I've experimented a lot with this and the build is so precise that you can only fit 1 "medium" size blanket inside. Anything else and the cover wont close flush.

There enough space to fit some bedding and pillows in there and be able to close it ? Thanks

It would be a little snug but I would say two would be fine.
