, keep them coming!
best builds i've seen in valheim start with laying down a structure skeleton... you build the other way around Kage, and that's why it gives you trouble...
the integrity is based mostly around distance from a piece touching the ground. If you put the 4m beams under the roof struts it should help them some with integrity
If you want to center a support pillar in the center of a block build a wood floor tile that is 1x1, itll snap into a corner, the corner of that 1x1 is now dead center of a floor tile and your support pillars can snap to that.
use the repair hammer to check for structural stability because when you check structural stability while building(your mouse button having a wood log) it calculates as if you were placing that item
for builds I recommend going 7 stone pillars high or stone then three core wood beams high/wood because stone and wood count as different foundational materials
Kage, you missed something on the corners out the new building. The upper part of the stairs has the hals wall reversed of how you wanted to do it. I'm sorry if I'm annoying you, but I just can't ignore it, when you say so often that you value the estetics so much :)
Hi Kage, try this, with your windows make them full panels and use the small floor panels the real small ones as window sills I think it looks real cool see what ya think you can then place items on them
Kage I’ve just found the series and I’m catching up. Ep 6 so far so give me a couple days and I’ll be up to speed :D keep up the great work, loving it so far!
that moment when you were waiting for a youtube notification about videos to be posted, but then only get one for the series you love for episode 46 and the last one you were notified about was episode 10
I believe some of the liquid buffs you make appear as glowing jars when you place them in world, if you want to try for some unique lighting options--don't know which glow and which don't tho
other suggestion for structure integrity- Maybe raise the ground as tall columns to use in place of poles-may be a bit thicker that way, but more anchor points-think like how it works building on a tree. Should be easy to cover up too
hey kage nice one what you did with the roof of your bedroom i think you can but some kind of light on top of that three stone bases you build !!! what do you think !
STAIRS,, i find putting a landing at the first level of walls then turn left or right to the second floor and not taking up too much space and like you putting in the corner works great, But i am wondering where the stone post stick through the floor, is it possible to put a fire on top of it?
I have build something similar but without stone pilars using core wood beams those that are 2 walls hi you can buld 3 lvl building with them if you are interested i can record how its done
If you want to invite me to your world, or you can come into mine, I can show you a really cool way to combine the wood, iron beams, and stone floors to build multi-story and hide the stone.
I built a three storey mansion and literally could not get the roof to not be red 😠 it doesn't seem possible even with stable core wood or stone pillars 😅
I wanna start by saying i love your channel.... but i have to say as soon as you opened the door by saying “skeleton” i knew ppl were coming for you in the comments 🤣🤣🤣🤣. man the comment section is a frikin slay fest. Anyway brother stay strong and keep up the good work.
I have been watching your videos from the beginning. I am going to try and be nice in the hopes that you will listen. I dont even play this game and I can tell how your supposed to build. You need your frame to be connect to your foundations so that the load baring poles arent just floating there. Every other video I have seen uses poles as foundations and then adds the walls and the floors and the roof after. Similar to real life, these aspects of the building support the building itself and act as its skeleton that everything else "hangs off of". I have watched you put in load barring poles after the fact in places where you have not put in the foundational pole connected to the ground and then stood there surprised and confused as to why it is not working. From watching you, I have surmised that every 2 - 3 floor pannels require a grounded foundational pole. Maybe test it. similarly with walls and roofing. I dont know if walls count as foundation but I dont think so as that is what you have been doing and have been having problems. You do a lot right in these videos. You play during the day realising that watching someone play at night is awful. You are pretty generous with the editing and clearly enjoy the exploration and combat. But watching you build is painful man. You don't finish what you start because you don't have a plan. for heavens sake you have an entire out post with a stone wall surrounding it that isnt used for anything..... I said I wouldnt rant. Please if you are going to build, have a plan. It would probably save you time anyway! Please make sure your foundations are set even if you have to put down an entire floor of stone, just set your foundations. I dont know if you remember but this building your working on does not have any foundational poles and is surrounded by half walls. Please finish what you start and dont set a project that is out of your reach and that you end up abandoning. It is beyond frustrating to follow you when all you stuff is unfinished and looks that way to. I really am not trying to be rude. Its frustrating. Its not like you dont know about foundations. You used them in some of your other buildings. Rule of thumb.... build them first.
I would actually like to voice the opposite while respecting your opinion. I actually enjoy him just talking his way through the whole thought processes and doing random stuff cos he enjoys it. E.g. the stone wall, sure, it serves no purpose, but it's a video game and he seems to play it as its intended, to have fun. Clearly he is not the most efficient or effective player. But I personally enjoy this whole laid back ride along. If he'd plan it all out ahead it wouldn't be as fun for me to watch. I enjoy the personality and thought processes, even though they are sometimes wrong, that shines through in his videos. That being said, this is partly how I play the game too, plan some stuff, go with the flow on others. (Ps, you are absolutely correct about the poles, he used one in his staircase, the stone build pieces and longer poles (called corewood poles) add structural integrity along with iron beams and iron gates)
Sure I can understand that point of view. And to a degree I agree with you, it is interesting to be in the head of some else when they are building. Counter point. You can still build on the fly and experiment while using good building practices. Really I just hope he gets the whole put pole in ground as foundation for building thing, Like near the end of this video he is building that balcony and he is connecting the polls to the roof to support it. The whole time I am cringing my as off cus those are not grounded and wont support the roof in any way. its that kinda thing that is frustrating to watch.
The iron reinforced beams are how you build higher. The important factor is how many pieces between the top and the ground, fewer pieces is stronger so use the longest ones you can.
i was just abuot to also wright this yes iron beams as main suport is best ever. and they can be hided inside other standing beams.
The Iron Reinforced Beams and Stone take up the same "area" and don't "stack" elevation. So if you maxed out stone, you won't be able to add re enforced beams on top. So you build Stone till red, then core wood, then wood. There's a good video on it .
4m corewood is your friend for cheap structural integrity. I've found several good videos on the topic that really help with planning.
Its post and beam construction you're the first person I've ever seen frame (as you call it skeleton) a building after the build as a carpenter this hurts my soul
YES OMG MINE TO
Same lol
I am not a carpenter, however it hurts my soul just the same... Frame it to get the shape and fill after.
you can just put rugs over the spots where the stone pillars stick through
Though those stone floor segments do look pretty cool.
@@norricdaoc8746 you arent wrong
Yeah but the problem is stuff if accidentally tossed will fall through and sometimes disappear.
Kage the "skeleton" is called the FRAME. and then the bottom of the build is the foundation. :D
rafters
You can call it skeleton, it's the framework of the house.
I go every 2 x 2 floor tiles.with columns going up
Love watching the building without all the flying and infinite resources.
Stone is red because it's not directly linked to the ground, if it was it would be green all the time.
I build the framing supports and roof then fill in floors and walls, it’s easier to see we’re the support beams are and 100% it’s gonna rain when I build from the floor up. Iron gate in the stone helps stability.
So do wood iron poles
use the repair hammer to check for structural stability because when you check structural stability while building(your mouse button having a wood log) it calculates as if you were placing that item
I think by Skeleton you mean the Framing lol
Dammit. A *deck* that works, not a *dock* that works, and here was I waiting for you to work on the dock!
Take a shot every time he says "structural integrity", "fair enough", or "that's dope".
I always put the pillars on the corners and along the bottom of the building otherwise it doesn’t look complete..has a gap where they meet
The building limit, is the number of joints you have between the piece and the ground.
I think Kage wanted to be able to tell people he has a big Deck! :) Come back to Valheim Kage!!
Can’t find another watchable lets play on this bar kick and Jc. I’m already looking forward to season 2
For the stairs railing, just put the roof-walls in.
Edit: nevermind.
Use a spiral staircase, lots of videos how to do it and they look great.
A triangle and an x pattern is always stronger than a square. If you think like that while building you can make strong structures
You build multiple floors with the stone. There are tons of vids out finding those stone circle broken towe things and building them tall
Wood iron poles allow you to go higher than 4 high in stone before changing colour
for builds I recommend going 7 stone pillars high or stone then three core wood beams high/wood because stone and wood count as different foundational materials

Kage wants a big "deck", sorry couldn't resist!
i really like to watch your building videos, my favorite part of this game is how building work.
Hi Kage, try this, with your windows make them full panels and use the small floor panels the real small ones as window sills I think it looks real cool see what ya think you can then place items on them
Second the ocd here... You can use the smaller floor in a corner of a large floor grid to have a snapping point exactly in the center
Kage I’ve just found the series and I’m catching up. Ep 6 so far so give me a couple days and I’ll be up to speed :D keep up the great work, loving it so far!
anyone else find themselves saying "FRAME! FRAME!" every time he says skeleton of the house
You need to see some of the insane builds on the Valheim subreddit 😆
Just get an innertube and use the moat as a lazy river 😁
Windmill on the roof just on the stone floor peaces.
Kage I love the upgraded building. A lot more space for stuff and things. Your old room was a bit to snug for my tastes lol
here we go again where kage is getting ocd when building things
Love the encore haha 👌
Time to leave a comment for my favorite video series.
Cross supports to the stone pillars
Let's build the house and worry about structural integrity when we can no longer place down building pieces. That way we have to start over :D
that moment when you were waiting for a youtube notification about videos to be posted, but then only get one for the series you love for episode 46 and the last one you were notified about was episode 10
You have a nice weekend who’re you than 😜🥰
A head*😒
I believe some of the liquid buffs you make appear as glowing jars when you place them in world, if you want to try for some unique lighting options--don't know which glow and which don't tho

Best Valheim Let's play
i know the iron doors give the most structural integrity but who's gonna use iron doors to build up a floor soo. anyway great vid!
24:20 they do realize that you need protect your moth right i mean that is the point of the wall
Thanks for making these videos!
This is one of the first times I am on time for your post!
Throw a rug on top of the floors where the stone pillars peek through
There are three kind of stairs, with a spiral it is better to me to use beams and make ever individual stair so it is perfect
I'm pretty OCD with how it looks..
*Puts down a stone pillar on top of wood floor*
Awesome work bro
I'm very torn between actually playing or watching the episodes that I've missed
hey kage nice one what you did with the roof of your bedroom i think you can but some kind of light on top of that three stone bases you build !!! what do you think !
Dope build!
Love the series
nice building man
Kage its okay. The whole world has OCD, in a form.
STAIRS,, i find putting a landing at the first level of walls then turn left or right to the second floor and not taking up too much space and like you putting in the corner works great, But i am wondering where the stone post stick through the floor, is it possible to put a fire on top of it?
multistory has to be stone base and stone walls
I have build something similar but without stone pilars using core wood beams those that are 2 walls hi you can buld 3 lvl building with them if you are interested i can record how its done
rip all the other series
If you want to invite me to your world, or you can come into mine, I can show you a really cool way to combine the wood, iron beams, and stone floors to build multi-story and hide the stone.

or just use a rug to cover them
How is it daytime only ?
Its not. It just gets to dark at the night so he sleeps through it.
Helo mai freind I am hier let's go myn wet de Beautiful game 🤓✌️👍👌💪✔️
I dont no if you no this tip sens you use so much stone go find one of those castles take your work bench and stone cuter and destroy it easy stone..

Yagluth?
Foundation bro
Plz bring back grounded
Comment.
Dude I hope you're not an architect... And I hope you don't even try to become one 😂
Poggers
Yooooooo
